    Hi. Is the Product "Xtend" correct in this jira - https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=476534
    Shouldn't it be Xtext or Xbase?
    Karsten Thoms
    @kthoms
    Back then Xtend was a component on its own, and moved below Xtext later. That's an old bug, and closed anyway. I'd leave it as it is.
    Neeraj Bhusare
    @nbhusare
    ok
    Neeraj Bhusare
    @nbhusare
    Thanks for the clarification, I got a bit confused looking at the Product in the jira. I am seeing the same issue in 2.12 release, and was trying to troubleshoot it.
    Karsten Thoms
    @kthoms
    Yes, that's confusing. Also on GitHub it is not totally clear to which repository an issue should be reported. In doubt to eclipse/xtext. Users may not know what's the right repo, and esp. for Xtend it is complicated. Could be eclipse/xtext-xtend or eclipse/xtext-extras (Xbase) or eclipse/xtext-eclipse. We encourage GitHub over Bugzilla.

    Quick question: is there an example of a JUnit test for an XText language that is written in normal Java and not Xtend?
    Christian Dietrich
    @cdietrich
    What do you want to test? You can also take the generated code for the xtend code and prettify/cleanup it

    @InjectWith(MyDslInjectorProvider.class)
    public class MyDslParsingTest {
        @Inject

        @Test
        public void loadModel() throws Exception {
            StringBuilder builder = new StringBuilder();
            builder.append("Hello Xtext!\n");

            final Model result = this.parseHelper.parse(builder);
            Assertions.assertNotNull(result);
            final EList<Resource.Diagnostic> errors = result.eResource().getErrors();

            Assertions.assertTrue(errors.isEmpty(), () -> "Unexpected errors: "+IterableExtensions.join(errors, ", "));
        }
    }

    Is Intellij support for Xtext/Xtend completely dead?
    Christian Dietrich
    @cdietrich
    Yes. For Xtext you might have a look at the LSP options there are for IntelliJ
    Sam Garfinkel
    @sgarfinkel
    :( I'm not the biggest Eclipse fan :(
    I've never gotten the same kind of performance out of it relative to Intellij. I'll check out the LSP support though.

    :sunny: Morning, can someone please explain to me why do I have to add the -U flag to the Maven builds. It wasn't a must before, at least I have not used it, and the builds were green. Thank you!
    Ref: https://github.com/eclipse/xtext/issues/1758#issuecomment-622969878
    Christian Dietrich
    @cdietrich
    cause maven does not do anything if you called it once a day
    (caching metadatawise)
    Akos Kitta
    @kittaakos
    Well, I honestly do not understand a thing about the reason, or why I have to update the snapshots from Friday, and I had not had to do the same before, but I am still grateful for the quick workaround you gave me over the weekend, so thank you :pray:

    I am attempting to leverage the Intellij LSP plugin with the generated Xtext (.xtext) LSP and Xtend (.xtend) LSP. Has anyone had success with this? What artifact should I use from MavenCentral (if they are deployed) to run these?

    Hello! I'm trying to use xtext 2.25 in a standalone configuration with gradle, but ecore 2.25 does not seem to be available on mavencentral. Is there a repository which does have ecore 2.25?
    Christian Dietrich
    @cdietrich
    Emf has different version numbers for different plugins https://download.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/emf/builds/release/latest/index.html so you might search for 2.24 or 2.23
    Christian Dietrich
    @cdietrich

    Hi all,

    I am pleased to announce the availability of Xtext 2.26.0.M2.
    This is the first version that won't explode with Java 17 thanks to an update to Google Guice 5.0
    (run with Java 17 against 8/11 target, running against 17 will follow next year when platform/jdt and other upstream dependencies also support it)
    We also did some changes to how recovery builds are scheduled eclipse/xtext-eclipse#1710

    Release Notes (WIP) are at https://github.com/eclipse/xtext/blob/website-master/xtext-website/_posts/releasenotes/2021-12-31-version-2-26-0.md

    For both we strongly encourage you to test and give feedback.

    You can find the milestone at https://download.eclipse.org/modeling/tmf/xtext/updates/milestones/S202110010541/
    and http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/download.php?file=/modeling/tmf/xtext/downloads/drops/2.26.0/S202110010541/tmf-xtext-Update-2.26.0.M2.zip
    and soon on Maven Central

    Happy Xtexting

    Thanks and Regards
    Christian
