What it boils down is that if you can't sign into GitHub with that account, you won't be able to sign into Gitter with it either

@mauerbac_twitter The people with the line under their name in the people roster on the right are the admins. But if there are too many people in the room, you can't tell

If it's not your room, it doesn't sound like your call to delete it though?

Correct, I cannot see who is an admin. I'm on the AWS Amplify team and have been tasked with shutting it down. We haven't been active in that Gitter for over two years. It seems the folks who created it have left our team. Id like to know who is currently an Admin

I can prove im an admin on the connected AWS Amplify Github repo

Ive asked multiple ppl who do not see the delete room button

@mauerbac_twitter Ahh, sounds like a perfect case for support@gitter.im. Make sure your GitHub org membership public, have an account on Gitter with that GitHub account, and email us with the primary email associated with your GitHub account to verify control

@aolko I'm not sure what you mean by "read all" but you can use the /mark-all-read slash command to mark all messages in the room as read

@aolko If you don't want to use the slash command, you can also click the "x" in the unread badge that overlays the timeline

It looks like you're already aware of gitterHQ/webapp#1832 and it's not possible to clear unreads from all rooms

😁 See the issue. The API doesn't exist yet but there is a proposed solution there if someone wants to tackle the implementation (the app is open-source)

The issue is still relevant as ever. You can also use any Matrix client to access the public Gitter rooms (perhaps one of them fits you better), https://matrix.org/clients/

@josephj11:matrix.org On Gitter, search is located in the left menu under the magnifying glass menu bar icon. It will search messages in the current room, https://gitlab.com/gitterHQ/webapp/-/blob/develop/docs/messages.md#searching-messages

In Element, search is located in the room header on the right-hand side under the magnifying glass icon. And you can toggle between "this room" and "all rooms"
