    @code-explorer Welcome! I encourage you to check out the doc pages on packet logging: https://tardis-sn.github.io/tardis/io/output/vpacket_logging.html, and to experiment with running the tardis example simulation with different settings in the yml file to get first hand experience with what the different settings do.

    Hello! I checked the GSoC registration page (https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/) and saw aplications are closed. The timetable says that it closes the 19th. What should i do?
    Thanks!

    Hello! I have finished my draft application. But I get error 403 when I click "Register to become a contributor" in gsoc. Do other students encounter this or it is just my own problem?

    I was checking the first objective of Restructure Model Readers project and noticed someone already made a PR with the solution. Can I still apply to that project?

    @NickSkou
    hello everyone, Im Nick from Greece, an undergrad(last year, 5th) at the National Technical University of Athens studying applied sciences. My python programming experience is restricted to machine learning (neural nets, trees etc) and overall i would say my grasp on the language is still lacking. Im interested mainly in particle/atomic physics and programming, so, when I came across this opportunity which involves both I just couldnt pass it up. Anyways happy to meet you all and contribute!

    Hello! I'm making my application but I’m having trouble putting together the timeline because I think I lack information about the project (Monte Carlos 2D Packet Visualization) to make it properly. I would like to have some guidance in respect of which aspects of the project need work or could be improved.

    I am choosing the project "Monte carlo 2D packet visualization" for my final application. I have some questions about the project.

    What will the final visualization tool do and what all options will it provide to the user?
    And also I just wanted to confirm that this is large-sized 12 week project, right?
    tardis-bot
    @tardis-bot
    [slack] Andrew Fullard: The final tool should be capable of visualizing the path of an arbitrary number of packets. Ideally, interactions should be labelled at each point so that we can understand exactly what the packets are doing. The user should be able to choose which packets are visualized, perhaps filtering by various criteria such as electron scattered packets or packets that have undergone a line interaction.

    [slack] Andrew Fullard: And yes, we expect this to be a large-size project

    You can find more information about what features it can have at https://github.com/tardis-sn/tep/blob/master/TEP015_visualization.rst (note: it was written when packet tracking functionality was under development in numba_montecarlo branch - now that branch is merged)

    Specific to the project "Monte carlo 2D packet visualization", applicants can take inspiration from https://tardis-sn.github.io/tardis/io/visualization/index.html to figure out features and implementation details in their proposals

    @nooreldeensalah

    Hi Everbody!
    My name is Noor, I'm an undergraduate computer engineering student from Egypt.
    I'm interested in applying to this organization as part of GSoC.

    I've ran through the GSoC checklist, I've installed the software and ran the example (I'm using WSL2 on Windows 10), and I've submitted the GSoC challenge on Google Forms.

    I'm interested in working on Tardis Setups Framework. I've completed the first objective, I've ran the simulation and plotted the resulting spectrum results for 2022\sn_radtrans_compare\blondin_model_compare_01.yml.

    What is the next step? should I make a pull request, or send the plotted spectrum here?

    Jayant Bhakar
    @jayantbhakar
    Yes, you have to make a pull request and add the spectrum image in the description.

    Hello! I have a question related to the "Restructure Model reader " Project. As tardis currently reads data through either csvy or YAML for composing its model. As per the project requirement, a new format reader has to be implemented in this project. So, can you please suggest some format readers that could be implemented?

    Hello! I am Surya, currently an undergrad student in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in IIIT Naya Raipur, India.
    I am interested in TARDIS Setups Framework project.
    I have installed TARDIS in Ubuntu using Anaconda as recommended on official website.
    I have plotted the simulation as given for First Objective of this project and created PR for the same https://github.com/tardis-sn/tardis-setups/pull/7#issue-1206474608
