Hi @ossema95, here are some elements of response:

Activiti 7 was built based on Activiti 6, so most of the processes that were running on Activiti 6 will also run on Activiti 7. However, there are some key changes:

  • change on identity service: that was migrated to Keycloack
  • removal of forms support
    So depending on what your process was using you may need to make some changes in order to get it working on Activiti 7.
    In addition to that we suggest you to use connectors (bean or cloud connector) for implementation of service tasks (even if other implementations supported on Activiti 6 are still supported)
    • yes, AsyncExecutor is available in Activiti 7, but note that if you're using cloud connectors your service task is already async by design, so you don't need to mark it as async.
    • most of BPMN elements are already covered by Activiti 7 Modeler. What exactly you're missing?
    • Activiti Cloud Applications are meant to use immutable docker images that contains all the available process definition, so no end point is provided by default to deploy new processes on the fly. However, it's possible to configure the location of the folder containing the process definition via the system property spring.activiti.process-definition-location-prefix or environment variable SPRING_ACTIVITI_PROCESSDEFINITIONLOCATIONPREFIX. You can also add your own REST endpoint on your runtime bundle to support deployment of extra process definitions if you want.
    • could you be more specific about what you mean by "concurrency problems of acitiviti6"? Is there an open issue for that?

another question:
we are currently working with act6 and we look for migration to 7
our asyncExecutions working throught the jms (with ibm mq), is this possible with act7 ? or we should work with the normal async executor ?
i know that serviceTask is async by design in the cloud version, but when migrating, the current process intances will keep working with the old model definition version (since activiti does not support processInstance migration like Camunda it does) so the serviceTask is already hardCoded in the model definition :)

Hi, I have a question about notifications connected with User Tasks, that are send automatically from runtime bundle to the audit and query queues. I have created example process with users tasks and deployed application using 7.1.0-M12 activiti cloud version. When going through the process I see, that messages are only sent on TASK_ASSIGNED and TASK_COMPLETED events and no message is sent on TASK_CREATED event. Is it intended or this is a a bug?
Elias Ricken de Medeiros
@erdemedeiros
Hi @lkotlewski, you should have TASK_CREATED as well. Depending on how your process looks like you will have TASK_CREATED in the batch of events that contains PROCESS_STARTED event as well. You’ll usually receive several events grouped together in the same message

Hello, I created a new sub process in the main process, and created a lot of Service Tasks in the sub process and connected them with SequenceFlow. The problem is that although SequenceFlow has been created such as:

<bpmn2:sequenceFlow id="sequenceFlow-85a1c3cf-89c4-4314-b1e5-d46f5d9834fc" sourceRef="Ready_Cover_Upper_Box" targetRef="Cover_Upper_Box"></bpmn2:sequenceFlow>
When running "new BpmnAutoLayout(model).execute();", <bpmndi:BPMNEdge> did not create a corresponding wiring layout in the sub process, resulting in no connection lines displayed when viewing with BPMN software.

Hi I wanted to ask if it possible to achieve such option that routingKey value of message that activiti sends on Integration Request depends on value of process variable? I see that default routingKey structure isintegrationContext.{serviceName}.{appName}.{connectorType}.{executionId}. I would like to have structure like integrationContext.{serviceName}.{appName}.{connectorType}.{someProcessVariable}.

Hi all, anybody knows what is proper way of deploying multiple runtime bundles with only single instance of database (like PostgreSQL)? It seems this should be done this way, however when I deploy, for instance, 2 runtime bundles with diffrent application names, processess, etc, it deploys always as SpringAutoDeployment name and works only for the deployment that was the last - because of repository selector which gets the latest deployment. Then I find out a spring.activiti.deployment-name property and when I set it to custom name, auto deployments works for each runtime bundles - now I see deployment name I set in property file in act_re_deployment table, however now I got null pointer exception from org.activiti.runtime.api.model.impl.APIDeploymentConverter.from(APIDeploymentConverter.java:28) and I don't know the correct way of changing the default behavior (which always looks for SpringAutoDeployment). I assume that multiple runtime bundles can share the same database and schema - or this is wrong approach and each RB should have their own schema?

Hi all, Hope somebody will be able to help... In activiti 7 (cloud connector) is there any way to get the list of processes (and tasks) in which exception occured (and have not been cought) and are still in RUNNING state. I'm looking also the answer for the question how to get the list of processes (and their variables) which FAILED (exception has been caught, workflow followed "the error path"). The latter I tried with
@Autowired private HistoryService hs; ... List<HistoricProcessInstance> historicProcessInstances = hs.createHistoricProcessInstanceQuery().withJobException().includeProcessVariables().list();
but the list is empty...

Hi all, I could NOT start process instance with api {{gateway}}/rb/v1/process-instances after I integrated activiti7. Everytime, I got error message below:
{
"code": 404,
"message": "no deployed process definition found with id '16ffd4ea-e843-41f4-88cd-a3f24b85eada'"

Looks like I need to deploy model first, but I could not find relevant api, does anybody help me out this?

Thanks in advance.

Hey guys :) Maybe someone else came across the same problem (description of it you can see below)
The application crashes from time to time on a StackOverflow error with the stacktrace see below.

The error occurs unexpectedly in various scenarios. We are not able to simulate it or predict its occurrence.

Is there any workaround for this bug in version 5? Or maybe there is a chance that this error can be solved by upgrading framework activiti version 5 to framework activiti 6?

Thank you in advance.

Full stacktrace you can find here: https://pastebin.com/9niRtryH

Hi, Have a question on how to use TaskRuntime to query the task in Activiti Core. We have a use case where tasks from multiple projects are submitted to user group 'reviewer' and our reviwers wanted to claim tasks based on the project they currently assigned. I don't see TaskRuntime API has a way to query based on the assignee and process variable like the way it is supported in TaskService Activiti 6.0, like List<Task> tasks = taskService.createTaskQuery().taskAssignee("kermit").processVariableValueEquals("orderId", "0815"). Is there a way to achieve this use case in Activiti Core?
