    We changed the name of the project and i cleaned the code a bit, works for me but can somebody test it with the U1 touchpad before i put in on github? Also use the supplied VoodooI2CHID instead of the old one
    QuanTrieuPCYT
    @QuanTrieuPCYT
    okay, i can do that for you
    QuanTrieuPCYT

    juico
    @juico

    Hi everybody! Thanks for your hard work on this. I am 7490 owner ready to contribute. Not a pc expert but really excited to give my small piece of help. Cheers
    juico
    @juico
    Hey bogomil, your help is welcome.
    Do you already have voodooi2c working on your laptop?
    Bogomil Enchev
    @bogomilenchev:matrix.org
    [m]
    Sure! I will upload my ioreg
    juico
    @juico
    Thanks, one more question? Do you have any issues when using the buttons while dragging and dropping/making selection boxes?
    Bogomil Enchev
    @bogomilenchev:matrix.org

    Nope, it's brilliant :)
    wow..it was so long trying to make this happen and now it's working, can't believe it!
    thank you guys!
    juico
    @juico
    Enjoy, i will add your laptop to the supported devices list

    Thank you! I think several devices like 5490. 7290 etc will be working as well as they have the same touchpad.
    juico
    @juico
    Yes, that could be true indeed. For now i just add them to list if i have some confirmation if it is completely working.
    whenmusicattacks
    @whenmusicattacks
    i can test Dell E5570, would that make sense?
    juico
    @juico
    Do you already have it as a hackintosch?
    it seems to be using a ps2 version as far as i can see
    juico
    @juico
    not completely sure as my touchpad in the G3 studio also has ps2 and i2c.
    juico
    @juico
    I added a list of potential working devices to the readme that i gathered from linux-hardware.org
    whenmusicattacks
    @whenmusicattacks
    yes, its my personal hack; whenever i try any mod to the EFI folder, it works one boot then goes away
    it is quite common to provide double interface fps2 and i2c for 2015 era laptops; some even have the switch in the bios (like some acer models) potentially to improve compatibility with older OSs
    i will login to windows to gather more information
    whenmusicattacks
    @whenmusicattacks
    just logged to windows realize it does not even have 2 track gestures here, driver seem to be ps2, but hwinfo is showing a i2c device attached
    juico
    @juico
    that does not really seem promising, was there some kind of productID you could see? Perhaps it uses a older generation touchpad that dont support multitouch anyway
    whenmusicattacks
    @whenmusicattacks
    after installing the Del drviers i had 3 fingers swipe but bus is still PS2 so i guess that's it, e5570 is not compatible
    juico
    @juico
    did you try the alps ps2 kexts from dr. Hurt?
    whenmusicattacks
    @whenmusicattacks
    found a 5 year old repo, is that the one?
    Carretilla Roja
    @CarretillaRoja
    Hey everyone! I have a Dell E5490 (Intel 8th gen, UHD620, ALPS I2C trackpad). The trackpad jorks, albeit it is jumpy (this is what I hate the most). Buttons are not working at all
    juico
    @juico
    hey Carretilla, if you send the IOReg i can take look at it
    Carretilla Roja
    @CarretillaRoja
    I am using old and modified (I don't know by who) VoodooI2C drivers, which do the job, but when using official ones, the trackpad does not work
    orbeeorbeeorbee
    @orbeeorbeeorbee
    hey guys, weird things happening. I have this dell precision 3530 with a almost working trackpad, thanks to juico. The physical button are super buggy, and the trackdot totally not working. Gestures and stuff works pretty nice. Weird thing: on big sur and monterey it's working PERFECTLY at all. Any ideas of why this weird behavior?
    juico
    @juico
    Yeah it is a bit strange, did any of u guys test the alpsHID kext with cataline or lower using the U1 touchpad?
