@aluxian
yes, see develop
CHANGELOG
or commits
Émile Fugulin
@Sytten
nice
Alexandru Rosianu
@aluxian
i wanted to send to staging to test the builds but that's when i realised the CIs didn't work
i re-activated notifications for gitter, but they're email only. if you need anything urgent or i don't reply here ping me on messenger, i get those instantly
Émile Fugulin
@Sytten
ha... I will prepare the .org website for the update. Mainly add a script to fetch the latest version for now.
good thanks
if you want, you can change the URL in the description to the .org domain. Seems like I dont have the permissions to do so.
Alexandru Rosianu
@aluxian
done
Émile Fugulin
@Sytten
:+1:
Alexandru Rosianu
@aluxian
you can use the links in src/package.json > packages, they're clean
you won't need any scripts to fetch the latest
Émile Fugulin
@Sytten
yep except for linux.
does squirrel works for linux?
If so I could PR to your server implementation
Alexandru Rosianu
@aluxian
the server has both package types and both arches
Émile Fugulin
@Sytten
ho, good then
Émile Fugulin
@Sytten
great
might want to normalize amd64 and x86_64 at some point
Just feels strange to use the .com domain in the .org website :)
Émile Fugulin
@Sytten
The website is updated to fetch the latest version
I used your script @sidneys
sidneys.github.io
@sidneys
@Sytten awesome. yes. its handy and irritatning that there is no simple URL / REST path for getting direct links to the latest release binaries
Émile Fugulin
@Sytten
Yea :S
All the stuff done by aluxian is in coffescript, but now with ES6 I find that its not very usefull anymore
the only things that dont work is the uglify plugin
only capable of working with ES5
sidneys.github.io
@sidneys
ditto
i hate coffescript.
full disclosure here
but i do see and like typescript and its benefits, for example
for the night owls out there, i created a desktop dimming app based on electron (overkill, but performance wise its perfectly ok):
basically it darkens the display beyond their native lowest brightness by adding overlays

@Sytten
Damn nice
@sidneys hey btw I have an internship in Copenhagen this summer :P
if we ever want to do a MFD live meetup haha
Émile Fugulin
@Sytten
The problem with coffescript is that no one is using it with gulp
so when I try to modify I build script its always a pain XD
sidneys.github.io
@sidneys
yeah. I think gulp is already terrible
I did head of technology & dev ops in my last full time job and purged this thing from all projects
it's not verbose or well-struxtured enough to warrant a separate build system, either the more verbose but scalable grunt or pure npm scripts all the way! 😎😎🤠🦅
IMHO
Émile Fugulin
@Sytten
it seems to be used a lot though
never used grunt
python is nice for deployment scripts
Émile Fugulin
@Sytten
2.0.5 is out!
And the website picked it up :)
