    Hi, I have downloaded Git and Android Studio, (both most recent versions) really struggling with it. When Studio opens. it just says 'This file is indented with 2 spaces instead of 4 spaces configured for the project'. Please could anyone advise? Many thanks

    Hi, Im a complete novice with AndroidAPS. Is this the right place to ask for help?
    I'm on a Mac, and trying to "Download Android SDK." When I click on File > there is no Settings option. Any ideas?
    CaroGo
    @CaroGo
    @melanielcash you can't just download AAPS, go to https://androidaps.readthedocs.io and look for more information! 😉

    @melanielcash
    @CaroGo thanks so much for replying. I am following those instructions and doing the “Download android SDK” step. I cant find the right place to do the next part though, as there is no “settings” option under File. Ive clicked on everything close by and everthing that also has settings in the name, but nothing gets me to the place with appearances & (whatever the next word was in the instructions).

    https://luckyloop.koeln/?s=Update here you find a small video instruction, but it is in German and already a few months old... And no mac computer... So... Not sure if it will help

    Worked it out! I had to go to preferences under the Android Studio menu bar. Thank you for assistance.

    Hi I had the error "Java.io.IOException = Cannot run program C\Android\Android Studio\jre\jre\bin\java CreateProcess error=206 ... The file name or extension is too long" while trying to update the AndroidAPS app to version 2.7.0. I took the following steps:I upgraded Android Studio to version 4.1.1 with Android 9 (Pie) in SDK, tried the Pull process, or the clone process, or the clone process with a folder close to root C:\, or the "subst" command in windows to mount the path to a letter like "O" for example to overcome long filepaths like "C:\Android\AndroidStudio\
    But nothing worked and I could not generate successfully the FullRelease apk, with new key store passwords. Finally, I would like to note that I had the same problems when I first tried to make the app in the previous version meaning the 2.6.1.4 in last April, but in September the problem was solved by itself. Android APS 2.6.1.4 is my current version in OpenLoop.

    I also downloaded the AndroidAPS 2.7.0-rc7 latest release, from Github, unzipped, run the "Generate signed bundle / APK", but it showed the same error again. I have Windows 8.1 64-bit and an Android smartphone.

    Hello again I am writing again after around 15 days. I chose a dead time like 5am this morning to connect to the https site for the cloning, the apk was generated successfully, but I COULDN'T INSTALL IT ON MY PHONE (Android 6.0.1). The error now is "PARSE ERROR There was an error while parsing the package." I tried to install it an another Android 6.0.1 phone, the error was the same. The same happened again a week before when I tried to do the steps that you provided in the site. The sad thing is that I didn't have the much advertised help that you mention almost everywhere. Bye!

    @Iliad10
    So update your instructions in the site and at least write the minimum requirements. You leave us alone struggling, as this is the only thing that we do and know in our life. The truth is that you need a specific SKILLSET to manage TO ASSEMBLE ALL THESE. For gods sake, all of you out there! Not to mention that I lost all my progress and data in the old version that I had to uninstall in order to install the new 2.7.0 for AndroidAPS. Bye bye, I've had enough! I can't stand any of these troubles. And last, but not least, I believe that you see and know anything that's happening in our own apps, via the Objectives chapter and who knows what else...

    Hi, I have just started the openloop with AndroidAPS + RL + OmniCore + Dex G6. Tried to figure out how to give insulin while changing CGM while warming up for 2 hours. Any tips is appreciated
    Milos Kozak
    @MilosKozak
    Go to FB for this kind of Support
    Bjørn Vidar
    @Technixx
    Ok 👍 I think it may have been a lag. Killed both apps then, re-enabled 'accept AndroidAPS commands', then the insulin button appeared again. But handled it temporarily manually.
    Philoul
    @Philoul
    @Iliad10 It took me less than 5 min to find in the doc the minimum requirements in 2 different pages https://androidaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/EN/Installing-AndroidAPS/Releasenotes.html#version-2-7-0 and https://androidaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/EN/Module/module.html#phone so you really didn't take the time to read it before writing your post. The truth is NOT that you need a specific SKILLSET, the truth is that you MUST READ THE DOC if you want to use this kind of app!
    And the main difference between an open source APP like AAPS and Application you can find with "Commercial system" (i.e. Libreview for Freestyle), is that in opensource, you can see source code so everything done by the app, so believe what you want, on my side I believe in what I see!
    Iliad10
    @Iliad10
    No kidding? All of you weren't very chatty when I first made the exact same question on last April in FB, neither in late November, although I am sure you saw it. Then, I concluded that the link that you gave as per "http:\....miloskozak..." was too busy, that's why the apk concluded in September, when everyone was connecting to the new link as per "https:\nightscout...", leaving the previous link almost idle. Amateurs... even your https link doesn't work as it should. Finally, I chose a "dead" time at 5am in the morning after a night with Champions League football games, to find an idle slot, to finally have a new """successfull""" apk, always with the doubt if the apk was corrupted or not after the previous unsuccessful build-ups. And , yes I was the one who said no to "local support", cause I didn't want to switch my pump, you imagine to which one... So, you left me struggling alone. The links that you refer to weren't in the right position as you progress with the update, so they are useless. Thank god there are alternatives, which I can afford implement them on my own! Bye Bye!!!!

    @cheers2
    @lliad10 Just out of curiosity. Which alternative that has the same set of functionalities are you talking about?

    Dear Doc team, I am try to use the search, though I get the results, many of them are duplicated because all languages are in the same documentation site. Are there some options in the planning to improve this? Can we add filters? Just checking the readthedocs.io but I could not find an easy solution. A quick win might be to set the languages sub folder in the ranking. https://docs.readthedocs.io/en/stable/config-file/v2.html#search
    Andries Smit
    @Andries-Smit
    Or Could we completely solve this issue by moving the languages different projects as sugested on https://docs.readthedocs.io/en/stable/localization.html#project-with-multiple-translations

    We can automate the link check for external URL as an integrated github action with https://github.com/urlstechie/urlchecker-action however this only check external links. Ill dive a bit deeper in this topic to check if we can check relative (internal urls) too
    Andries Smit
    @Andries-Smit
    @xJoe If I want to make PR with fixed external links (any language), can I do this directly trough GitHub or all non English changes go trough the translation tool?
    Andries Smit
    @Andries-Smit
    @xJoe Did you manage to split the doc side for translations? Got it to work on a clone (with 3 languages for now) https://androidapsdocs.readthedocs.io/ Ill open a PR for the split config if you like it
    image.png
    Language switch is at the bottom. Though if we like we can add some link to the home page as alternative

    Translated documentation of the Android APS project contains many issues (1000+ warnings and 1000+ broken links), cause by the translations (process). We are discussing to move from restructured rst text to markdown md. Do you have an opinion on this, or do you have some ideas how to improve the translation process? Or do you think that the documentation should be only in English? Please share it with us here openaps/AndroidAPSdocs#1000
