Piraveen Kamalathas
@piraveen
Hello, i was wondering if the redirectTo works with the current starter pack
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
Good question, I haven't tried. There are a few problems with the router atm but they're slowly fixing them

@mjw56
hey, do I need to import Zone when using it?
I'm trying to incorporate this into an existing project.. but I was pulling in Zone from global namespace. Getting Zone is undefined now.
return Zone.bindPromiseFn(fetch)('http://localhost:3001/books');

@mjw56
bah, sorry needed to do import {Zone} from 'zone.js';

@SekibOmazic

Hi,
I tried to import NgZone like this:

import {NgZone} from 'angular2/src/core/zone/ng_zone';

but got this error:

Cannot find external module 'angular2/src/core/zone/ng_zone'.

Same works fine in a plunker. Any idea how to solve this?

Hey, i have a question about the routing stuff... inside a subview i have added a link to another component and my first try was to use the router-link directive but it doesn't work .. so i have added a regular link and its working fine, now i am wondering what i need the router-link direcitve for, this directive only works fine in the app template ( inside app.ts )

@SekibOmazic
Forget my question :point_up: May 24 2015 4:27 PM. Solved by declaring module in ng2.t.ds
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
@marekchec there are a lot of problems with the new Router at the moment :/
Elad Reuven Katz
@EladRK
why does the starter uses ng-for and not just for ?
and great job btw :)
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
@EladRK thanks, they changed the syntax from *for=“var item of items” to *ng-for=“var item in items” since they noticed they had a problem figuring out what you’re binding to if you had muliple directives on the same element
Elad Reuven Katz
@EladRK
@gdi2290 thanks. one would expect that https://angular.io/docs/js/latest/api/directives/For-class.html would at least not show incorrect usage ;)
do u have any documentation on that? (their decision that is)
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
yeah one sec I’ll find the github issue
angular/angular#1598
can you leave a comment about the docs not being updated
Elad Reuven Katz
@EladRK
sure
Elad Reuven Katz
@EladRK
btw why don't u pull the router type definitions into definitely typed? it took me a few days to stumble upon your starter kit
Dima Kuzmich
@forforeach
Pretty much the best starter kit we've found. Awesome job, guys!
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
@forforeach thanks =D
@EladRK I have a PR open in definitely typed for angular2 but they’re delaying it. The typescript maintainer on angular team keeps saying they’re close to finishing their autogenerated version (which totally makes sense but it’s still broken until they’re done)
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
auto if you guys have any suggestion for the repo feel free to submit an issue or open a pull request. You can also message me here or us on twitter at @AngularClass
Elad Reuven Katz
@EladRK
@gdi2290 haha, used the wrong chatroom aparently ;)
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
@EladRK lol np, yeah I can add express support then the user can use either one since they will both use WebpackDevServer
that way you can add any middleware you like
Elad Reuven Katz
@EladRK
that would be excellent.
I'd be happy to do it myself to be honest - just not sure how :)
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
yeah give me 10minutes or so
Elad Reuven Katz
@EladRK
also at home.ts there's the following line: template:`<style>${styles}</style>\n${template}`
is that really the recommended way to work with CSSs when working with webpack ?
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
there are a few different ways to do it
right now there’s a problem with angular2’s url resolver so uf you want relative paths to other files for your component you have to provide a full url to it
so using webpack we could use their url resolver so we only have to do ‘./home.css’ and ‘./home.html'
plus angular2 doesn’t have a styleUrl (I had a PR open awhile back so I might be able to add it again)
