@EladRK soon they will support styles in the View decorator annotation so you could either do (in the future next release) still using webpack

@View({
  template: require('./home.html'),
  style: require('./home.css')
})

without webpack or any other module system, while still in node, then you would use angular itself

@View({
  moduleId: module.id,
  templateUrl: ‘./home.html’
  styleUrl: ‘./home.css’
})

Downloaded zip, ran "npm start" and am getting "'webpack-dev-server' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.". On a Windows machine. Thoughts?
Justin Schwartzenberger
@jschwarty
Scrolled down the readme past the quickstart and saw the Getting Started (https://github.com/angular-class/angular2-webpack-starter#getting-started). Installed webpack and webpack-dev-server globally, now the webpack-dev-server error is gone but webpack module cannot be found when running npm run server.

Hey man
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
@jschwarty I haven’t tried the repo on a Windows machine :/ were you able to get the problem resolved?
Martin
@margru
Hi, I'm a newbie to TypeScript (so far I've been using just pure Javascript with webpack), so this might seem like a stupid question but I still don't fully understand that: webpack is using typescript-simple loader which should compile TS code into ES5 code. Thus, why traceur is still necessary in the browser? Is it possible to use babel and configure webpack to use it during the build and thus avoid including traceur in the index.html? Thanks for any reply...
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
@margru traceur-runtime is only here for ES6 polyfills so it’s not the full version of traceur
Martin
@margru
@gdi2290 Well, still don't understand why I need ES6 polyfills in the browser when the typescript-simple loader is compiling the source TS code into ES5 and this ES5 code is then included in the index.html, i.e. there should be no ES6 features in the resulting code. I'm sorry but I still don't get it...
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
@margru the Angular framework assumes you have these polyfills so it’s not a typescript thing so much as Angular itself requiring it

@pwarelis
Tried the --hot option on the dev server. Hot module replacement doesn't seem to work. I just reloads the entire page as it can't find the hot.json file. Any advice?
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
@pwarelis I still need to build out that part for Angular2 but for now it’s reloading the page on each change
Martin
@margru
@gdi2290 OK, thank you very much for the explanation.
Paul Warelis
@pwarelis
@gdi2290 Nuts! Thanks for replying. Is that difficult to do?

Hello everyone. I am breaking apart the starter pack in hopes to understand it better and I've got stuck with a very basic issue. As soon as I use "router-link" directive, I get "Error: TypeError: list.reduce is not a function in [red in null]" error. Here is the live version, http://angular2.ngrok.com and the playground https://github.com/gajus/ng2-playground source code
Diego Barahona
@diestrin
Hello @gdi2290, first of all you made an extraordinary work in the set up of this starter. I'm just currently having an issues, and has to be something very stupid, but when I run npm start it throws a ton of warnings, and when I open the browser, it simply doesn't work
warnings are like WARNING in ../app-simple/app.ts
(1,1): File '/Users/diegob/Documents/Learn/ng2.0/angular2-webpack-starter/src/typings/_custom.d.ts' not found. (6053)
and indeed that file doesn't exists, so not sure what are you trying to reference in app.ts
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
there was a problem with the repo for about an hour
Diego Barahona
@diestrin
oh... should I go and checkout an older version?
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
ok yeah I see the problem one sec
Diego Barahona
@diestrin
your response time is amazing :p
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
@diestrin okay it should be working now if you redownload it
np
Diego Barahona
@diestrin
amazing, pulling now :)
I'll try to take a look to how it works, and if I can find something to contribute I wll :)

could anybody help me to get material design working... I've tried to import it, but without much luck.
<script src="https://rawgit.com/urish/angular2-material-build/master/angular2_material.dev.js"></script>
import {MdInput, MdInputContainer} from 'angular2_material/material';
The error I get: Cannot find module 'angular2_material/material'. (2307)

webpack-dev-server --- Getting following error in Windows
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
@MAJLGC can you npm install -g webpack-dev-server

I run "npm install -g webpack-dev-server " with no errors
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
the problem for windows seems to be webpack-dev-server. can you run
npm run express-install
npm run express
ok if you’re able to install webpack-dev-server then it might work
osdevisnot
@osdevisnot
I thought EACCESS was for permissions. Maybe trying port other than 8080 will help?
MAJLGC
@MAJLGC
Not working...I`ve got same errr after install.
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
@MAJLGC can you try the express install? @abhishekisnot you might be right
@MAJLGC after express-install can you run PORT=3000 npm run express if it’s still the same error
MAJLGC
@MAJLGC

@gdi2290 Yes, I did install express again and i´getting the same error c:\Users\MAJLGC\Documents\GitHub\angular2-webpack-starter>npm run express

angular2-webpack-starter@0.0.0 express c:\Users\MAJLGC\Documents\GitHub\angular2-webpack-starter

@gdi2290
EADDRINUSE means you have something running on the same port 8080
@MAJLGC can you run PORT=3000 NODE_ENV=development node ./server/express-server-example.js
MAJLGC
@MAJLGC
@gdi2290 . SOrry . 8080 was already in use. Express waork OK but "webpack- dev-server" not. c:\Users\MAJLGC\Documents\GitHub\angular2-webpack-starter>webpack-dev-server

@MAJLGC the problem is a permissions one so @abhishekisnot was right

@MAJLGC
@gdi2290 @abhishekisnot . That works perfect. Thanks so much
PatrickJS [tipe.io]
@gdi2290
awesome! @abhishekisnot thanks for your help I added both errors to FAQ in the readme
osdevisnot
@osdevisnot
I always wondered why projects like webpack-dev-server and https://github.com/tapio/live-server use 8080
