@thomasbee
@binarious I didn't get any
ah, sorry, scrolling problem

@binarious

I added:

ts: {
   transpileOnly: true
},

To my webpack config. This made it a lot faster until the ts-loader issue is resolved.

Jason Miazga
@jmiazga

Hello there, I am just getting started with the whole web development thing and angular. The angular2-webpack-starter seems exactly what I need to build my apps but I have a questions: how can I add (and use) external dependencies such as bootstrap, ng2-bootstrap etc. ?
Giovanni De Stefano
@zxxz
My bad, I just found the wiki :-)

Hello guys, is anybody actually working on integrating ag-grid? I have found this empty page on the wiki: https://github.com/AngularClass/angular2-webpack-starter/wiki/How-to-include-ag-grid
Anas R. Firdousi
@afirdousi
I forked the starter kit, worked great... made lots of changes to it and pushed it to our main repo, when people fork and clone that, they are getting this issue which is annoying:
ERROR in /Users/afirdousi/Documents/workspace/WatchtowerNodeWeb/node_modules/angular2/src/facade/promise.d.ts
(1,10): error TS2661: Cannot re-export name that is not defined in the module.
some how after this error Web Pack still says
Child html-webpack-plugin for "index.html":
    chunk    {0} index.html 417 kB [rendered]
        [0] ./~/html-webpack-plugin/lib/loader.js!./src/index.html 5.24 kB {0} [built]
           factory:27ms building:35ms = 62ms
        [1] ./~/html-webpack-plugin/~/lodash/index.js 411 kB {0} [built]
           [0] 62ms -> factory:2121ms building:528ms = 2711ms
        [2] (webpack)/buildin/module.js 251 bytes {0} [built]
           [0] 62ms -> [1] 2649ms -> factory:1040ms building:881ms = 4632ms
webpack: bundle is now VALID.
so it says bundle is now VALID. but when you go to the browser, the app never loads... it keeps showing "Loading...." and on the console you see the following

@afirdousi
any pointers to fix this guys?
binarious
@binarious
@afirdousi Are you using ts 1.8? angular/angular#6468
Anas R. Firdousi
@afirdousi
@binarious the most recent comment on that issue is mine. Can you please go through that.
binarious
@binarious
@afirdousi You're on beta3. That's the problem. Downgrade typescript or upgrade angular2.
Anas R. Firdousi
@afirdousi
TSC : Version 1.8.2
Angular : 2.0.0-beta.3
Download typescript to ?
binarious
@binarious
Downgrade to 1.7.5
Anas R. Firdousi
@afirdousi

Anas R. Firdousi
@afirdousi
Works great @binarious ! So it was all about downgrading TS ! Thanks a bunch.

hello
Shah Syed
@s37syed
hey everyoen! i have a project that i started without the angular2-webpack starter kit. can someone help guide me as to how i can do this?
Shah Syed
@s37syed
so i tried porting it...but i get an error when running webpack itself, with exit status 255
i think it has something to do with a lack of an output filename? not really sure but my file directory is probably messed up now
sammichelson
@sammichelson
are you guys able to debug when running "npm run watch:test" ?
Shah Syed
@s37syed
no...i can't do anything.... lol
i was able to not only build a single js file in jspm, i have just finished porting over to that seed project. gonna see if i can load this on a server now...

Newby with webpack and angular2-webpack-stater. How can i separate my front end "angular2" bundle from my node js/ts files and at the same time sharing a data-interface.ts into the two world. wi: i want to have a "/api/my-server-api.ts"
sammichelson
@sammichelson
@s37syed you can't launch angular2-webpack-starter?
Shah Syed
@s37syed
@sammichelson i am able to launch angular2-webpack-starter, but when i port code from my angular2js project that i had already started producing, i'm unable to build it at all
i haven't figured out a way to do so as of now
sammichelson
@sammichelson
what's your error?
Shah Syed
@s37syed
it was exit 255 status, something to do with lack of output filename?
i gave up. i am trying to figure out how to bundle my app so i can deploy it on an apache server or something
Jason Miazga
@jmiazga
how would you run the e2e tests in CI/CD? when running tests locally the site needs to be running (npm run server). Is there a headless way to accomplish this?
binarious
@binarious
@jmiazga I did it with jenkins. It has a Xvfb plugin so it can open a browser. I'm starting the site in background and run the e2e tests.

Has anyone gotten this error relect-metadata shim is required when using class decorators?
Artur Rozwalak

hi guys, I was wondering if it's possible to configure webpack for production version to keep angular 2 components in separate files rather than putting everything in one big file?
I'm quite new to webpack and still can't understand vision about packing everything inline ;)
matthew harwood
@matthewharwood
You package everything inline for file size. If you want non inline code just don't use build.
