hi there, is there any documentation on how angular2-hmr works?

and how to use vanilla redux with it? (no rxjs, no ngrx)

Tanner Stirrat

I'm running into a different problem now. I updated to the most recent version of webpack, and I'm getting an error that says:

Error: Cannot resolve 'file' or 'directory' ./app in /home/tstirrat/project-gutenberg/node/src
Required in /home/tstirrat/project-gutenberg/node/src/main.browser.ts Error: Cannot resolve 'file' or 'directory' ./app in /home/tstirrat/project-gutenberg/node/src

But I've got app in that directory. ls output:

app assets custom-typings.d.ts index.html main.browser.ts npm-debug.log platform polyfills.ts vendor.ts

Any idea what's going on?

Tanner Stirrat
I figured it out. It turned out that the new version relied on an index.ts, which I had deleted, thinking I didn't need it. that meant that main.ts (or whatever its current equivalent is) was trying to import from a module that wasn't well-defined (or something to that effect)
Didier Hartong

Hello, any one knows how to async load a component that has child routes.
This works:

{ path: '/about', name: 'About', loader: () => require('es6-promise!./about')('About') },

But this throws an error:

{ path: '/...',  name: 'Exam',  loader: () => require('es6-promise!./exam')('Exam') },

The error is: "Tried to get instruction before the type was loaded".

An Xie
Could anyone tell me what's the purpose of those index.ts files?
Christophe HOARAU
@ShaneXie it's just the default file when you don't specify any one when you import a folder.

Hey everyone! Is there any smart way to update angular2-webpack-starter locally after having it used in an application? I removed the original git folder and replaced with mine git repo
Yaroslav Yakovlev
@zoamel what I did was going through the commits and updating manually. Doesnt look like a way to go but it worked for me :-)
Marcin Wojtczak
@yaroslavya yeah thats the way I'm doing it now but it's a little bit tedious :D

anyone here?

using the starter, I generate a dist folder for my application... When i try to run the application, everything within dist is dispatched to browser except for my vendor folder. I am using express to serve the app on top of this starter.

and I have few references to .js files from vendor/ in my index.html which obviously fail because the vendor folder is never dispatched to the browser.
any idea what am I doing wrong here?
Can anyone give some tips on how to resolve some TypeScript defintiton issues? Having some issues with duplicate identifiers between lib.es6.d.ts, and presumable core-js definitions, such as Duplicate identifier 'PropertyKey'.
I have tried to add the noLib: true to tsconfig.json, but that led to even more issues. Not sure how to go about getting core-js to play nicely with TypeScript when setting the target to es6

@all Anyone know of good plugins for tables in Angular 2?

Hi everyone, i'm just trying to switch to this start from angular2-seed (mainly because of the fast watching, which i really love!). With angular2-seed merging changes made in the seed into my own project was really easy, and i didnt see any mention about that here. How do you stay up-to-date with this starter?
duh, just saw the answer to this in the post by @yaroslavya . does anyone know an easier way to do this?
Hello guys, what would be the native way to install Foundation? Thanks.
Ok, so it turned out the bootstrap is much more better alternative, which provides native support for Angular2: https://github.com/valor-software/ng2-bootstrap

Hi everyone, I am a new to WebPack and Angular2 .. I really love angular2-webpack-starter and have started to get the hang of it. One issue though which I was not able to resolve is to use the dist folder generated from a "npm run build:prod or build:dev" and get it working on a web server like tomcat. I even tried it on CloudFoundry as well but with no success. The browser just shows the "Loading ..." message and the console has just one message "Unknown property '-moz-osx-font-smoothing'. Declaration dropped." , though I think this is not the reason for it not working. Any ideas what am I doing wrong ? do I need to defined something on tomcat like a new "mime-mapping" or something ? Any help will be greatly appreciated .. Thanks
Tarun Sukhu
Ok .. I was able to get it working on CloudFoundry. Apparently there was an issue in my app components . Here is what I did 1) npm run build:prod 2) made sure it was working using npm run server:prod 3) pushed the dist folder contents to Cloud Foundry using the build pack staticfile_buildpack and it worked fine . This working and deployed on http://angular2-app.cfapps.io/ .. I still could not get it working on tomcat 7 though ..
hi guys, anybody had a chance to use this starter in a hackathon situation? did it work out?
has anyone here tried using ng2-bootstrap ?
Colin Kearns
I am getting an errors trying to run npm run server, cannot find require, cannot find map, cannot find promise, etc, I assume this is a typings problem?
Arnold Krumins
hi Can anybody help on this one? When I run my app with 'npm run server:prod' I get this error. 'zone.js:461 Unhandled Promise rejection: Failed to load %5Bobject%20Object%5D ; Zone: angular ; Task: Promise.then ; Value: Failed to load %5Bobject%20Object%5D'
zone.js:101 GET http://localhost:8080/%5Bobject%20Object%5D 404 (Not Found)

@all Hi guys, i need to understand the webpack config in this project, trying to use it as an example for a project where i need NgUpgrade to work with legacy Ng1 app, help?
Thomas Sattlecker
Hi, I am getting "htmlLoader" is not allowed from webpack-validator
cant figure out why? any thoughts
Colin Kearns
hey guys, I have followed the starter best practices, but my style loading is a mess. I have a mix of bootstrap, some global styles, which i declare as stylesheets in the app component, and then individual component styles. I see that these are all being injected into the head inline (except the bootstrap, which is being applied with the bootstrap webpack loader, although I can't find it?), but my page load is a mess, as the page starts to load before the styles, can anyone explain to me what is going on and how to fix it? is this best practice for loading styles?
Colin Kearns
does anyone else's dev server only run for about 30 seconds before it dies?

Hey guys, I'm trying to have a component that has two different states with different URLs. I've added my second state to the foo.js file to the $stateProvider, but how should I handle that second state in my component/controller?
Carlos Esteban Lopez Jaramillo
@all is there a way to set flags in the config? something like progress: true in config instead of webpack --progress?
Hello guys, I have a mess in the console, I can’t debug properly since my stacktrace is within browser_adapter.js, zone.js, async.ts etc. Is it supposed to be this way, I mean sometimes I have problems figuring out where the error comes from. Thanks if anyone helps
Lol it’s funny how the last like 20 posts were unanswered pleas for help. Come on guys, we are COMMUNITY! :D
Hello, I'm trying to understand the file structure : why there is an index.ts file for every app component ?
I’m relatively new to ng2 but my assumption was that if you have multiple components in that dir and you want to include them all somewhere else you only have to include one file. In index.ts you would include the other components for that directory… (I had the same question…when I saw it)
thanks you're right
:) thanks for confirming.

this.http.get(...).map(...).catch is not a function
what do i do?
