Well I guess like you said its not specific to the Device Service really. I guess you could try pulling out service until you find the "turd in the punchbowl" or the "bad apple".

I'm experiencing some ponderous build times. What are some good starting points to comment-out webpack configuration that might be attributable to slow builds?
Tim Sandberg
Specifically, when I modify the code, the rebuild of bundles takes a crazy amount of time. Here's an example

@all I was watching ngConf 2016 and i was wondering, whats the procedure for lazy loading in Ng2 + Webpack? hrm? router based? can webpack provide lazy loading on it's own?
Of course it does using es6-promise loader.
@patrickjs is using it here to load the about view

@largeDachshund Can you check your ram usage? sometimes i get 20 sec compilation and some times i get > 1 min, i have noticed that this is because of ram space, if i fill my 4G ram with youtube tutorial videos, email, github doc pages and all that makes chrome heavy, the build process has to use the swap memory to be able to achieve their goal, my pc has SSD so it mitigates that issue a bit, but maybe it's your ram usage and not your configs that slow down the process.

I have (an older version of this starter) running locally without any problems.
but if i have it deployed in a docker container, its not requesting my main.bundle.js file.
both local and deployed versions are built and started with the same npm commands
anyone an idea why this could happen?
Tim Sandberg
@Luchillo I'll watch my process monitor on the next build. thanks for the tip

Heya, is Material dropped from this project? I saw all references being removed?
Sean Larkin
My guess is that @gdi2290 maybe didn't wanna have it in there yet since its in alpha still.
Dzmitry Shylovich
@msegers we have a branch that will always be updated

Guys, looking to add angular2 webpack..

Hi all! Any ideas on how to integrate Polymer into this kit?

There is an issue when trying to access nativeElement.style.width when handling events with angular 2 packed with Webpack. It doesn't alter it's value. For some strange reason, same project packed with Systemjs works fine. Anybody noticed this?

Hi! I'm looking forward to use Angular's http. I'd like to load datas from a database with PHP and get those datas with Angular's http. My question is : my code will be compiled. But what about those PHP files ? Actually, how can I make all this working?
@dev_funky_twitter you have to make a little cors config in your php files and thats it you can call it with the http service
Cyril Maréchal
I don't think I need to do any cross domain access config because it's on the same domain. (Am I wrong?) My question is more about : can I put my PHP files into /src/app/sqlservices/getThings.php? And is it ok for webpack? (no config needed?)
Thank you for your answer @Cramirez_92_twitter :-)

does anyone have any experience using SASS variables with the webpack starter?

@all Hi, anyone knows how to get semver in browser? it seems the npm package is an amd module since the error stack trace looks like this:
Uncaught TypeError: Invalid Version: function __webpack_require__(moduleId) { ... }
define.function.define.amd.semver    @    vendor.bundle.js:69
Hey, I'm trying to load a babylonjs .babylon file that I've copied into my local assests folder. The resource is trying to load as 'file.babylon.manifest?23423425' and obviously coming back with a 404 - not found? Why is that manifest part being added to the end? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I found a solution with the BabylonJS SceneLoader (splitting up the path and filename)
I’ve managed to bundle my code into a bundle.js but I would also like to be able to debug it properly, by putting breakpoints and stuffs directly within the typescript files. Right know I’ve got the different js files of the project, but not the ts ones.
How could I kind of “sourcemap the code twice”?
  • First: bundle.js -> all the js (done)
  • Second: all the js -> all the ts (not done yet)
Currently I’ve got this webpack.config.js:
module.exports = {
    entry: {
        app: ['./vendor.ts', './app/boot.ts', './assets/style/style.css']
        //vendor: './vendor.ts'
    output: {
        path: path.resolve(__dirname, "dist"),
        publicPath: '/assets/',
        filename: 'bundle.js',
        sourceMapFilename: "bundle.js.map"
    resolve: {
        extensions: ['', '.js', '.ts']
    devtool: '#source-map',
    module: {
        loaders: [
            { test: /\.ts$/, loader: 'ts-loader' },
            { test: /\.html$/, loader: 'raw-loader' },
            { test: /\.less$/, loader: 'style-loader!css-raw-loader!less-loader' },
            { test: /\.css$/, loader: 'style-loader!css-raw-loader' }

Hey guys in this starter pack there's a service for setting the app state is there anything about the best practices of using that service and where can I find more info?
Nicolas Forney
Hey there, what's the best solution to add global css located somewhere in the node_modules folder?
Is there a more "elegent" way to do it?

Hi guys, did anyone manage to setup html2js, for template cacheing in an Angualr 2 project?

I have loaders setup like this:

        test: /\.svg(\?v=\d+\.\d+\.\d+)?$/,
        loader: "url?limit=10000&minetype=image/svg+xml"
Doesn't angular material have icon support? Why use bootstraps
because angular 2 material2 is far from ready

Looking at WebPack Starter and was wondering if anybody has expanded to use Express for API access to MongoDB?
I cloned, ran the npm install directions. Then I hooked up with my browser to 3000. And there is no app folder in devtools. No way to debug the app. How is this useful?
Carlos Esteban Lopez Jaramillo
I like PrimeNg more than Material 2, more widgets and more configurable ones.
@foxjazz It's there, it's under webpack://src/
hi i want to know how to wait until its receives the response in ajax call in angular2
Anyone had trouble running a production build with materialize materialize.js:238 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot convert undefined or null to object ?
Btw it's working in dev mode, the weirdest is that i havent touched the webpack.dev neither the webpack.prod
@vouill The issue was coming from the minified code of main.js . unminifiying it made it work
hey everyone! I forgot how are we including assets in dist?
Sean Larkin
I think they are copied with the webpack copy plugin.
