@htmelton it worked a few days ago, now they are complaining about webgl not supported which doesn't make sense

@htmelton
I am getting IPFS stopped again when trying to run the app on Mac. Restarting the computer didn't help either. I can run it on Windows though.

@micahaza
Any idea how to install?
Michael Muré
@MichaelMure
@micahaza it works for me on linux with npm5 as well...
Maybe delete node_modules and app/node_modules and try again ?
Npm is a bit dumb sometimes
Or try yarn ?
Block And Decker
@micahaza
@MichaelMure will try and let you know the results
Block And Decker
@micahaza
npm 5.8.0, node v8.10.0 managed to install and run. Where can I get contacts? How can I chat with you @MichaelMure ?
Michael Muré
@MichaelMure
@micahaza i can run the app on my side, but I still have trouble with NAT and bad network in general
here is my id: QmXvr5qAeLU3MNkQN3edhZMSPC8uxLzz9CmoSjQAqYpNhP
i'll let it run for some time
Block And Decker
@micahaza
fetch contact profile: QmXvr5qAeLU3MNkQN3edhZMSPC8uxLzz9CmoSjQAqYpNhP
I guess this is an IPFS hash, right?
Error: Could not resolve name.
Michael Muré
@MichaelMure
that's the problem i'm talking about, somehow, two instance can't find each other in the ipfs network
so annoying
it's the hash of a public key and the name of an IPNS entry
could you give me your ID ?
Block And Decker
@micahaza
Which one it is?
Michael Muré
@MichaelMure
it's in the profile panel
Block And Decker

Michael Muré
@MichaelMure
hmmm weid ...
the entry resolve with the command line, but not with arbore ..
wtf
so it's the actual data fetch that fail
interesting
Block And Decker
@micahaza
I don't know
What I know I can not add you as a contact
Michael Muré
@MichaelMure
yeah :-|
sorry about that (_(
and your profile is available to a public node, but not to me
and now that I got it from the public node, I can add you in arbore
so that means that either getprovider fail or we can't talk to each other directly, most likely the latter
Michael Muré
@MichaelMure
so most likely the relaying doesn't work ...
@micahaza are you on a domestic internet ?
Block And Decker
@micahaza
domestic? What do you mean?
Michael Muré
@MichaelMure
sorry, like home internet connection
Block And Decker
@micahaza
I'm in Estonia and using wifi which I' paying for it.
yes, sort of
Using company internet access.
Through wifi and I have no internet problems
Michael Muré
@MichaelMure
yeah estonia, i liked tallinn :)
website access might works well, but p2p is much more difficult ...
beacause you have to punch trough NAT and firewall
and IPFS is not that great at it yet
Block And Decker
@micahaza
I'm working on an IPFS/crypto related project and we have experienced no problems at all.
Michael Muré
@MichaelMure
what's your project ?
