    Some useful stuff, you can interact with the service using:
    sudo service aurora status
    sudo service aurora stop
    sudo service aurora start

    And for full logging you can use:
    journalctl -f -u aurora

    Hello, does this work with dolby vision on netflix?
    Andrew MacPherson
    @AndrewMohawk
    Heya, the easycoolav HDMI switch doesn't support Dolby vision rn, but you can use HDR10 or one of the other HDRs with 4k np

    Most of the parts are here, some still on order! I'm looking forward to building this. I started with the software end so that will be ready since I already have a Pi 4 here.

    I'm not super familiar with linux, so I've already hit a couple problems.

    One I figured out ... the wpa_supplicant file has to have the .conf extension to work. That gave me some trouble (might want to mention that for newbies like me!)

    Now when I run your command line, it starts the Aurora script, stops, and says "This script must be run as root, please use sudo" but when I put sudo in front of your command line, it still gives me the same error. Any pointers? I'm on a windows box, using Putty to ssh in. Thank you for any pointers!

    I'm close to wrapping up my project here. Seems like I'm having some power issues. I have about 340 LEDs.
    I'm using this. I thought it should be enough by powering each side of the strip. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B1QKLSM
    Is the ground from the power supply supposed to be connecting to the pi or is the LED strip connecting to the negative pin enough?
    Andrew MacPherson
    @AndrewMohawk
    What are the power issues you are having?
    That power supply should be ample for them, damn @ 340 LEDs, thats a big screen!
    The Pi just needs common ground, so either connect it to the strip or to the -5v / gnd of the PSU
    Did you get a test connector for the LED strip?
    Chris Harrod
    @thechrisharrod_twitter
    Yeah the LEDs seem to power on test just fine so I'm messing something up. Seems to work for a second and then goes into red LEDs. Seems like a power issue.
    Andrew MacPherson
    @AndrewMohawk
    so they work fine like for colours/etc with the test thing?
    If it just does it when you connect the Pi it could just be Aurora not picking up any input
    Andrew MacPherson
    @AndrewMohawk
    you can switch to the rainbow to test since that will power them all

    got everything i need to finish mine, i'm going to make a project board with the pi, psu, and splitter attached to it and since I'm not mounting my tv to the wall I'll use the vesa holes to mount that to the back of the TV, hoping to have it up and running tomorrow

    sorry is this chat room for general discussion about the project or only for help if you cant get past a certain issue? I don't want to bug you if it's just for help if you absolutely need it

    @ryan.pfl_gitlab
    I have everything soldered, I just have a wiring question, do you use the two extra power and ground for anything?
    Andrew MacPherson
    @AndrewMohawk
    Its for everything
    (the chat room), its just easier for people to ask
