why not just buy the license?
Or did they alteady fully drop perpetual?
oooooh
one sec...
@SuperJMN if it is a DataSource, youd create an empty object property in the class
Class.Empty
add it explicitly
ComboBox.Items.Add(0, Class.Empty);
then when reading the selection

if (ComboBox.SelectedValue == Class.Empty (blah))
or in which case youd add the item directly to the datasource
pretty much it

Is there HyperV for OSX?
What are they using as a hypervisor?
Egor Bogatov
@EgorBo
Nov 18 2015 19:02
I have no idea
I wonder too
Nikita Tsukanov
@kekekeks
Nov 18 2015 19:02
Because HyperV doesn't work on my windows box for some reason
Egor Bogatov
@EgorBo
Nov 18 2015 19:02
with HyperV enabled I can't use other VM on windows :(
Nikita Tsukanov
@kekekeks
Nov 18 2015 19:02
VMWare works, VirtualBox works, HyperV refuses to "load some of its components"

I wonder if we could build coreclr for android. If we want to target Android without xamarin that will allow us to get remote debugging from VS
Windowing support can be implemented in C++ using NativeActivity
So, basically, it will be a classic native android app
That won't allow people to use a lot of things, but that's a quickstart
Egor Bogatov
@EgorBo
Nov 18 2015 21:49
um.. what stops you from debugging android from vs now? :)
Nikita Tsukanov
@kekekeks
Nov 18 2015 21:49
Well, VS can only debug native code
And we want managed one
which currently requires xamarin license
which is a bit expensive
Egor Bogatov
@EgorBo
Nov 18 2015 21:50
do you have any similiar solution for ios too? ;)
Nikita Tsukanov
@kekekeks
Nov 18 2015 21:50
@jakesays has

BTW, M$ is developing LLVM backend for their C++ compiler
So .NET native can theoretically run on iOS
There is also that sharplang project

Nov 18 2015 21:53
without xamarin it will not be easy to integrate 3rd parties to your apps
e.g. Facebook native login
Nikita Tsukanov
@kekekeks
Nov 18 2015 21:53
Yep, that will be tricky

Nov 18 2015 21:54
Have you tried to download packages directly?
danwalmsley
@danwalmsley
Nov 18 2015 21:54
I wasnt able to access them last time
Nikita Tsukanov
@kekekeks
Nov 18 2015 21:55

@danwalmsley
Nov 18 2015 21:58
@kekekeks do I have to add Perspex.Desktop nuget package seperatly?
or should adding Perspex pull it in automatically?
Nikita Tsukanov
@kekekeks
Nov 18 2015 21:58
It seems that nuget is somehow broken for you
So, no automatic pulls
danwalmsley
@danwalmsley
Nov 18 2015 21:59
just seen Perspex.Desktop in nuget list... it didnt exist last time I was working on stuff... could that have something to do with it?
do I need Perspex.Skia.Desktop also?
Nikita Tsukanov
@kekekeks
Nov 18 2015 21:59
blob
No, Skia backend isn't needed by desktop apps
We might want to replace Direct2D or, especially, Cairo in the future
But right now skia will be mainly used by mobile
danwalmsley
@danwalmsley
Nov 18 2015 22:02
for Desktop app the nuget package I should install is Perspex.Desktop now?
rather than Perspex?
Nikita Tsukanov
@kekekeks
Nov 18 2015 22:03
Perspex + Perspex.Desktop
Perspex package only contains PCL
danwalmsley
@danwalmsley
Nov 18 2015 22:03
ok
man nuget is so unreliable for me
Nikita Tsukanov
@kekekeks
