Right now its one of the controls which is why its there however because it is a port it is not integrated into the Controls library
Grokys wanted to separate the two.

Guys another curious question... Now that .net core is rtm, skia backend is "working" what blocks the move to .net core?

Oh! Didnt saw that
So, looks like the problems were solved hehehe
And yes, I agreed that the designer doesnt help that much
If it was really previewing what is executes on the target (including binding evaluation) then it maybe has some value
But intellisense is much more usable than that
Also, that designer will not work on VSCode
A nice thing that xamarin guys did was live preview and edit on the device simulator
But that doesn't require the designer inside the IDE

True, I guess the designer came about because I started learning WPF using the drag drop capabilities of the WPF Designer, however the designer was retarded so I started only using it to see what I was doing.
It just made it easier to imagine what I was really doing when I first tried writing in it.
In reality, we dont have to have a visual designer but I know a small group of people might want it.
Ofc I agree something like that shouldnt keep us from going to net core, but Im against the idea that it is useless.
One big thing is that because we are developing the designer, we have a lot of say as to how it operates.... who to say that we can't make the designer much smarter than the WPF designer and keep it agnostic of the markup language and so on and so forth.

That's just my opinion though hehe, I am a noob and have not contributed to the core, just the extension and the first attempt at an android port xD
