Doing some research here. I saw that OmniXAML now supports .net core (at least in the core project). Has anyone made an Avalonia app work in .net core on a mac? We are trying to figure out how to cross-platform our WPF app and this seems to be the brightest star.

@curea not quite yet, but efforts are being made, I believe its likely to be ready once vs2017 is released
as new .net core csproj tooling will be available
we have a couple of PRs that are WIP where attempts have been made to start this work
its definitely going to happen very soon though

@danwalmsley That seems to be what I was reading in the PR's. How can I help?

Well now that vs2017 RC is out, I was planning (all though I don't have time just yet)
to start creating project files
under the new tooling in vs2017 rc
and then gradually seeing what I need to do to port each project,
people have had a few basic things rendering so far

I am in the process of installing the 2017 preview right now.

if you want to dive in you could create a branch with projects converted to the new format under vs2017
its pretty good btw, crashes quite a bit for c++ but .net and c# seem stable
if you start a WIP pr with that, maybe this week I can dive in and start helping
I'm busy today, but if you need any pointers I will keep an eye on this chat
