Hey @cwensley! Have you had luck creating a DataTemplate in WPF/UWP from scratch?
I have tried with WPF, but everything is internal/private :( it's even worse for UWP

yeah the "recommended" way is now to parse xaml at runtime.. bleh

I haven't found a way other than using the factory either, but I don't really need it as I don't use Portable.Xaml with WPF.

is there any hope of progress in the .net core dept?
seems like avalonia made such quick progress with some things like skia support etc
I was hoping to use avalonia to build a .net core cross platform install framework
