@grokys I think that TopLevel's Closed should be renamed to Destroyed
Since that's what actually happens there

Makes sense

Well, for now, please, take a look at #899

Regarding clearing the surface in the drawing context: how do you think that should happen?

I we should clean it when external (non-bitmap) render target is created
Because we can't rely on previous contents being preserved anyway
And since BitmapRenderTarget will be represented by bytearray, DirectX texture or OpenGL FBO
It should be safe to use it as temporary storage

@grokys I was banned from GitHub
Account flagged, blablabla

I've created an issue with long text in our repo
And then got "you got flagged message"
no idea why
I suppose you can't see #900 , right?
That's funny
@grokys your spam-detection robots have broken avalonia's commits page

Well, that's why I keep my commercial projects on bitbucket

@danwalmsley @grokys @Seeker1437

I'd like to hear your thoughts about this #900

It should be pretty a cool idea, since it engaged GitHub's free-speech suppression engine )

yeah, sounds good to me from a high level
also: very strange that was marked as spam!

The thing that concerns me is that we need to reference JSON.NET
Steven Kirk
@grokys
Feb 18 2017 18:06 UTC
could we use simplejson to avoid that?
Nikita Tsukanov
@kekekeks
Feb 18 2017 18:06 UTC
Does it support BSON?
yeah i doubt it
Nikita Tsukanov
@kekekeks
Feb 18 2017 18:07 UTC
We'll be transferring bitmaps over the wire
So it would be counterproductive to use plain JSON
Steven Kirk
@grokys
Feb 18 2017 18:08 UTC
could we create a temporary file for the bitmaps?
Nikita Tsukanov
@kekekeks
Feb 18 2017 18:08 UTC
Won't work for Droid/iOS
I still want those remote devtools
Steven Kirk
@grokys
Feb 18 2017 18:09 UTC
yeah, true, i worry that transferring bitmaps over json would be slow though
Nikita Tsukanov
@kekekeks
Feb 18 2017 18:09 UTC
BSON is fine
Since it's binary
I could just reinvent the wheel and create my own bson reader/writer
Steven Kirk
@grokys
Feb 18 2017 18:10 UTC
yeah, not sure - a dependency on json.net isn't ideal...
Nikita Tsukanov
@kekekeks
Feb 18 2017 18:11 UTC
Well, we don't need serialization performance, so we could get away with simple reflection-based serializer
Steven Kirk
@grokys
Feb 18 2017 18:13 UTC
by all means take a dependency on json.net at first, we can remove it if necessary

@grokys I've tested #840 in my app and layoutupdated works perfectly in my case.
