Andrea Sonny
@andreasonny83
Jul 21 2016 19:56

but because the client app is now served from the server side we need something capabale of routing and I used express
Billy B.
@Azurasky1
Jul 21 2016 19:57
r we gonna be able to do that? serve the client from the server
doesn't something like that use a lot of resources
Andrea Sonny
@andreasonny83
Jul 21 2016 20:01
no no, is the best solution
in this way we can have a really fast communication between client and server
Billy B.
@Azurasky1
Jul 21 2016 20:01
ok ya i thought the way it worked as have every client have their own individual copy of the game
Andrea Sonny
@andreasonny83
Jul 21 2016 20:02
are the player going to loose health based of timelapse?
Billy B.
@Azurasky1
Jul 21 2016 20:02
and then use the server to update and confirm things like coordinates, player stats etc.
nope i only included that for testing purposes w/ the health bar
Andrea Sonny
@andreasonny83
Jul 21 2016 20:03
can we add an extra losing of power based on that? something really small?
Billy B.
@Azurasky1
Jul 21 2016 20:03
if we want yea don't see a purpose for that though
Andrea Sonny
@andreasonny83
Jul 21 2016 20:05
just to avoid having players not interacting with the app
I set a value to 5 minutes
I cammit my new changes now so you can see the healthbar as well
try a git pull on develop now. You should be able to see the healthbar

a better way to handle that would be to simply time palyers out after a certain period of inactivity
Andrea Sonny
@andreasonny83
Jul 21 2016 20:11

Andrea Sonny
@andreasonny83
Jul 21 2016 21:06
what do you mean?
Billy B.
@Azurasky1
Jul 21 2016 21:06
well
i had to clone the repository again to update the files
and when i use gulp serve it told me i had to install it again
it just gets tedious having to install it constantly
Andrea Sonny
@andreasonny83
Jul 21 2016 21:07
in theory you should only run git pull develop
Billy B.
@Azurasky1
Jul 21 2016 21:08
right i did htat and it worked but i want to be able to see the changes in real-time
