Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Dunno. I'm out tonight so I'll have a look tomorrow.
Cupropituvanso Draco
@Cupropituvanso
Hello :)
I was out of business because of moving to our new home, but now I am back ... and everything is new?
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Embrace the new!
Cupropituvanso Draco
@Cupropituvanso
I have no problem with new ... But now I have learn what has changed
My GitHub Sync shows that the files had been changed 7 Months ago? Or is there also something new?
OftKilted
@OftKilted
If you didn’t show up for stuff. Others likely had to do stuff with it. We haven’t been entirely dead around here :sparkles:
Basically. Nothing from 7 months ago is useful. If almost nothing. ~7 months ago the new version of bs was released right around he same time as the new GHB
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Basically, nothing has been done since Battlescribe 2.0 was released.
OftKilted
@OftKilted
^^ what he said
And bs 2.0 changed loads
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
I'm currently working through Chaos and writing up how I'm doing it into the wiki.
if you want to claim a catalogue and start doing the same, please do.
OftKilted
@OftKilted
So, what stuff were you working on prior to taking leave?
Cupropituvanso Draco
@Cupropituvanso
Wood Elves
OftKilted
@OftKilted
Well... that isn’t really a thing ...
Wood elves are pretty much entirely compendium.
Cupropituvanso Draco
@Cupropituvanso
I am sorry, I am not 100% understanding your formulations ;) I try to translate it via Google in german g
what does that mean, they are compendium?
what has changed in BS 2.0?
OftKilted
@OftKilted
Are you familiar with the changes to The 2017 Generals Handbook?
Cupropituvanso Draco
@Cupropituvanso
I have started reading it today g
OftKilted
@OftKilted
Wood elves as in Sylvaneth, or wood elves as in “Wood Elves”
Cupropituvanso Draco
@Cupropituvanso
Wood elves as "Wanderer" and "Sylaneth"
OftKilted
@OftKilted
@Mad-Spy So, we’re keeping with the Grand Alliance catalog breakdown? Not into the smaller factions?
The GHB 2017 Edition basically adds Allies and removes many of the old units from before age of sigmar
Cupropituvanso Draco
@Cupropituvanso
oh okay
OftKilted
@OftKilted
Hey can be played in “Narrative” but not in Matched Play because the units don’t have points anymore. And the warscrolls lost keywords.
Hey = they
So, sylvaneth/wanderers can now have any of the order units as Allies, while not loosing the Allegiance benefits
Cupropituvanso Draco
@Cupropituvanso
oh ok
We are playing only "Pitched Battles", which now Open Play?
no OpenPlay seems to be something differnent too ...
But what does these changes have affect on BattleScribe? I had understand that BattleScribe is for creating armies for pitched battles? And our job is to implement the Units and Rules from the Fraction-Books in BS.
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
@OftKilted, I don't think it's really needed. We can do Allies within the catalogues, so there's no real need to split them out.
OftKilted
@OftKilted
So there is “Open Play” (which is basically Narrative”) and “Matched Play”
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
In Open Play there are no real rules on army composition.
You can take a Skaven and Elves army if you want to.
OftKilted
@OftKilted
(They’re now Aelves ;) )
(Tm)
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
:tm:
In Pitched Battle play, there are limits on which units you can take based on a "Pitched Battle Faction". You can only include units which are in your Faction, or specified Allies Factions.
Cupropituvanso Draco
@Cupropituvanso
Aelves are not new in 2017!? They did exist since AoS, or now? I mean I am using the Aelves selection to build my wood elves army from Wanderer and Sylaneth
OftKilted
@OftKilted
@Mad-Spy So the side challenge, from an upkeep perspective, is that some folks may not have an interest in keeping up an entire Grand Alliance.
Cupropituvanso Draco
@Cupropituvanso
yes
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
it's not a huge issue, we'll just need to be more careful with merges.
OftKilted
@OftKilted
@Cupropituvanso the change from Old world to Age of Sigmar changed the names from Elf to Aelf. I was making an attempt at language humor. And GW changing to trademarkable (TM) or (C) copywritable language
Cupropituvanso Draco
@Cupropituvanso
and what is now the affect of our work in BS?
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Read through the page I've put up on the wiki regarding implementation guidelines.
Cupropituvanso Draco
@Cupropituvanso
okay
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
it's not finished, but it should give you a start.
