How do we handle rules that only apply when a certain condition is met? For example, in the Space Wolves vehicle squadrons, a Vindicator squadron only benefits from the Linebreaker Bombardment (gets the special attack) when there are 3 Vindicators in the squadron. Do we add the rule even if the user has only chosen one Vindicator or is there a way to add it conditionally?

you hide it if the condition is not met.

they were simple fixes tbh
Just in the middle of a load of work so don't want to side track
Flakk missles on the dev missile launcher needs the maxSelections setting to 1
and the Ven Dread squadron need the minSelections setting to 0

The problem all stems from my personal fork, i removed it but for some reason it pooled all of your pushes into a merge locally, i saw 8 files changed and reverted, when my local version pushed it had "re-Writen" your update again so my revert undid your changes.

I always work out of a third directory. One for BS, one for Git, one for development. I have drag and drop batch files called Test.bat and Release.bat. If I drag the file from the dev folder, it will put it in either BS or Git folder for testing or release. Make it a habit of always syncing Git before copying any files into the Release.bat and things will run smooth

I probably should, shouldn't I... I forget not everybody thinks like me
If anybody has a mouse with the thumb number pad I have another really awesome tip for you :)
Since most mice like that have software that allows multiple profiles, I have one set up for coding. the numbers are all Ctrl+1/2/3/4/5/whatever, corresponding to the hotkeys for this program: http://www.paludour.net/TenClips.html
Ten clipboards, ten things to switch to for copy/paste from a hotkey. Oh yeah, I'm a geek.
correction, only 9 are hotkeyed, the remaining three buttons are for my music controls. Previous, Pause/Play, and Forward

Guys, when you have a special rule that mentions other special rules, but is in effect only under certain conditions. How do you go on about adding the additional rules? In this instance I'm talking about vehicle squadron rules which are only in effect if you take 3 vehicles in the squadron. Now, I set the rule to be hidden unless 3 vehicles are chosen, but when it's shown I'd like to have it include the other special rules it brings into effect, if possible without appearing separately for the vehicles or the squadron. For example the Monster Hunter and Tank Hunters rules that the Predator Squadron gets for Space Wolves. Is there a way to do this?
OftKilted
@OftKilted
Mar 02 2016 21:46
@SuperPranx typically those are "mentioned" in the rule but not "turned on"
E.g. Daemons of Khorne gives the "daemon and furious charge" rule. But we don't enumerate all the way down.
Mainly because we aren't trying to supplant requiring having s rulebook
So, in the "hidden rule" you'd add that it gives the "Monster Hunter and Tank Hunters" but not enumerate them into the rules list

@SuperPranx did that help?

@SuperPranx
Mar 02 2016 21:57
Ok, thanks. That's exactly what I wanted to know :)
Since I still need to check the rules from time to time when I play I find it useful if I have all of them printed out in the summary, but if that's the way we do it then it's ok. I'll just make a summary list for myself then.
Yes it did, thanks

@OftKilted
Mar 02 2016 21:57
That has been the way we do it typically.
Potentially, if we start doing that, we will also end up with folks wanting that for every single release. Which can create both feature creep... And more bugs.
Hiding and showing stuff is sometimes flaky in 1.15
We've had discussions on completely pulling out "rules" and leaving in page numbers only and books. (That was way back when they had just started digital codecis)

I understand. I just wanted to know how to proceed when I encounter such cases.
I, for one, wouldn't be for removing rules. The way they are listed is extremely helpful.
Perhaps for more experienced players it's not needed, but for starting players it pure gold. I'm talking about my learning experience, of course.

@SuperPranx I'm not an experienced player. I'vet been in the hobby for ages, but I just got back into it. And having my own copy of the rules and reading them is good practice. :-)
But I haven't played seriously since 5th
