And it looks like we now have a third person working on Deathwatch with @flakpanda jumping in.

Yeah. I was frustrated with it. So I just did it.

Not the right way to go about that. We have a person already working on a new one.
And a third trying to edit it as the first works on it

Probably. It got done thought. Minus my cat id flub before I crashed.

You can keep the smug attitude over in the AoS repo, we have a joint effort of people working here, and they likely had a fix in progress for the issues.

It got done isn't how we work here. Aos has 4 cat files with 4~ people working. We have a lot more here

Actually I think most of the AoS work has been done just by @flakpanda, he deleted anything else that existed before doing it his way

I put a small bit of work in, but yea. I think 1 or 2 more have joined in the other alliances.

Do the other ones have any substance to them, or just points listings like Chaos does? It had some stats in it already before it was wiped

Either way, point stands that We don't just replace cats here. Issues and discussions here in gitter is how the 40k repo works.
Dunno, I stopped working on it before they showed up

1)I was agreeing and being matter-of-fact. Not smug. 2) I archived the previous AoS files, not deleted them. There are still in the repo. There was no activity on the repo for over 9 months as well.
The previous design would not work for the points system for AoS as well.

If you plan on including any information at all beyond points, these files are going to be massive and a huge pain in the ass to work with

They won't beat out SM.
Just sayin
Either way, AOS aside - this is 40k's repo. We don't just replace cat files like that here.

I understand that they will be, but it will be easy after initial data entry as it is a living game and not editions. I am sorry for helping and fixing something. I didn't think someone's panties would get in a twist over it.
I didn't replace it though. Only fixed the current one.
Earl Bishop

People's panties "Get in a twist" because it is a brand new file that has a maintainer who is currently working on it.
Issues, discussion. That's how 40k repo works.
One person's fixes may not mesh with changes in progress by the maintainer.
Requiring more work

Shit got real, didn't it. #2425. That's about what happens when you mess with switching files and cat IDs while not keeping everything under strict control.
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Aug 27 2016 19:30
What causes that since there is still only one on the github page?

@flakpanda, @cartag, @Kohato honestly, the two other people who've shown initial interest (and committed their new files) are not exactly active right now. So @flakpanda you did a bit of a right thing (none of these people have assigned themselves to bugs he fixed). What you've failed at is messing with IDs, at least that's what I suspect not really diving into details.
@flakpanda if you change catalogue name, or its ID, BattleScribe treats that as a new file when updating by Manage Data.
Don't ask me exactly how or why, I don't know its source code, but yeah. It messes things up.
I meant changing catalogue filename.

Shit. My bad. I didn't intent to upload the file with the different ID

I checked, you've changed it. Fix pushed and released. Let's hope not much people made an update today. And... just be more careful next time. Contributions are welcome, however. :)
