Np. All codex files should at least work initially with BS2. This is just a tracker bug so we can get everything optimized
I say Should because my new SM file should work too ... but it doesn't lol

Can someone tell me if, when we switch for 2.0 gst, the catalogues for 1.15 will still work with it? After release to appspot?
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Oct 27 2016 17:08
Yes.
The only 1.15 ones that won't work are the ones we've already modified to work with it (SM, Chaos and it's counterparts, and Necrons, as well as harleys)
but taht won't be an issue, because we have the 2.0 ones ready to go

For anything that's been updated, I say we reset version number to 1
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Oct 27 2016 18:36
Agreed, major data change should reset revisions. However. We're using the same repo name.
So every time we update a cat file and revert to 1, it won't update on a user's device
unless the purge
but they have no way of knowing when to purge
I'm for reverting to revision 1 as well, but i'm not sure how to get around that :/

@cartag Once we're ready to push data over, I've rolled Necrons, Necrons Dark Harvest, and Space Marines: Codex to revision 1. Space Marines is fixed now and works again.
So we can copy those directly from wh40kBS2

The biggest changes to make to existing codexes are
1) Delete BRB rules/profiles from codex file - they are now all present in GST and able to be linked to.
2) Move any faction specific detachment/force type (Great Waaaaaagh, Angelis Strike Force, etc) into the codex file, then delete from the GST. - This will ultimately serve to ehance user experience by eliminating useless force types. In BS2.0 you select your army first, then your force. So you choose the army, and then you'll only see the basic detachment choices + codex specific ones, instead of everything under the sun.

Ooh. i like the formation change
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Oct 27 2016 20:39
Yea, that'll clean up the UI rather nicely when making lists.
the first one is an invisible change that won't affect a user, but will reduce a bit of line bloat in the xml file.
Cartag also added the fortifications to the GST as well so it's not a separate codex file and I added the psyker powers in

I just wish the cards GW made were standard size
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Oct 27 2016 20:46
Aren't all the psyker power boxes the same size?
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Oct 27 2016 20:47
Yeah, but I wish the card were playing card sized and not oversized.
That way I could have for them into sleeves or a pocket page
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Oct 27 2016 20:48
Ohhh, yea that would be nice.
Never thought of that

With the pocket pages or slaves you can use dry erase markers on them. Make a note of who has what/used the Power
Been debating on getting my set laminated just for this
Gets a bit ridiculous with like 20 cards when playing gray knights
They're 110mmx75mm - so those should fit

Together with my friend I've been creating my own design of psypower cards just for this purpose, writing python script + finding crazy images on the Internet. It was fun to make those cards and it's fun to play with them.
After that we've made another bunch for maelstorm objectives :)
