That is the correct way to auto select, agree an autoselect would be easier, and having a hidden default -1/-1 would be great so modifiers can be done without a constraint line.

in places where I used to have a modifier on a link, it's been translated to a constraint on the link target (usually to -1), and a modifier on the constraint, instead, it can now be just a constraint on the link, no?

there are also some unnecessary constraints where a selection was "up to X from [list of links]" now each of the links has a modifier that targets a -1 constraint on the link target, to set the min/max when the Selection Group itself already has a min/max that is sufficient. (except where the max for one option is "up to 1").

in this second case, the modifier is redundant and unnecessary. and even so, could be handled with a constraint on the link.

if there's a condition on the constraint, then the "automatic conversion" (modify the constraint on the link target) has to be used since you can only put a condition on a modifier and not onto the constraint.

There are very few things these days that are Battle Formations.
And it stands out because it's nothign but fortifications..... but it appears in all of the factions' list of Battle Formations in an Apoc detachment.

it seems that if I have a selection which provides a rule, the rule is now shown as belonging to the model as a whole, and not just the weapon that provides the rule.

Ok. a hard day of work, and the Tau file is almost done. I've just got to normalize the Selection Groups again.
as for the above output quirk, if it's always been that way, then I'll add all the weapon Special Rules in. otherwise, I'll leave them off of the Selections so it doesn't show things like "Riptide gets Twin-Linked on all its guns".

I think it worked that way in 1.15 as well. I spent some time trying to fix it on some model, and eventually gave up.

In this case, since BS is unable to separate Special Rules on a Unit vs on a Model vs on a Weapon, maybe we should add a "Special Rules" column to the Unit Profile similar to the Weapon Profile?

Ah. Pretty sure I nailed it down. I was playing around with putting the "Show Forgeworld" in different places. I think it has to be in the "Shared Selection Entries" for it to be used as a trigger to show and hide things the way you want. I think because it is an ordinary "Selection Entry" instead of a shared one it isn't working for some reason.

I am also the maintainer for the Eldar, Corsair and Harlequins.... and I think Dark Eldar, too, but I don't remember
how well is BS2 going to handle the complete cross-reference nightmare that is Corsairs?
I figure that I should probably work on them in the same order: Eldar, Dark, Harlequin, Corsair

My (very limited) observation has been that the transition is relatively straight forward. None of the fancy things I did broke, just some of the more basic ones. I think you should go in that order, but I wouldn't stress out about it until you see that there are problems.

lots of overlap. they're basically share all the low-end everything (weapons, equipment, and such) between Eldar and Dark and Harlequin
and share the relics too.

In some places, Corsairs are able to recruit Eldar or DE units.
in v1.15, of course they were separate cat files.
I tried to cut/paste as much of the raw xml as possible when I started each.

It's probably for the best actually. A dakkajet has a different points cost depending of if it is taken from a Dread Mob or an Ork Codex list, even though the unit entry is the same.

In short - BS2 only really changed the way constraints/conditionals work (and apparently show/hide)
the way you have them set up in 1.15 SHOULD work, as long as you clear up the now borked conditionals/constraints

one of the selections is a Venerable dread
that should be hidden if not the Iron Hands MDEC
