Yah, I just looked too, it's only special ammo for bolters that specifically states choose ammo and stick with it until your next shooting phase...

if any IC can take a stormshield for example you can do that. If there is ANY way to get a 4++ via anything you get down to a 2++ rerolling ones

Only way you're getting rid of that in the next century is if you plan on stomping it to death :P

Hmmm... Remind me what damage does not allow invulnerable saves to be taken...? Is it just D weapons??
Because I don't think there are any D weapons in the Deathwatch armoury... Time for some allies I think...
Dirk Bachert
@Thairne
Nov 30 2016 10:31
Yep, that and a few SR like Vindicare's shildbreaker ammo
a 6 on a D-Wound does that
And a Heads-up for those that don't monitor the issue: Kill Teams can be done in your catalogues with the simple inclusion of a link in your entries, see BSData/wh40k#2535

Cool, I was thinking about adding an assassin anyway :-) and yes, are you going to add the list to the kill team issue on Git?
Scratch that, thanks for adding!

;)
Just had a thought on 1k Sons and the Invul thing.
Even if the ENTIRE Codex has NO way of giving an invul...
Skyshield Landing pad. instant 4++. Cursed earth 3++. Blessing on those things improve invul by 1. 2++, reroll ones. With enough psystuff use geomancy and shift the landing pad around.
Uh....
AP3 Deathstar. Also, try charging up that thing. Hurrrrr.

@FarseerVeraenthis I have a branch open for the Ork Codex, and it looks like you just made some changes.
I made a bunch of changes to implement the Kill Team specialists. What sort of changes did you make?
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Nov 30 2016 16:24
Oh, sorry, I just moved the mek... And yes I should have checked first... Sorry!
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 16:24
No problem
Where did you move the mek to?
I'll just do it in my branch
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Nov 30 2016 16:25
Literally o just changed the mek from HQ to no force org, per the bug report
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 16:25
Oh. A mek isn't No Force Org
It can be an HQ
You can take one as No Force Org as well provided you have a big mek or Warboss.
I'm pretty sure it is setup right, but I'll check.
Hmmm.... OK I see the problem. I'll get it figured out.
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Nov 30 2016 16:37
I did see that, but I thought it was such a crap HQ choice no-one would take it...
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 16:38
It is really, really cheap, so if you need more fast attack or something you take it as the cheapest HQ tax.
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 16:47
OK, so I've got 2 Mek entries, and I'd really like to merge them into 1. Problem is sometimes a Mek is a squad upgrade (Lootas, Burnas), and sometimes it is a Separate FOC choice.
So as a Squad upgrade I set the constraint to "Max 1 in Parent". For the HQ choice it just takes an HQ slot, and for the "No Force Org" Choice I set it as "Max 0 in Roster", and then increment it as you take units that unlock it.
Do you guys have any thoughts on how I can modify those constraints to make it a single entry?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 17:01
Ah. figured it out.

I wonder if that R&H bug is a BS bug - I noticed yesterday that sometimes if I delete a roster in BS on iOS, then come back 5 min later, that roster pops back up
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Nov 30 2016 17:31
Rosters or data files?
because this is an issue of obsolete data files not being removed when the user deletes their local data.
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 17:35
I've got the Mek FOC changes made by @FarseerVeraenthis in-cooperated into my branch. I sent a pull request to merge my branch in. My changes can override his. How do I resolve that Pull Request?
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Nov 30 2016 17:41
Good question... Should I "undo" mine somehow...?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 17:45
Is that possible?
Dirk Bachert
@Thairne
Nov 30 2016 17:50
I guess you need to fix the conflict manually
I have no idea how to do that in the app, I think that works either with the command line or using another app...@amis92 to the rescue!
duh.
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 17:51
That is fine. How do I do that?

Nov 30 2016 17:51
@amis92 to the rescue!
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 17:53
If nothing else, I can probably Ditch my Branch and recreate one, then manually modify the file to bring in my changes.
Dirk Bachert
@Thairne
Nov 30 2016 17:54
that would work temporarily - but do you want to do that everytime that happens?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 17:54
Not if I don't have to. I'd rather learn how to do it, than do a work-a-round.
I was expecting it, but I expected it to ask me which file wins in conflicts instead of just fail the merge.
Dirk Bachert
@Thairne

Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Nov 30 2016 18:03
I wonder if I can resolve it by rolling back my changes or something... Unfortunately I have to put my little rascal to bed so I can't look just now but I'll fire the cogitator up in a little while (sorry for causing grief...)
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 18:04
@FarseerVeraenthis No problems at all. The grief is probably more on my head. Just bad timing between the two of us. I appreciate your help.

Pretty sure not. I think that will come out when they finalize the codex FAQ's

Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Nov 30 2016 19:45
well, I don't know exactly what will happen, but apparently I can send a revert to "undo" the changes...
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 19:47
So it looks like that turned into a pull request.
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Nov 30 2016 19:48
apparently it has reverted the master back to version 2001... which I assume is what you started working on...?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 19:48
Yeah. It still wasn't good to go, so i reverted my 1st pull requests.

@FarseerVeraenthis
Nov 30 2016 19:50
sorry for causing loads of hassle...
and @flakpanda what are you doing to the deathwatch list??
fixing the entry doubling??
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 19:51
No worries. I'm not feeling hastled, more like I have an opportunity to learn something new.
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Nov 30 2016 19:51
only thing i can do to fix it is remove default selections as it is a BS bug atm
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Nov 30 2016 19:52
ok, that's cool, I hope it doesn't take too long to redo... at least we know we can revert, but obviously we didn't do it properly...
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Nov 30 2016 19:52

Nov 30 2016 19:56
ok, I see there was some trouble, how's it standing now? anything I can help
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 19:56
Simon and I both created branches at the same time.
And both modified the same file. We communicated, and resolved our issues, but because we both had pull requests we couldn't figure out how to get mine merged in.
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Nov 30 2016 19:57
@amis92 im having trouble with the editor not letting me delete an item, and locking up when i try. i know they are having ork? problems
Amadeusz Sadowski
@amis92
Nov 30 2016 19:57
ok, so you've got two branches, each one different from master?
@flakpanda I can't help with that, sorry. I really don't like the editor :D
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 19:57
We did. i just deleted mine so that I could recreate one that was capable of merging.
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Nov 30 2016 19:57
yeah, i might manually delete it at this point
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 19:58
I knew that the files wouldn't match, but I figured Github would let me pick a winner instead of just failing the merge.
Amadeusz Sadowski
@amis92
Nov 30 2016 19:58
@tag8833 and how's that going?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 19:58
I'm pretty sure I have a workaround, but for my own edification I'd like to know the right way to do it.
Amadeusz Sadowski
@amis92
Nov 30 2016 19:59
ok, but is one of those pull requests already merged?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 19:59
We both submitted and merged a pull request, and then I tried to do a 2nd one and it wouldn't merge.
So now we've reverted our pull requests.
I ended up closing Pull Request #2921 because I couldn't figure out how to merge it safely.
Amadeusz Sadowski
@amis92
Nov 30 2016 20:06
all right
so, right now there are no changes from any of you on master, am I right?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 20:07
Correct.
So I should have no problem creating a new branch, and sending a new pull request.
If you want I'll go ahead and do that.
Amadeusz Sadowski
@amis92
Nov 30 2016 20:08
that's correct. do you have problems?
yeah, I think that's ok
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 20:08
No. I'm just curious if that is the "Right" way to handle this sort of thing.
Amadeusz Sadowski
@amis92
Nov 30 2016 20:08
all in all, git is meant to be version control for code files
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 20:09
It seems like there should be a way to merge 2 files in conflict by picking a winner.
Amadeusz Sadowski
@amis92
Nov 30 2016 20:09
and it doesn't lend itself very well to merging xml files
it's a hell
you can
but you'd need some pro client

OK.
Amadeusz Sadowski
@amis92
Nov 30 2016 20:10
Tortoise is one
but the best is command line
if you use linux
and powershell on windows
ever used any of these?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 20:11
Sure. I've done work in powershell.
But it wouldn't be local to me. I'd need a command window accessible to the source control server, right?
Amadeusz Sadowski
@amis92
Nov 30 2016 20:12
then poshgit is for you! :D
no, it's all local
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 20:14
poshgit is an app, or a scripting language?
Amadeusz Sadowski
@amis92
Nov 30 2016 20:14

in settings
select PowerShell, and it'll automatically start posh git

Interesting. So I can look up the syntax and use PoshGit?
Amadeusz Sadowski
@amis92
Nov 30 2016 20:20
syntax is universal git, so yeah, just google 'git merge remote' or sth and stackoverflow will answer your bidding :D
(or git man)
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 20:20
OK.
Github is so much more advanced then the source control software that we use at the office, but it's a little fascinating that it doesn't allow you to pick a winner and merge through the standard interface.
Amadeusz Sadowski
@amis92
Nov 30 2016 20:22
it's really most of the time directly available from other tools, I use git in Visual Studio and there it is a simple click away
Tortoise is quite good too
GitHub is much cleaner and easier, but as such, not much features.
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 30 2016 20:26
I'll try Tortoise out. I'm OK with scripting languages, but it would be easier to use a context menu.
