As annoyed as I am, that my MSU Inquisition Psychic Shreiking army list doesn't work, I'm not nearly as miffed as all of the SOB players who lost St. Celestine. I can count on 1 hand the number of times I've played against a sister's army without Celestine.
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 00:01
Back when I ran sisters she was my alt leader - I usually went cannonesses
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Dec 13 2016 00:02
Wait... She's out of the Dex?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Dec 13 2016 00:02
Yep. RIP.
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 00:02
Also main reason people ran Celestine was because she's annoying
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Dec 13 2016 00:02
...wow
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 00:03
However, I think there's a good and reasonable reason why Celestine isn't in C:IA - what named characters are other then inquisitors? Answer: none.
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Dec 13 2016 00:03
Definitely. 3/4 of the times I played against sisters it was just a small detachment to add Celestine to another army for Hit and Run, and her other bonuses.
The Jacobi guy is in there as a SoB HQ
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 00:04
Is jacobus in it?
I stand corrected then
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Dec 13 2016 00:07
Now only if sob squads weren't $80 for 10 fixed metal models
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Dec 13 2016 00:08
Yeah, that pricepoint is nuts. I hope Raging Heroes makes a ton of money because of GW's price point idiocy.
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 00:09
I'm hoping the plastics are coming January/February
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Dec 13 2016 00:10
If so, they should have held this book until then.
cartag
@cartag
Dec 13 2016 00:11
But cash grab.
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 00:16
Unless they're getting a full new codex at that time.
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 03:55
Ok, here's a question: deathwatch terminators. The entry says replace weapons with TH/SS, then there's another line that says may take a cyclone.
Comparing the entry to the Deathwing Terminator entry, there is a distinct difference in wording - deathwing specifies ALL weapons, while deathwatch only says weapons. Too much of a reach to say a TH/SS deathwatch terminator can take a cyclone? Or is it actually a reasonable assumption?
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Dec 13 2016 05:15
Its always been assumed that the TH/SS replaces all weapons
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 07:23
But, plenty of skub saying because of the wording you can have cyclone hammer and shield if you're a Deathwatch Terminator and therefore able to ignore things as you wish...
(book grab looks good though) :+1:
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 08:42
Also, perhaps they've release C:IA in anticipation of 8th edition :-P also if I get grey Knights, SoB, inquisition, legion of the damned, assassins and extra stuff and the only double up is Deathwatch rules I'm a happy bunny :-)
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 09:45
Yeah I think I finally need to invest in damned minis
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 11:07
Hehehe! I keep telling myself "no more miniatures until I've painted the ones I've got" but I'm not winning that battle at the moment... Having said that, I have actually been doing some painting for a change so who knows, maybe the tide will turn...
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 11:09
Well I've been wanting the new damned minis since they came out - I think this book is the motivation I needed
James
@skonk
Dec 13 2016 11:09
I've been painting a few thousand sons models but i suck at it... while also being a perfectionist... so it takes me hours and hours to paint just 1 model :(
and the end results never very good either way
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 11:11
I know that feeling well... I think it helps that I joined a gaming group where models range from glue drying built to golden demon so as long as I sit somewhere on the scale it's all groovy...
James
@skonk
Dec 13 2016 11:11
we can gloss over the fact that I have 20k points of unpainted Tau and about 8k points of not very painted Necrons...
blob
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 11:11
I'm such a hopeless collector- I finally got both deathwatch boxes, and now I want the new battleforce coming soon - thankfully with that and a blackstar I'll be happy
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 11:11
Necrons hardly need much painting though do they...?!
James
@skonk
Dec 13 2016 11:11
That was my test model to see if i could actually handle painting all the detail
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 11:11
But damn, those damned minis
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 11:12
Which damned minis are we talking about now @alphalas?
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 11:13
The legion of the damned
God, we don't want to start the unpainted collection comparison competition- I have almost 40k of tau, 20k of marines, 8k of guard/tempestus...
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 11:13
Necrons = spray black, drybrush silver, dot eyes <- gaming standard done...
Aha, but are they built?!
James
@skonk
Dec 13 2016 11:14
heh
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 11:14
Everything of mine is built.
I can't leave unbuilt models sit - just one of my things
James
@skonk
Dec 13 2016 11:16
building them is one of my favourite parts of the hobby
which us why I have so much unpainted; it's so easy to get new models but painting them takes me ages
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 11:20
Ha! So I normally try to paint as I build, so I don't miss bits (that perfectionist streak...) and that means I have boxes (and boxes) of models that are not yet built...
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 11:21
I get that - it just bothers me having boxes or sprues laying around when I know there's still models waiting to be built
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 11:21
Although, with my Deathwatch they're getting built first because I need them to play games - local tale of Gamers :-)
I find boxes are easier to hide in cupboards and you can't worry about what you can't see.
Kinda...
James
@skonk
Dec 13 2016 11:22
I know it's much easier to paint stuff in sub-assemblies but then while its waiting to be painted I cant play the models due to them being in bits. So i tend to just build em and then struggle later with the painting
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 11:26
Out of sight out of mind works too well on me - I forget shit exists then.
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 11:41
I think my problems stem from when I was younger and the only place I could play was GW and then only with painted models... So I only played small battles with hastily painted models while dreaming of epic confrontations with vast hordes of fully painted models...
Like I say, I've actually started painting again so the army is getting larger and the stacks of unpainted ones smaller :-)
(slowly)
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 11:51
Anyway, back to Codex: imperial agents, where did you / do you get good leaks from?? I saw a little on BoLS this morning, the inquisitor detachment and Henchmen detachment but does anyone have any more? (I know I could wait until the weekend when I can download my ebook but that would be boring...)
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 11:52
I personally haven't been following leaks other then bols
@tag8833 seemed to have better sources
zopha
@zopha
Dec 13 2016 11:56
https://war-of-sigmar.herokuapp.com/ usually has some decent leaks/previews on stuff.
https://war-of-sigmar.herokuapp.com/bloggings/1489 is the last imperial agents post with some pictures. If you have time sifting through the comments can turn up some more info.
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 11:59
of course the source is vk...
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 12:01

Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 12:17
VK?

Dec 13 2016 12:18

Dec 13 2016 12:31
Lot of sisters players completely misunderstanding what the imperial agents book is for and losing their shit it seems
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 12:32
indeed
oh, @GenWilhelm i just confirmed that there is a three limit enforced on LoTD in the
LoTD detachment - i'll fix it.
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 12:34
In the codex or data files?
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 12:35
data file.
it's supposed to be 4.
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 12:35
ok, looks like 4 in the data files to me
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 12:35
i built a list with 4 - throws limit 3 error.
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 12:36
"3 too many (max 1)" is there error i get
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 12:37
i'll double-check - either way i'll fix it.
home with sick toddler today so i got time.
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 12:38
cool, it looks like the bug is in the unit rather than the detachment
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 12:38
that's my guess.
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 13:13
there's 3 issues done.
for KT compatibility in the cat, what needs done?
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 13:16
Hide any units that aren't valid in KT. Add a selection in No Force Org for specialists.
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 13:17
So add a hide condition in each unit?
*if not KT compat
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 13:17
yeah
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 13:17
Kk
That shouldn't be too terrible then
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 13:18
HQ, HS, and LoW dont need it since you can only take Elites, Troops and FA
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 13:18
:+1:
I'll start working on it then on my cats
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 13:57
Should no force org slot stuff be hidden too?
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 13:59
Not sure, I left in stuff that doesnt break the restrictions (eg. Cypher)
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 14:02
:+1:
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 14:46
I added a link to the specialists rules to each of the non-vehicle selections, rather than in the no force org slot... You can only choose one of each anyway and this way means you can show which unit your specialists are from...
But good work Alpha otherwise, I hope your rascal gets well soon, but otherwise, keep bashing the bugs!!
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 14:49
Yeah I'm following what you did in deathwatch as my template
Oh, you didn't hide termies, btw
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 15:17
Deathwatch was one of the first I implemented KT rules into, so I might have missed the "no save better than 3+ rule"... Can you take care of it while you're in there?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Dec 13 2016 15:19
All of the leaks I had came form VK: https://vk.com/lampy_pictures
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 15:25
Sure, not a problem
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 16:08
Thanks for that @tag8833 looks good to me :-)
I take it I won't be loading the Iyanden details into the Craftworld CAT then @efalsken...
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 16:36
I don't see how Iyanden is incompatible with the current Codex. It even received official amendments that bring it up to date with the current edition.
It's not like there's anything complex in there either, it's just warlord traits, relics, and a couple special rules.
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 16:51
I'm with @GenWilhelm and @FarseerVeraenthis - I don't see a reason why not
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 17:50
I'll have a go at downloading all the rules and errata and see what the outcome is...
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 19:06
SoB, AM, and ABG done, starting on DKoKAB
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 19:18
Ok, can someone save me a few minutes and tell me what the forlorn hope rule from fall of Orpheus book for DKoKAB is?
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 19:27

Never mind, I got it; should this be hidden for KT?

https://flic.kr/p/QbFFb8

Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 20:01
I went with yes
DKoKSR done - actually didn't have to hide anything for it lol
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 20:53
Nah man, I want to use that in my 1500pts KT list.
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 20:54
Lol
Should I even do inquisition? Does KT even work for it?
I mean, don't you have to take an inquisitor?
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 20:56
I have no idea.
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 20:56
Eh fuck it why not
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 20:56
I don't think I've ever looked in that book
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 20:57
I'll probably have to change it all Saturday anyway
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 20:57
Yay for redundancy.
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 20:58
I'm ex-mil - I know all about that redundancy
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 21:06
Ok what's the conflict in inquisition?
I'm confused by this
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 21:08
I think tag did a commit to Inq. last night??
BSData/wh40k@181dc40
He did, but I downloaded from the master this morning before I started
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 21:11
ooh, is that new on github?
or have i just missed it before
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 21:12
shrugs I don't know?
I just saw button that said resolve conflict
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 21:12
if thats the only confilct just go with the higher version number
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 21:12
Now I'm staring at it trying to figure out how to
Delete the master line?
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 21:13
delete lines 4 and 5?
maybe you need to do 2 and 6 as well?
idk how any of this works
and yeah its a new feature
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 21:19
By jove I got it!
Woot!
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Dec 13 2016 21:19
nice :+1:
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 21:20
So that's all imperial non CM/astartes, GK, and LoTD done
Feels good to look through and see zero bugs for any of my cats
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Dec 13 2016 22:29
Inquisition does work in Kill team at least until the Agents of the Imperium book invalidates the old inquisition Codex.
I'll bet there will be a way to make it work in the new book, it will just be quite a bit less dynamic I suspect.
The inquisition Retinue (Henchmen) entry was one of the most fun units in all of 40K, and I'm really sad to see it go.
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Dec 13 2016 23:13
wow, wolves and marines are the two big problem children
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Dec 13 2016 23:48
yup, and I nearly managed to clear the Eldar ones (well, now you mention it, apart from the Iyanden one...) but I made a schoolboy error and messed up the rules for a load of the Forgeworld units... stupid corsairs!! Well, stupid me really, completely forgot there is a Corsair CAT... Anyway, the formations build properly now but the rules are wrong.. I'll fix it later, now it is well past time for bed...
