im going thru and readjusting SM point costs now. most things are getting reductions
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Jul 27 2017 01:19
centurion devs went up tho :(
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 01:44
I find that rather strange
they were overpriced if anything compared to a dev squad
what are they at now?
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Jul 27 2017 01:45
not really. i am running a 3man las/ml combo with an apothecary. they never really lose a model.
takes out land raiders in two rounds
one if im lucky
80 per now
so +15 pts
sigh… pain in my ass. a few melee weapons got points reductions...
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 01:50
that makes a squad of 3 las/missile 420 points >.>
or more
how is that even close to reasonable?
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Jul 27 2017 01:51
its my only heavy support choice, and they ignore cover
so they will go from 420 to 465
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 01:52
still, thats 420+ points for 9 wounds T5 2+?
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Jul 27 2017 01:52
that shoot 6 lascannon shots and 3d3 missile shots
that ignore cover
points are base more on fire output it seems than model survivability.
but in cover with an apothecary (something tanks have a harder time doing) they survive the whole game usually
and now with RG tactic will be stupid hard to hit in cover.
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 02:44
hmmm
you're starting to convince me to get a box for my RG
flakpanda

I think my only hesitation is knowing what predator guns and other 3-damage options will do to them after running paladins
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 03:40
my friend in another chat just counterpointed that a mortis dread or pair of them which is the alternative actually drops faster to lascannons
so I think I just underestimated them
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Jul 27 2017 03:58
anyone want to put post-codex SM thru the ringer?
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 05:19
hmmm
plasma inceptors looking better than expected
6d3 average is 12, with 10-14 being the most likely
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Jul 27 2017 05:29
258 pts for 3
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 05:46
30+16+16 * 3 = 186
not sure where you're getting 258 from
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Jul 27 2017 05:47
(303)+(286) = 258
…..
*3
(30 3) + (28 6) = 258
fucker
its 30 3 and 28 6
...
why are my *s not escaping
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 05:49
where are you getting 28
assault plasma incin is 16
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Jul 27 2017 05:49
inceptors has plasma exterminators. not incinerators
they are 28 pts per
and its 2 per model
so 28x6 plus 30x3
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 05:50
ah

WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 05:51
I'll still take 10-14 plasma shots for that
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Jul 27 2017 05:56
yeah
escpecially when you can deep strike them
sigh computer today
@/all Codex: Space Marines is uploaded <3

just checking I'm not blind
@flakpanda did you see a point cost for the intercessor grenade launcher anywhere?
there's the astartes one for scout bikes, but no aux that I can see
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Jul 27 2017 06:08
Just double checked. I didn't see anything
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 06:15
neat
that makes bolt rifle intercessors still 100 (and more useful)
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Jul 27 2017 06:16
Yeah. Figured it be a 5 pt wargear upgrade
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 06:17
imagine if you could get those on reivers.....
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Jul 27 2017 06:18
Just takes and run with what you got now. Lol
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 06:21
I am, the tactics and stratagem alone are doing wonders for what I want to do
rievers just have a particularly special place in my thoery lists right now for setting units up for my terminators to knock down

Jul 27 2017 09:21
@CrusherJoe let me check i've not missed some pages out
i had to take photos of each page but the scanner app in dropbox (which i used so as to correct the pages of perspective distortion) was limited to 10 pages at a time, so i may have missed something between batches
James
@skonk
Jul 27 2017 09:27
I seem to have missed pages 149 and 150
i'll have to add em when i get home from work
i guess that should have had tacticals, intercessors and scouts on or something

Jul 27 2017 13:44
@skonk RIGHT ON, RIGHT ON you're the King of Swing!
So these bugs that have been opened such as #986 #987 et al
Where are they coming from -- as in, where is that stated in C:SM that this is the case?
CloverFox
@CloverFox
Jul 27 2017 13:58
arn't they just examples if imperial soup? eg include a sub faction of space marine inside your man deathwatch entry?
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jul 27 2017 13:59
That would be pretty lame and contrary to the fluff, though (and I realize the surest way to lose a rules arguement in 40K is to use the phrase, "in accordance with the fluiff...")
flakpanda
@flakpanda
Jul 27 2017 13:59
There was a pdf from community that they release about them using those primaris units
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jul 27 2017 14:00
Hmmmmm
I need to track that down then

@MrRta1910 dude, this channel is not the place for bug reports.
CloverFox
@CloverFox

i cant find it, i guess since the codex isnt out yet its not on the official channels
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jul 27 2017 14:03
Hmm
I would call those bug reports premature then, unless there's a good reference to back it up
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jul 27 2017 14:05
@ilaunchbury yes, exactly. Thank you!

@amis92 was the dot on the necrons line intentional?
Amadeusz Sadowski
@amis92
Jul 27 2017 16:19
probably not...?
but still, it shouldn't matter for #995, which still didn't work
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jul 27 2017 17:58
so, question for all you elfkin people out there.
the gf has a small batch of clowns, a slightly larger batch of dar, and a kinda larger batch of DE. is it better to just do a big soup, or ynarri?
Owlsbane
@Owlsbane
Jul 27 2017 18:27
The soup is probably more effective bc the army-specific rules for Harlequins and Dark Eldar trump the Ynnari ability most of the time. That said, playing with an Ynnari force can be fun.
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Jul 27 2017 18:45
You can't use Soulburst unless you have a true Ynnari warlord now.
So soup is better unless you have a Triumvirate.
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 18:58
and after playing with my eldar, battle focus is REALLY underestimated for what it provides
so soup I would say is superior, especially if you have windriders that aren't scatbikes
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jul 27 2017 19:14
thoughts on running windwiders as clouddancers?
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 19:32
the only real reason I'd take cloud dancers as they are is to take triple darklances
James
@skonk
Jul 27 2017 22:23
to waste more money on forgeworld stuff or to not....
tekton
@tekton
Jul 27 2017 22:40
i've put a cap on FW models until my current FW models and Cawl are done
James
@skonk
Jul 27 2017 22:45
heh
im a chaos player but im tempted to build a basic SM force to keep me off the FW for a bit
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 22:47
that depends
what FW stuff were you considering?
James
@skonk
Jul 27 2017 22:47
all
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 22:47
what do you currently use in an average 2K?
James
@skonk
Jul 27 2017 22:48
im sat here browsing through anything that can be used for chaos and pondering on it
im a bit odd....
i rarely run the same list twice
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 22:48
if you want a project to keep you occupied
James
@skonk
Jul 27 2017 22:48
i have at least 1 of pretty much everything GW make for chaos space marines, plus a lot of daemons stuff
most things i have multiples off
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 22:49
magnetized renegade knight?
James
@skonk
Jul 27 2017 22:49
then for FW i have 2 leviathans, a deredeo, some rapier batteries, 3 mk1 rhinos, 2 mk1 preds and a scorpius
yeh ive have a fully magnetised knight
a m8 painted it for me last week too :)
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 22:49
let me look at the chaos index
you have a primarly legion?
*primary
James
@skonk
Jul 27 2017 22:50
death guard was what i mainly played in 7th and its what im tending to use in 8th
but the bulk of what i own is general chaos stuff
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 22:50
is there a list of restrictions for them?
James
@skonk
Jul 27 2017 22:50
the FW stuff was intended to be for the DG
yeh DG is very restricted when it comes to the GW units but less so for FW
rapiers and hellwrights cant be DG or TS
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 22:51
DG mastodon would be pretty awesome, especially with the flamers done as chem weapons
James
@skonk
Jul 27 2017 22:51
but everything else can
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 22:51
would work pretty well for chaos'd up HH DG or 40k
James
@skonk
Jul 27 2017 22:52
i would love a mastodon but what puts me off is i think that would just be something to own as a collectors thing, i cant see me every really playing it
thats not to say though that i still wouldn't be tempted to get one
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 22:52
2 guys in my local area have them and use them often
pretty much every 2500 game
or bigger
James
@skonk
Jul 27 2017 22:52
2500 what my group tends to play
830 points for a mastodon
would be funny to use it to move 40 pox walkers
fuck their 4 inch move
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 22:54
that's what I was thinking
James
@skonk
Jul 27 2017 22:54
had a game today where for the first time I managed to get a unit of pox walkers over its starting model count by killing stuff
to top it off, it was against crons... and i out-reanimated them :)
with the FW stuff, for now I was thinking something smaller that i would likely stick in a list from time to time
so for example, i have 2 of 3 predator variations, so maybe pick up that third one
between the 3, i could run a single one with any combination of the wargear it supports, or run 2 or 3 together with their default FW loadouts
quite fancy a decimator dreadnought too
but cos im a bit OCD i feel like I'd want all the weapon options which takes the price up above #100
#100^
hmm, keybaord is in the wrong language for some reason...
£100
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 23:09
I generally do orders in groups to get over 250
James
@skonk
Jul 27 2017 23:12
i have a free shipping code at the mo
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jul 27 2017 23:13
hmm
I'd recommend some transports, since those are very good this edition
spartan would be a decent choice
or LR variants
James
@skonk
Jul 27 2017 23:15
wow, 2 quad lascanons...
hehe, it eats your guys as they get out of it
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jul 27 2017 23:32
