Yes, you are correct; but this was in regards to a bastion

@tekton I'm hoping to get most of my questions answered tomorrow

@alphalas there aren't really any separate vehicle rules anymore, the only real question is "does it have a datasheet" or "Is it just terrain"

the first one use according to the sheet, the second according to its BRB category

@WindstormSCR most should be, might wait for a little bit though and build something "for the edition"...then again, I have an old Armorcast Titan- so a lot of ideas may just go out the window and I'll have fun with it all and it may end up my "meh, whatever, it just looks cool" army
re-roll failed charges for everyone, and jetbikes have no move and fire heavy penalties
windriders have "considerable" points reduction apparently

Vypers are bikers, so they get it too.
1CP to move 7" after shooting is quite nice as well.

well theyve been pretty underwhelming so far, it would be nice to see something from them again

Iyanden 60 S7 AP - 3 shots with rerolls...
When GW points out the broken combos I begin to lose faith in the "new gw"

those are CC hits, not shots.

Oct 19 2017 14:52
index prices its about 600pts
and theyre also using a relic
and its a unit of 10, so they'll have to foot-slog up the board
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Oct 19 2017 14:54
but they're T6 now! :)
like GenWilhelm says, it might be 60 hits, but you've got to get them into combat somehow.

change guard to tzeentch, and shooting to psychic
at least when you get shot you get to make rolls before removing your models in handfuls

True
I believe Smite needs to be moved into the Rule of One

I guess that's a little better, I just hate to think what people will come up with when GW is showing you a combo like that

to be fair, they also pointed out dakkastalans
but the fear around that doesnt' seem to have manifested too badly

@FarseerVeraenthis @acebaur Am I the only one looking at saim-hann and going "That's not actually that good unless the relic and WLtrait are hot shit" ?
scatbikes aren't really that scary aside from being able to kite distance, but they're nowhere near as killy as they were in 7th
see: "in 7th, so many saves were guaranteed and rend wasn't a thing, so the AP2 procs of shuriken weaponry were significantly less valuable when fighting against cover. Also Scatter lasers were a high enough strength to threaten light armor where there was no armor save, just str vs AV. both of those are no longer true"
so now you are facing what would have been the equivalent of AV11 in buffed cover the majority of the time with scatters

and vypers.... they just explode too easily
I'll probably end up going iyanden if fire prisms really are that good, since it keeps both them and my scorpion effective for longer

that fire and fade strat will be nice on shadow specs

Thinking juiced up Jetbikes are the solution to IG gunline hell?
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Oct 19 2017 18:52
nah
because the guardsmen get a 4+ save and are -1 to hit
spectres will remain the go-to for removing infantry, or fire prism dispersed shots if they manage to somehow unfuck them
possibly reapers with the lower str missiles since they have rend
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Oct 19 2017 19:06
the main problem with rend 0 stuff is you need a huge amount of it to be worth much, and unless you can get ~9 jetbikes with scats for less than a squad of 5 shadow spectres the spectres will be better purely on ignoring the likely -1 to hit and reducing the save of the guard in question

well guess who had their first game with AdMech in 8th!
Also guess who wiped the floor with the CSM!
Also guess whose enemy hat an entirety of 5 cultists left at the end of game!
Also guess who tried to chase down the cultists and totally forgot the objectives and surprise lost at the end of T5 with a score of like 6:1!
FUCKERS FELL BACK FROM COMBAT AND GRABBED 2 OBJECTIVES!!!
but I totally see now how Dakkastelans and Dragondozer are viable.
also - rules question... how do daemonettes interact with the "I fight now after you charged"-Stratagem?
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Oct 19 2017 20:26
it becomes alternating activation
so charger picks a unit that charged to go
then opponent picks
etc until all ASF and charging units have completed
the proceed to normal fight alternation
it's nice, but not a huge thing if they're the one getting charged, where it shines is if they get to charge then have perpetual initiative on your guys
banshee masks work the same way
Dirk Bachert
@Thairne
Oct 19 2017 21:00
so you cannot use the stratagem to break the chain?
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Oct 19 2017 21:39
I don't see why not. You just have to go after them.
2 units of Daemonettes charge, they go, you use strat to go, they go again.
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Oct 19 2017 21:46
the only restriction is that the unit which just fought charged.
Dirk Bachert
@Thairne
Oct 19 2017 21:58
because they have an ability that says "always fight first. If charged unit has same ability, alternate"
stratagem isnt an ability, tho
so does "always fight first" still count?
Dirk Bachert
@Thairne
Oct 19 2017 22:09
"SLAANESH DAEMON units with this ability always fight first in the Fight phase, even if they didn't charge. If the enemy has units that have charged, or that have a similar ability, then alternate choosing units to fight with, starting with the player whose turn is taking place."
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Oct 19 2017 22:57
my reading of it is that the stratagem overrides it.
This Stratagem is used right after an enemy unit that charged has fought. Select one of your own eligible units and fight with it next.
You can fight with any unit in any combat, overriding any other ordering
That's how I've been playing it with my Banshees anyway. If my opponent wants to use what is usually a third of their CP on getting an early fight, so be it.
