Nope, they've always only been able to change their boltgun. It's a weird quirk. I actually posted it on GW's facebook, but we've never had an answer

np. Devs are currently wrong in the cat because the default is for them to have boltguns, and currently you can't choose a boltgun for them at all.
I'm sure I saw a ticket about it at some point...
actually, it's just odd implementation where flakpanda hasn't implemented the default option, but rather the most commonly chosen option.

The rule of common sense if nothing else.
So, the issue with #1853 - Condensed view kills any ability link below the unit level.
Abilities, Keywords, etc, are all tied to model shared entries
for consistency if nothing else, because some units have mixed models.
To "Fix" that, we could strip out every single link and place it at a unit level, then apply name modifiers to every one that applies to more than one model/unit to clarify in the summary

void shield changed to "Unit wholly within" rather than "Model wholly within" and the range went from 12 innches to 6
i cant actually find anything in the book at the mo to prevent you putting models ontop of other models
Sky Shield has rules for IF you have models ontop of it, but doesnt directly give permission to put models on top of it
but i dont see anything to prevent you

as i understand it, fly lets you pass over terrain but the general rules state you have to m,easure vertical distance
so i'd just measure diagonally from start point to end point

so if 3 named lords all have the same rule name but different actual rules, if you just name the profile "Rule name here(character here)" and have all 3 units in, the summary will display all 3

I'll work on re-ordering necron abilities tonight and tomorrow if I get time
I'll keep a before/after file so we can see how much it actually increases
then we still need a solution for summary view of abilities.
Unless that solution is pre-pend every ability with a unit name or abbreviateion

I'm just playing dumb because that's a lot of -- what I consider to be -- very pointless effort
Because we're jacking around with Output, which SHOULD be a function of BS
Which will basically result in every cat having to be re-written
(figuratively, not literally)
In other words -- not to be pushy or a jerk, but @Jonskichov really needs to fix BattleScribe's (complete lack of any meaningful options for) output.
Unless -- and I'll admit there's a chance for this -- I'm completely missing something somewhere?
