another part of my souring note with 40k RG is when they inadvertantly fucked up the ability for tartaros to go combi bolter with single LC
because the fuck writing the datasheet didn't even bother to read the 7e one
most of my opponents don't care, but it still peeves me

Raptor/Stormeagle could be a sweet pair
since the stormeagle didn't get dinged in CA and is now a much better option vs the raven

mine was pretty fucked up but I recovered it with a lot of patience and greenstuff. I guess I'm less bitter because I complained about the shipping since the box was beat to shit, resulting in some of the damage and they sent me a whole new kit
I gave them pictures to yell at UPS with
so one is built out of near pristine parts from both
the other is ~10% greenstuff

but yeah, I'd say consider grabbing mk 3 or 4 and making some tacs to fill out a batallion for obsec, and leverage your ability to spam flamers
I personally think of the plastic sets the mk III is the better one for kitbashing
slightly harder but the results look better
and 2 boxes with the legion heavy and combi set would allow you to make tacs + options really easy

if he's disappeared I was going to table the idea of paring ynnari down to just the 3 models, and having end users do child detachments
yes there is a keyword change for ynnari, but at the end of the day it duplicates four entire cats for minimal gains

In #1699 @USSX-Hares makes that commit and asks @FarseerVeraenthis to verify changes. There's a user comment that it works fine though it needs the Harli/DE CA updates added

I'm still convinced pushing it towards child detachments might be better, but since this is the way we're doing it I can take a crack at it (I have a little bit of python exp, but it might not be useful)
That is the tool he built for auto merging the three cats into one

deathwing getting access to cata and tartaros is a big deal
also there are rumors that the cata assault cannon kit for 30k will have 40k rules in cyraxus because of the red scorps
that inner circle strat I don't know how to feel about, unless being deathwing gives it some major buffs it doesn't look that worth it

The way I see it there are 2 ways to do it
1; a no Force org sSE named warlord linked to root entries, and a max1 in roster “warlord” entry in GST that’s linked, and is simply checkbox named warlord

I mirrored the GK/Nids version for CWE
have a SSE named "Warlord" with "max 1 in roster"
that could simply be shifted to the GST instead of per-cat
the traits themselves are an SSEG that is hidden unless "Warlord" is selected
with conditionals to remove options not valid for certain characters
it was the least number of lines solution, since I agreed with the concerns over bloat and wanted to use as few as possible when doing the SWE implement
and if the trigger SSE gets moved to the GST, it doesn't matter where in the soup it gets selected, as it'll trigger a one in roster limit

possibly, I had already done everything as a root of the SSEG and was a little lazy about turning the traits themselves into SSEs
but then you'd have to use logic to unhide each trait when warlord was selected so it works out about the same
really depends on the number of exceptions and special characters, marines would probably want traits as hidden SSEs, but for nearly all other armies I can se SSEG with exceptions being more lines-dense

What we theoretically need is a matched/narrative/open switch which turns on or off certain constraints (example: guard’s max 1 CS per officer). Like that’ll ever happen

He has plans for porting his 5th Edition "MegApoc" game
Which involves multiple rooms, force commanders, fog of war, BattleFleet Gothic, maybe even some Epic
I swear when he was telling me his plans I kept feeling this weird sensation, a pulling in my facial muscles
Took me a minute to realize I was smiling so big it was starting to hurt
Mainly because I kept nodding my head and going, "Yeah! Yeah!"
I support all ways of playing 40K
So long as you're putting models on the table and rolling dice, go for it
HOWEVER
Having said that
I don't want us getting caught up in minutia
But since I don't have a dog in this race I'll go along with what everyone else decides is best

I think that's why the discussion for WL traits is revolving around "minimum lines used"
it'd be nice to support it fully, as long as it doesn't bloat
same goes with narrative options in the GST, only the stuff that has direct impact

Hmmm, I wonder if thats a major fuckup with the change to targetting characters in CA
"character with less than 10 wounds" - not a Wound Characteristic of less than 10. Right now you can't target Magnus, Mortarion, Hive Tyrent etc once you take them below 10 wounds

it seems obvious to me that it's a mistake and they mean Wound characteristic, not remaining wounds. They just can't write rules consistently.

and hit the GST, since I already put the BRB ones in for craftworlds, I can just copy/paste them over
@alphalas and I assume you need to PR the change into the GST first as well

otherwise you have to constrain 2 entry groups to one choice

the CA ones are a separate SSEG that stays hidden unless someone really wants them
I refactored the way CWE traits were done as well, SSEs were less lines after all
