So, #2229
I already commented
But I do believe he is right, there's literally no restrictions on the Dagger of Outflankiness other than AM CHARACTER
I want someone to check my logic
Because I really, REALLY want to be able to Outflank a Tank Commander

Btw @ilaunchbury - the Beasts of Nurgle points cost thing with the DG codex....
Death Guard have no Beast of Nurgle. They were just in the Codex so people could summon them without having to buy the Daemons codex but they're not part of the Death Guard army. As such, when summoning, you would just summon them from the latest Data Sheet (I.E. Codex: Chaos Daemons) so really no reason not to change the points cost.
Or just remove em entirely from that CAT since anyone actually adding them to their list is just fucking up their detachment rules
all the daemons that is, not just beasts

There's a datasheet and a price in Codex DG, and until GW say otherwise, that's the cost for the ones in the DG cat. Regardless of whether they were there just for summoning or not.
If you start saying that you can use Datasheet from other codexes, that's a whole other can of worms,
Which I'm not about to open.
James
@skonk
Jan 14 2018 23:01
Ok let me ask you this
under what circumstance would you use one of the daemons data sheets in the DG book?
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jan 14 2018 23:06
That’s not the point @skonk
James
@skonk
Jan 14 2018 23:06
it is the point
they are not death guard data sheets
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jan 14 2018 23:07
I’m with @ilaunchbury; they’re in the Codex, they stay in the data until changed by FAQ
Stay in the data unchanged*
James
@skonk
Jan 14 2018 23:07
pointless data is pointless
Summoning is built into the individual data sheets of summonable daemons; so every daemon data sheet in the daemons condex can be summoned by any Chaos (including DG) character
so firstly, u dont need the data sheets in the DG book to be able to summon
you cant built a daemon only detachment with just whats in the DG book cos it lists no HQ's, so anyone wanting to do that would need the daemons codex anyway
and anyone who doesn't care about the fact that it will stop the detachment being valid as a codex list they are perfectly able to just put the daemons codex units into their list just fine
So when you say "use the data sheets" - Death Guard DO NOT use those data sheets in the first place, since those data sheets aint Heretic Astartes or Death Guard units. Death Guard players have are not restricted to using just those data sheets if they do want to access those units.
so what exactly would need to be FAQ'd?
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jan 14 2018 23:10
@skonk I get what you’re saying; however; that’s not the way we the BS data Devs do things
Were there any changes between DG daemons and Daemons daemons?
James
@skonk
Jan 14 2018 23:12
some minor points tweaks
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jan 14 2018 23:12
Wow out of context that sentence sounds weird lol
I meant mine lol
Ok
James
@skonk
Jan 14 2018 23:13
lol
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jan 14 2018 23:13
Since each datafile reflects the contents of the Codex, the daemons stay
James
@skonk
Jan 14 2018 23:13
at no point does a death guard player have to actually use those data sheets
nothing forces them to
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jan 14 2018 23:14
That’s fine
HOWEVER
James
@skonk
Jan 14 2018 23:14
they're totally within the rules to just use them right out of the daemons book
so all having those no obsolete data sheets in the DG cat does it give idiots who dont read their rules properly the ability to unwittingly break their detachment rules and probably go play games like that effectivly cheating
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jan 14 2018 23:15
There will be people, I guarantee you, that will complain that units that are in the Codex are not included in the cat
@skonk not our problem
I get you
You’re making the same argument @CrusherJoe does
And I understand, I really do
James
@skonk
Jan 14 2018 23:16
well id also argue that the data sheets in the DG book have also been directly replaced now by the identically named ones in the daemons book
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jan 14 2018 23:16
HOWEVER, it is not our job to ensure people play the game correctly
That’s what I was referring to by FAQ
James
@skonk
Jan 14 2018 23:16
in exactly the same way Rubric Marines in the Index have been replaced by the ones in the CSM dex
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jan 14 2018 23:17
if they update the daemons to match Daemons via FAQ for DG, we update
James
@skonk
Jan 14 2018 23:17
its already been established that they replace them
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jan 14 2018 23:18
But you see my point?
James
@skonk
Jan 14 2018 23:18
no because its already been established that they replace them
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jan 14 2018 23:18
If they have, that should mean there should be a faq to update
Which they have also said they would do
