anyone here a fan of deathwatch?
since I'm probably getting rid of some stuff
well, more than probably

@flakpanda, I think the community site page is the main page now. The one
On the main site is pretty much a waste of time.

@WindstormSCR I am a fan of the Deathwatch, I love the models and the fluff, but I already have a colossal army of them, and as much as I love picking up models for less than retail I don't think I can justify buying anymore at the moment... But... what are you getting rid of...?
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jan 16 2018 07:50
since I've already written it up:
lots of vets, some conversion stuff
for ~40% retail
partly for space, partly to fuel other projects, and partly because I just don't like how they play now. they work, but not in a style I can enjoy

Well
I found something hilarious
you technically can never form a chaos daemon detachment at all
since they never define what keywords are required to do so
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Jan 16 2018 08:48
Are you sure? It says they must all be CHAOS and DAEMON on p124?
And then additionally, if the detachment is mono-god, you get the Loci.
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jan 16 2018 08:49
aha
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Jan 16 2018 08:49
what is hilarious is that they re-broke Virulent Blessing after fixing it in the Index FAQ.

Jan 16 2018 08:50
so my epub reader apparently didn't render that entire opening block of text
I'm now checking it on my tablet and its there

Jan 16 2018 09:11
GW tend to just put stuff like if it's a "NURGLE DAEMON" but that, as a standalone keyword, doesn't exist
So they obviously mean any unit with both the "NURGLE" and "DAEMON" keywords
but if you wanted to be a RAW nazi you could basically say that most of the strats dont work, most of the aura rules dont work etc

oh do tell
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Jan 16 2018 14:52
@GenWilhelm, just noticed that you reverted one of my merges?
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jan 16 2018 14:52
i did?
which one?
no, sorry, it was @CrusherJoe
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jan 16 2018 14:54
wut
When was this?
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Jan 16 2018 14:55
last week?
check the link
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jan 16 2018 14:55
I think it may have been when I mistakenly merged to Master then reverted it
Damn it
Can you unrevert it?
Or recommit it?
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Jan 16 2018 14:57
I don't know. I can try...
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jan 16 2018 14:59
Hmm
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Jan 16 2018 15:00
you broke all the work I did on moving FW HQs into the main catalogues.
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jan 16 2018 15:00
So the changed files are still there
we can pull them down and re-merge them
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jan 16 2018 15:03
what was BSData/wh40k@fefd5ea ? was that you commiting to master before syncing?
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jan 16 2018 15:04
Yes, it was.
Basically I messed up with GH desktop and didn't change the branch before hitting the sync.
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jan 16 2018 15:05
ahh, i see. then it looked like you'd changed a bunch of files and tried to revert it?
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jan 16 2018 15:06
Correct
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jan 16 2018 15:06
i think we've all been there before :P
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jan 16 2018 15:06
I blame @alphalas and his "risky business commit straight to Master" ways :)
In all seriousness though, mea culpa
I thought I'd fixed it
@ilaunchbury I have downloaded your files from the commits
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Jan 16 2018 15:09
should be CSM, DG and FW HA?
If you want to look them over
I assume (there's what word) you can commit them, or I will (so I can clean up my own mess)
Also, to be clear: @ilaunchbury I apologize for almost destroying your hard work
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jan 16 2018 15:12
it might be easier to revert the revert
though, for heavens sake do it on a new branch :D
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jan 16 2018 15:12
So if you know how to do that I'm all for learning
Because I don't know how to do that
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Jan 16 2018 15:13
no worries. Didn't think you did it deliberately!
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jan 16 2018 15:13
Thanks man
I certainly didn't
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Jan 16 2018 15:13
Merging them may be "interesting" due to later merges.
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jan 16 2018 15:14
Have there been later merges?
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Jan 16 2018 15:14
Yes, loads :(
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jan 16 2018 15:15
So we're back to reverting the revert
Nuts. Okay, what can I do to help fix it?
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Jan 16 2018 15:17
But if your revert changed other files we'll be stuck.
I'll download the files from my earlier merge and sort out the conflicts.
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jan 16 2018 15:18
Ah, man
I'm sorry
I can promise you I've been exceptionally judicious about branching and working in that branch since then...not that it helps this, but will prevent future problems.
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jan 16 2018 15:23
@ilaunchbury revert is up on #2249 if you want to take a look. might be easier than doing it by hand
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Jan 16 2018 15:38
looks like the later merges didn't cause any problems. I've merged it.
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jan 16 2018 15:38
:+1:
Whew
Okay I'm gonna go slink into the corner over there --->
Glad it wasn't a headache to fix @ilaunchbury
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Jan 16 2018 15:57
no worries. I've tried to do the same before, when i didn't have access to master.
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jan 16 2018 16:11
Oh did @CrusherJoe have an oops on master? Welcome to the club lol
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jan 16 2018 16:18
...yeah I did
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jan 16 2018 19:56
Aaaaaah man I love snow/ice days here in Texas.
At least here in Austin
Texas is closed today LOLOLOLOLOL

Jan 16 2018 22:28
Oooh, pretty! GitHub added recently an option to "Archive" repositories; the repo becomes readonly. What y'all think, should we make 40k-7th ed readonly?
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jan 16 2018 22:30
I'd ask the HH folks if they wanted to pull anything from it for daemons first
but I don't see the harm if they don't need anything else from it
Amadeusz Sadowski
@amis92
Jan 16 2018 22:37
Even if they need, it's kept as readonly so for just reading all is cool.
