The 8th edition version reanimation is way better, both for the necron player and the enemy... right up to the moment the unit is wiped out entirely. But until it's entirely wiped out it has the potential to keep models alive way better than the 7th ed reanimation due to being able to roll for the dead models every turn. But as the person attacking the necrons it doesnt feel as frustrating as it did in 7th because you do actually kill models. The issue seems to be that the damage output of the necrons is on the low side (which could be due to weapon power or unit costs making it so you dont have enough stuff on the table to deal the damsge you need)
I think we can assume they will get points reductions; since every other codex has
and I think we can assume some of the weapon profiles will be imroved
it's the same mechanic though ... just debating numbers here - Necrons had a base 5+ and "Could get" 4+ with a huge tax in taking certain units in a formation, DG has a base 5+ and can get 4+ with strats and abilities ... I see no difference
I hope that isn't the way it goes btw ... I like the RP the way it is .. but it needs "something" to help the turn one "Focus fire on the heavy destroyers so they never get back up again and then my other units can rampage freely around the board" alpha strike
the problem being thus far that you don't ... 20 warriors and some immortals are not going to take down a dread, repulsor, stormtalon etc. RP cost is factored into a lot of stuff inflating the cost ... so you really feel the pain when an Elite unit bites the dust
that said ... I did have LOTS of fun tarpitting a Lord of Skulls with scarabs while my Stalker shot chunks out of it ... didn't win for long .. but it was fun to try
It's one of the many issues the DC has thrown up; it makes no distinction for whether you could or couldn't use a unit in the index. It just says if it had options in the index and don't exist in the codex then you can use those options. So since 8th edition has now given BA permission to use the unit, the DC allows for that unit to also be loaded up with the index options.
He made a video a few weeks back asking people to create fake accounts to subscribe to him (when YT changed advertising policy to need 1000+ subscribers); has a habit of doing naughty things but I can't see GW letting this one slide
And while you're at it, could you lower the points on each knight by about 150 points? And just to show I'm not selfishly asking for myself could you also lower the price of a Wraightknight and the suncannon to?
im still not clear on how this works, the wording is shite
im still not sure if regardless of how many dice you roll, whether you can only heal up 1 unit or 1 unit for every dice you rolled a 2+ on and if its that if the same unit can be healed by more than once of those 2+ rolled dice
1) I also missed wraiths being able to fall back and shoot/charge. That makes it less of a clear choice ... that beamer looks sexy. 2) Reddit is shitting on the changes, and I love it. It's pretty clear most of them have never played necrons in any way other than across the table from them.
@tekton I'd be delighted to take the Necron parts off your hands ...
@Kohato What would be even more amusing is spruecons on the GW Sector Imperialis bases ... (It's not quite as good as those Tau folks who just paint up the base and say that their Stealth Suit has the camo activated ... )
