These are chat archives for BSData/wh40k
Hi all. Hopefully this is the right place for my question.
So I'm a bit of a mathhammer/statistics nerd, and I've been playing around with building an engine in Python for working out the point efficiency of different models and loadouts. Rather than trying to maintain my own database of point costs and weapon stats, I was thinking it might be convenient to try to pull that information from the BS database.
The issue is that I have little knowledge of xml/web stuff and can't seem to find where the information is actually stored. E.g. searching for unit or weapon names in the 40k repository doesn't seem to yield anything that I can parse for information.
I'm a complete noob here so hopefully I'm not wasting anyone's time over something obvious. Any assistance would be appreciated.
TL;DR How can I extract information (e.g. names of all units in the game, legal weapons for a given unit, point costs) from the raw BS 40k database.
