@acebaur you put separate default wargear on the models and leave the list empty
then constrain the default wargear so that it can't be taken if an item from the list is selected
so in the case of DW vets, each would have a checkbox boltgun entry separate from the list, set to max 0 if a list item taken
(leave boltguns in the vet list to support things like boltgun/chainsword, etc)
This works because the Watch captain has to give up both items to take stuff from the list
so watch cap would be: MC boltgun min 1/max1 with a set min 0 modifier, then an entry group with Chainsword and relic blade, min 1 with Chainsword default and a set min 0 modifier, then the DW vet list, with an additional modifier on the Mc boltgun and entry group to set Max 0 if 'at least 1 selections from the list'
veterans have a place, because they can take useful equipment primaris can't
also if you're taking a transport for any reason other than as a transport, 5 vets base are cheaper than 5 intercessors, which is a consideration when playing mono faction and going for double battalions
@WindstormSCR, you're right, I thought veil of time was something completely different! And the only thing that bugs me about your otherwise smart implementation for the Watch Captain is the chainsword in two places...
