Hugh
@Tigerwraith
Jun 07 2018 04:19
so knights are dropping 35 pts
Hugh
@Tigerwraith
Jun 07 2018 04:24
and avenger cannons are dropping 20 pts
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 04:49
yep
can field 3 knights and still have 500+ points left for IG
or, and this is what I expect people like @CrusherJoe to do:
guard, 3x custodes bike caps, and a knight detach with House vulker knight and 0-2 armigers
Francesco Venturoli
@Crowbar90
Jun 07 2018 05:31
@WindstormSCR thanks!
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Jun 07 2018 05:53
@WindstormSCR I thought about magnetising whole arms but there's only so many shoulder pads to go around!!
If knights get a points drop, can we expect the same for wraithknights in CA 2018???
Hugh
@Tigerwraith
Jun 07 2018 11:19
@FarseerVeraenthis you just have to put the magnets where the weapon mets the arm
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 11:53
Mmm I want knights now dammit.
If the eBay sellers actually ship on Saturday mine will be here by Wednesday:) shipping from Illinois to Iowa is quick
Then in a month or so I’ll browse for valiant weapon sprues
Whoof. Those burdens.
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 12:02
Oh wow. 80 points for that terrain.
That’s. ... so cheap
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 12:07
yeah, but you have to give up shooting for a turn in order to use it
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Jun 07 2018 12:07
@Tigerwraith I know, that's how I will do it, but the photo @WindstormSCR shared shows whole magnetised arms for his captain weapons - which is something I thought of doing, but I don't have enough shoulder pads to do that...
@Kohato what does the terrain do again??
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 12:08
it can repair, reload, or refuel your knights
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 12:20
Yea, instead of shooting, you can use one of the 3
repair d3 - or auto 3 if a tech priest is on it
reload siegebreaker missiles
or refuel (maximize rando hit rolls)
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 12:21
max munder of attacks is the rearm if you already have the maximum number of missiles
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 12:21
Sorry yea - that's reload
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 12:21
refuel means you move an extra 6" next turn
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 12:21
refuel is +6" movement next turn
But - set a castellan there
reload turn 1
Maximum shots on a volcano-cannon
Many things die turn 2.
And hell - you can be super cheap and place it on an objective and have a tech priest sit on it
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 12:26
is that better than just firing it turn 1 and then firing it again in turn 2?
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Jun 07 2018 12:30
sounds brutal
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 12:31
If your oppoenent has half his army in deep strike?
and sinec he can't drop them turn 1
I'd say it's a pretty sound strategy
It's not like you want to run up the field with a castellan
It really depends on the deploy I think
And your faith in rolls.
Can you get 6 on 2d6? If not, it's more worth to wait til turn 2
Can also use it as a deterrent in some cases. Stick a valliant next to it - if he (and his tech priest) are guarding an objective, supercharge the flamer as a deterrant
if your opponent wants to drop in next to 18 s7 -2/2 flamer hits, be my guest
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 12:34
yeah, anti-deep strike is a valid way to use it, i guess
6+ on 2d6 is about 70% isnt it?
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 12:35
something like that?
78%
8/36 results are 5
sorry, 73%
10/36 are 5.
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Jun 07 2018 13:08
probably there will be rules to prevent you "auto cap-ing" an objective
for example, you cannot place the webgate within 3" of an objective marker
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 13:09
is that not already a rule?
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Jun 07 2018 13:12
@Kohato suggested >place it on an objective and have a tech priest sit on it
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 13:13
@FarseerVeraenthis its only for the xenophase and shield, at worst a single upgrade frame of extra pads to handle captains and CC guys
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Jun 07 2018 13:13
perhaps I shouldn't be so cheap :smile:
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 13:13
if you look close he has a standard arm with a magged wrist
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Jun 07 2018 13:14
:+1:
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 13:15
also the shoulder magnets are 1/10"x1/16"
at least for cc guys
to avoid them falling off or drooping
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Jun 07 2018 13:16
sounds good, LOTS of magnets..!
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 13:19
yeah, i ordered 30 1/10" and 150 1/16"
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Jun 07 2018 13:19
where did you get the 1/16 x 1/16?? everywhere I'm looking is either 1mm or 2mm, 1/16" is 1.6mm (ish)
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 13:19
then some 3/16" n52s for the base magnets
K&J magnetics is the supplier i use
get n52 grade for the 1/16"
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Jun 07 2018 13:22
WOw... I need to find a closer supplier for that size of magnet - or do something different - base price for shipping from them to the UK is $17.50...
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 13:23
remember shipping magnets is expensive to anywhere because of special postal handling
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Jun 07 2018 13:24
uhuh, and that's cool, it's just a lot of money :smile:
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 13:24
but I can vouch that unlike other suppliers I've never gotten a bad order, miscount or shattered magnets from them, even with the larger sizes
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Jun 07 2018 13:25
fabulous, perhaps I'll become a UK distributor of imperial sized magnets :smile:
(thank you for the tips, they're very welcome and I do appreciate them)
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Jun 07 2018 13:55
yeah, that website is good, it gives me a reference for the strength of magnets you're using so I have some flexibility with sizing if I can match the same strength :smile:
H4lek1n
@H4lek1n
Jun 07 2018 14:14
in europe there are a lot of companies which offer 1,5mm and 2,5mm magnets. that should be close enough
Amadeusz Sadowski
@amis92
Jun 07 2018 14:47
@H4lek1n I think you missed r there somewhere in your login ;)
Earl Bishop

Jun 07 2018 14:47
So I’m bored at work. I have the ik codex half way done.
Crow can use it or trash it :p
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 14:49
@Crowbar90, you have a squire ^ :smile:
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 14:50
Interestingly enough - unlike other codexes, you actually have to have a household.
You can't do a multi-house superheavy detachment.
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 14:50
oh, interesting
Francesco Venturoli
@Crowbar90
Jun 07 2018 14:50
Lol an imperial squire
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 14:50
but you can add a freeblade, which is almost as good
Francesco Venturoli
@Crowbar90
Jun 07 2018 14:51
I wish I was bored at work... Today seems hell
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 14:51
Aye - freeblade you can
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 14:51
Vulker and hawkshroud will be the meta
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 14:51
but that means you can't mix/match relics.
Haha - I have jack shit to do here
I'll have the cat file finished and an updated GST for the terrain before i'm done here today
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 14:51
yeah, was gonna say, do freeblades have their own relics, WTs, etc.?
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 14:51
so you can review and trash it or use it :)
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 14:51
nope
Francesco Venturoli
@Crowbar90
Jun 07 2018 14:55
Well, thank you for your help!
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 14:56
np - After necrons, IK is my love of 40k, glad to help
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 14:56
that made me realise, @Kohato. under battle brothers, tyranids cant mix hive fleets in a detachment anymore
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 14:56
Oh shit that's right
they did <Tyranids> so you can't mix GSC
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 14:57
yup
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 14:57
Haha
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 14:57
but their only other faction is <hive fleet>
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 14:57
I mean, I doubt anyone - Besides BCB- really mixes sub factions in a single detachment
we just allow it since it's technically possible
but that's still an interesting side effect
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 14:58
not commonly, but it is a valid option
well, it is until beta rules get included
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 15:16
or, and this is what I expect people like @CrusherJoe to do:
My reputation precedes me, I see
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 15:20
Found the first bit of contention with Canis Rex it seems.
image.png
Can Sir Hekhtur utilize Super Heavy Walker and Chainbreaker. The answer is very obviously no - but the Datasheet's name is Canis Rex, so even when Sir Hekhtur is out, he is still Canis Rex.
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 15:22
lol
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 15:22
BWAHAHAHAAAAA
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 15:22
Similarly, does Sir Hekhtur explode and have an ion shield.
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 15:23
Actually I'm thinking (and I haven't done points yet so I dunno if possible, but if it is) a Castellan, a Gallant and a Crusader with terrain and Guard CP farm
Hawkshroud, of course
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 15:23
why not vulker?
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 15:23
What does Vulker do?
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 15:24
@Kohato it's all keyworded, and the keywords change when he jumps out
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 15:25
@CrusherJoe has the "can only be wounded on 4s" trait
and saturation bombardment strat
each hit roll of 6 generates a second hit
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 15:26
Oh good catch Will
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 15:27
a vulker dominus class with RIS will only take 8 wounds from a scorpion twin pulsar shot
and thats assuming doom on the dominus
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 15:27
That's pretty good, but double wounds for degrading purposes is baller
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 15:28
not as baller as just not taking the wounds to begin with
also can give it mark of the omnissiah or the super-plasma since mechanicus knight
coupled with the terrain peice: "how cute, you shot a shadowsword at me, here, ear 12 lascannon class shots back plus a not volcano cannon"
though i think 3 knights will not be as competitive as a single one with 2cp spent to give it a relic and WLT
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 15:33
When attacking with this weapon, you must subtract 1 from the hit roll. Treat any damage roll less than 6 made with this weapon as 6 instead. If a VEHICLE or MONSTER is slain by this weapon, pick an enemy unit within 9" of the bearer and roll a D6. On a 4+ that unit suffers D3 mortal wounds.
... Canis Rex' gauntlet.
It's damage is 2D6 ... why not just make it 12
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 15:34
because its a 2d6 roll, with 6 as the floor, 12 as the max
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 15:34
Oh derp
nvm
I was thinking each dice.
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 16:56
Hey where's that sexy knights update?
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 17:00
I'm nearly done so Crow can make his changes and approve :)
He's working, and i'm bored AF
Also:
Ritual of Repairing
The vehicle regains D3 lost wounds. If there is a TECH-PRIEST or TECHMARINE from your army on the Sacristan Forgeshrine, and they have not used their ability to repair another vehicle this turn, they can aid in the ritual of repairing instead of using that ability this turn. If they do so, the vehicleregains 3 lost wounds instead.
does that mean a techpriest can repair a knight that uses the forgeshrine?
... and they have not used their ability to repair another vehicle this turn ...
so 3+D3 repair
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 17:04
Just flat 3
I'll take an incomplete on LOL
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 17:23
Having the techpriest work on it just removes the random #W recovered
But really I'll take an incomplete knights files -- I wanna make some experimental lists LOL
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 17:29
I don't see the Knight Preceptor (or whatever) in there is it missing?
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 17:31
It's missing in the leak - I'm filling it in based on Canix Rex for now
*Complete other than relics and preceptor. and PL may be odd since the leaks didn't have the old IK sheets.
and the GST has the new terrain piece.
Ignore the "!s" I use those to mark what I'm still working on in a file.
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 18:07
So:
Castellan, Gallant, Crusader +1 Cadian Battalion +1 Scions Battalion == 1954 points
LULZTASTIC
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 18:10
?
lmao
And you can spend 6 CP if you want to get all 3 knights WT and Relics
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 18:12
No
You can't
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 18:13
no?
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 18:13
One of the Guard has to be Warlord for Grand Strategist
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 18:13
Ahh
6CP for 2 WT/Relics on the knights then
still not bad when you have 16 CP available to use
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 18:14
Not too shabby
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 18:17
why is the new fort going in the gst?
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 18:17
Because any list can take it?
Faction Keywords Imperium/IK
Technically it's just a Sector Imperialis piece that gives IK bonuses.
so ... 80pt piece of +1 SV Cover.
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 18:18
so shouldn't it be in the knights cat with the other units that are faction imp and IK?
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 18:19
I suppose it doesn't matter with 2.01 does it
I'll toss it in the IK file
I was thinking bs1.0 :p
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 18:19
ah, right
im guessing you havent finished rex yet
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 18:27
Aye, he should be in there
whoops, didn't tag Primary LOW
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 18:28
his wargear constraints have roster scope
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 18:29
Good catch
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 18:29
and the multi-laser should be free. should i just open an issue at this point? :stuck_out_tongue:
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 18:30
Nope
Multi-Laser = 10
Nvm
pooper
shh
Updated, on all counts.
I flubbed the max in roster with copy paste and ignored it and kept copy pasting :p
Then completley forgot named characters have wargear included.
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 18:32
yeah, i guessed thats what had happened :smile:
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 18:33
I tagged him as a Primary LOW so he should actually show up as a roster slot now :p
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 18:38
the House <Custom> thing isnt quite correct
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 18:38
Oh?
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 18:38
but i dont think its actually needed is it? since there arent any house-specific units
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 18:39
Relics.
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 18:39
sorry, i meant from outside the ones given
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 18:39
Am I stupidly missing the Dominus knights?
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 18:39
Relics.
If someone wants a custom house with House Teryn's trait
they don't get Teryn's relic
hence why Custom is needed.
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 18:40
yeah, but why would you ever choose to do that?
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 18:40
Great question
But we don't deign to assume.
Also - Narrative is the likely answer to that.
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 18:41
i think they just havent been linked @CrusherJoe
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 18:41
  • Righto
I'll link them now
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 18:42
so yeah, the issue is i can take a mechanicus tradition while having imperialis allegiance and vice versa
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 18:43
I didn't link that?
Whoops
I have you select the allegience too
Fixed - along with the missing dominus, preceptor, and rex.
Just relics, then adding character/warlord to everyone else and that should be it
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 19:04
preceptor is a standard knight but it has the impulsor as its ranged weapon and it can swap its stubber/melta for a multi-laser
oh and it has the "Mentor" ability
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 19:05
much appreciated! :smile:
first post has nearly everything
though pics are poor
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 19:06
Yea, My question is did Mentor get placed on the original IKs
and are the original IKs also 23PL
And then of course did they change at all otherwise
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 19:07
the melee knight (gallant?) got its WS improved
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 19:08

that's good

Errant 285 + 76 + 30 + 4 = 395
Gallant 285(?) + 30 + 35 + 4 = 354
Warglaive 160 + 4 (includes Thermal Spear and Chaincleaver)
Helverin 170 + 4 (includes Armiger Autocannon)
Paladin 285 + (100 + 4) + 30 + 4 = 423
Crusader 285 + (75 + 17) + (100 + 4) + 4 = 485
Canis Rex 450 (Includes all wargear)
Valiant 500, includes Metla and 2 primary weapons for free + weapon options on 3 carapace hardpoints
Castellan 510, includes Metla and 2 primary weapons for free + weapon options on 3 carapace hardpoints
Preceptor 385 (Includes Las Impulsor) + 30 + 4 = 419

Also, Gallant is now 5 attacks and WS2+.

i should be able to confirm after some guys finished insulting each other over a necromundia game so loud, they dont hear whatsapp
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 19:10
haha nice
Interesting that the dominus can't stack 3 of the carapace
it's always gonna be 2/1
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 19:11
yeah, i saw that too
H4lek1n
@H4lek1n
Jun 07 2018 19:14
yeah he is also not THAT scary imo without the vulker relic. and the 600 points from gw community are only true if you take 4 rockets
sry i mean cawl relic
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm

Errant: 22 PL
Gallant: 20 PL
Paladin: 23 PL
Warden: 23 PL
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD

And Gallant's Attack change and +1 to each WS table is all that has changed otherwise?
If so - that's all the information needed to finish up :)

Jun 07 2018 19:27
They can take some relics
Just not a lot of them
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 19:28
theyre all forced to be imperialis, so no mechanicus houses
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 19:28
Yep
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 19:28
and they dont count towards the super-heavy detachment for gaining the +3CP
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 19:28
Read: They won't be taken as part of an IK list.
Only as splash in an imperium list
but GW confirmed FW IKs getting updated too I though
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 19:29
im about 50/50 on them getting an immediate errata to fix these

I saw it somewhere on one of the FB threas on their page
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 19:29
sounds far too sensible by FW standards
H4lek1n
@H4lek1n
Jun 07 2018 19:47
i just read their posts and they dont mention it anywhere. the comments on their fb post from the 30th may suggests they dont have plans to change anything soon
on newer posts ppl asked about the mechanicus keyword and they answered " why dont you suggest it to our rule guys " or something like that
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 19:48
Oh well shit then

@H4lek1n
Jun 07 2018 19:50
good for me. i will probably play vulker and already spent enough money on knights :smile:

And considering the attitude tony had in today’s livestream, I’m even surprised IA Talons is actually going to be a thing
And on top of that, Cyraxus was basically confirmed dead
tekton
@tekton
Jun 07 2018 19:53
Really? D-e-d dead?
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jun 07 2018 19:54
The dude who wrote it was on the stream actually
And he said I wrote it freelance, had it 90% done, and they went an changed the fluff
He took a bigger job at FW, and the book basically had to be scrapped and was sent back to the writer’s den
So yeah, pretty much dead
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 19:56
....erk
tekton
@tekton
Jun 07 2018 19:56

Wow, 90% done, then poof
That's just mean
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jun 07 2018 19:59
Someone on stream asked about secutarii rules for 40k and tony basically pussyfooted his way around saying that you can’t expect rules for everything 30k in 40k without actually saying yes or no
tekton
@tekton
Jun 07 2018 20:00
They did seemingly retcon a lot of fundamental things about Tau for 8th; and to a lesser extinct AdMech...not that those were going to be my core armies or anything ./whistle
I think I’m still going to make a squad of Securarii and just play them as “counts as vanguard”
Guess I need to go watch that stream :worried:
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jun 07 2018 20:02
Yeah tony was doing a lot of non-committal pussyfooting around questions regarding 8e or 40k period
Like yes I get you’re there about 30k
But dude
The 40k crowd’s gotta be just as much of a cash cow for you that the 30k crowd is

@Kohato for the Las-impulsor profile for high intensity Heavy is misspelled Heady :smile:
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 20:29
It doesn't get you heady?
badum
Fixed
Ok - household selector changed a bit - 1 more level of clicks for user
but infinately easier to manage relic validation
Latest Version - relic validation done, last things to do, make FW knights pretty like the rest of the format, fix RElic/WT strategem validation ... that's about it
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 21:02
But my real question. Ordinatus for 40k?
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jun 07 2018 21:03
Real talk lol
Even though we do have the perfect opportunity with the rumored next campaign coming up being Armageddon
tekton
@tekton
Jun 07 2018 21:04
Seems a decent summary, thanks @alphalas
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jun 07 2018 21:11
@tekton no problem; like I said it was really underwhelming
Especially with Tony’s non-committal answers on everything
tekton
@tekton
Jun 07 2018 21:15
Heh
tekton
@tekton
Jun 07 2018 21:22
Armageddon- maybe I can finally get a real full range of guardsmen for Steel Legion! ...I can hope

@FarseerVeraenthis
Jun 07 2018 21:34
for #3227 I wasn't sure who to assign, because Astra Militarum is actually missing from the Code Owners page on the Wiki
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 22:05
@amis92
I've broken one of your guidelines
IK official kills "MUST HAVE link to GST Warlord category"
Since you can have more than 1 warlord trait now :p
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 22:09
you still only have 1 warlord though, right?
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 22:12
I didn't, but I thought of a better way to do it
so nix what I said
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jun 07 2018 22:13
@FarseerVeraenthis that sounds like user error
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 22:13
I had done the easy thing
and started incrementing Warlord max in force
based on the strat
for an easy access to relics
I'll just make a new SSE :p
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 22:14
didnt the IK cat used to have a "character" selection for such things?
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 22:15
It still does.
But the way the 2 strats work
Each one gives a new IK the character keyword
So you can technically have 5 Character IKs in 1 detachment
and give 3 warlord traits
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 22:16
so give each character access to WTs and validate max in roster on the traits?
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 22:16
What's what i'm doing
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 22:16
nice, i thought you were having multiple warlords or something
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 22:16
but by linking "Warlord" - which according to the guidelines must be linked to the Warlord cat
and that is max 1 per roster, set in gst
i'm just skipping warlord and going right to traits :)
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 22:17
ah, i see
so how are you validating relics? is it based on number of warlord traits?
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 22:18
Oh that's easy
Relics are only available to Characters
and not CAnis
So tie relic group to "Character"
which is incremented based on the 2 strats
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 22:19
i mean number of relics, since you get 1 for having a IK warlord and can get up to another 2 from the strat
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 22:19
Increment the relic group by the same strat
there's a lot of incrementing going on in this one it seems
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 22:20
yeah, im just wondering how you're doing the warlord relic without a warlord selection
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 22:21
I'm making a new SSE to link to the relics alone, outside of the warlord. Tying that to the Character SSE, then hiding if the strat isn't selected
that new SSE will have max in force based on the strat
the relics under "WARLORD" will stay at 1 max in force that way
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 22:30
Yep, this works nice
image.png
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 22:33
@FarseerVeraenthis AM should always be me
Codeowners should probably be updated to reflect that
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Jun 07 2018 22:33
@CrusherJoe negative
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 23:19
So
to further on the FW knights now
You actually can't even mix FW knights with any mechanicus house
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 23:19
@alphalas negative?
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 23:19
They all have faction keyword Questor Imperialis
So if you choose a mechanicus house, you can't get a FW knight
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 23:20
Oooooops
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 23:20
Yea, they really fucked FW Knights
That's funny
Unless they're freeblades I suppose
Nvm ... RAW they can be taken in a mecahnicus house, but wouldn't have the mecahnicus allegience
it's wonky
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 23:24
So....because I'm being lazy what are the interactions between Mechanicum Knights and AdMech
Are there potential bonuses in there somewhere?
Or is it all locked away nicely behind the Keyword Firewall?
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 23:25
Nope - nvm again - they have to be in an imperium house, or be a freeblade
that's fucked lol
There's a bit
but not entirely
Just tech priest repairing
and a couple questor mechanicus strats
from admech
all works on QUESTOR MECHANICUS keyword
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Jun 07 2018 23:26
No super-sexy re-rolls of every damned thing from Cawl or anything really kewl like that?
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 23:26
@Kohato just look at how my cats are done (de clowns, custodes, DW)
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 23:26
Haha no
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 23:26
You can make the single list handle warlord and strat
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 23:26
Well maybe
Is cawl imperium re-roll?
Got that done Wind :)
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 23:26
his re-roll is MARS
the only reason mars sees any play is because of cawl
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 23:27
It had to be wonky cause of how the WT strat functions with the Relic trait
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 23:27
With how much the Knights make FW I expect a minor FAQ patch fairly quickly
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 23:27
Probably
I have them hidden as required but can easily be changed with FAQ
Well, can't be hidden - cause they can be taken as freeblades
but max0 where needed
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 23:29
On the subject of FW Knights, if you're going to exclude them from mechanicus houses at least put in a switch to turn them back on, because most playgroups will go "lol that's pretty dumb"
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 23:29
Nope, not hiding
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Jun 07 2018 23:30
:+1:
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 23:30
Just setting "Must have Freeblade" if a mechanicus house
Since that's a valid config
Freeblade replaces <house> So wouldn't flag an invalid house
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 23:30
the example household they give in the FW index is Taranis - a mechanicus house :stuck_out_tongue:
@Crowbar90
It is done.
Like, you shouldn't need to do anything :)
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 23:53
but what if i already found a bug :x
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 23:53
Then I hate you
:p Whats up
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 23:53
you're suppose to pick 2 burdens if you're not doing it randomly
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Jun 07 2018 23:53
The only things unverified are the 5 original knight datasheets as we don't have a leak of those.
Fuck you're right
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Jun 07 2018 23:58
also the character selection is forcing me to pick it as my warlord
