Big bugs are scary...

the main way people run fexes atm is the dakkafex - 4x devourer + enhanced senses (+ spore cysts). works well as jorm, as you said, for the effective 2+ save
if you're dead set on running that many melee fexes, it's probably worth taking old one eye with them
other than that, the haruspex is largely considered to be the worst unit in the codex. it's expensive, not particularly durable, and doesnt pack much of a punch

I run Kraken bugs ... 60 stealers FHT & BL, rippers and warriors and 5 Choppy fexes with old one eye and a tyranid prime ... not all of that in 2000 ... but it gets the point across .. I keep forgetting to use the tactic that makes things explode in acid when they die, but otherwise .. it eats lots of stuff for brekky
who needs FLY when u can advance and charge and your advance is best of 3D6
and sometimes it gets doubled

how many haruspexes though? :grinning:

they don't come in an SC box ... so I'll add them to the list ... though I have faced off against a guy that plays 3 of the 18" acid/fire spitting horrible big nasty things that are impossible to kill
my list is a "meat and potatoes" throw cheap stuff at the enemy and see if it falls over ... I don't have anything exotic

i was kidding. all of the nids players around me constantly go on about how utterly awful the haru is :stuck_out_tongue:

the two trygons are out these days too ... so easy to kill them it's not even funny

yeah, the beta reinforcements rule makes it so difficult to run fun deep strikers. used to love running scions, but now they arrive so late in the game that they feel wasted

aaah sorry @GenWilhelm .. I don't really know much about my 3rd army to bitsh about any units that aren't up to speed ... not like my Crons or Marines..

I only started stealers cause .. a) stealers!! and b) I was so disheartened with trying to get RG VV's into combat that I wanted a choppy army ..

Should have gone Orks !!

I did try to use the stealers poo nodes one time ... it just meant I was waiting til T3 to make the charge I wanted to do in T1

yeah, that ability is so... weird. why am i holding back my melee units to deep strike into my deployment zone exactly?

and now they can't actually pop units til T2 and get moving in 3 for a T4 charge ... amazing
even if the enemy hasn't gotten units within 9" and already popped the nodes

hmmm
the list concept was basically to use the warriors/fexes as first wave, and then the trygons/stealers/haru as a deepstrike second wave, but i might just drop the haru for a pair of dakka fexes

In other news, the army I'm building will put 90 Diaz Daemonettes on the table (plus other things, obviously)

@amis92 tau got a stealth nerf
FW stuff with HBCs now don’t have THBCs; they have Twin Swiftstrike Burst Cannons
So no more stealth points upgrade
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR

what's the difference?
out of curiosity
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Oct 03 2018 22:35
The Swiftstrike doesn’t have a points reduction while the HBC does

@WindstormSCR
Oct 03 2018 22:41
ah
otherwise completely the same?
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Oct 03 2018 22:42
Yeah
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Oct 03 2018 22:42
seems kind of stupid considering every other twin weapon in the game is reduced
twin lascannons being the only exception I can think of
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Oct 03 2018 22:45
No I mean the points for HBC/THBC were amended in CA/BFAQ previously, but by changing the names of the weapons, that means it reverts to the printed points cost in the index instead of the amended points cost

that's....pretty dumb
