What's this about a Slaaneshi daemonette army?

I've been away for a week and I think I'm caught up... What did I miss?? Anything important?

some people like pineapple on pizza, and other people are normal humans.

Anaheim sounds way more scandinavian though. From a begone age where vikings pillaged the brits.. good old times!

My only remaining playing pal is into slaneesh. I can expect up to 40 primed demonettes.. some might even be slightly purple! :P

Not really a conversion so much as a "materialize out of thin air" 3D CAD design that will be printed"
slaaneshi symbol.PNG
I'm going to print a few of those really thin to be put on banners
Prince-sized Pad.png
And of course, shoulder pauldrons for the princes
CrusherJoe @CrusherJoe may have a problem

neat, i got some plastic daemonettes cheep of someone so i'm planning on using the banners etc from those
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe
Oct 18 2018 13:50
That is also perfectly good
I may wind up getting a box of them to steal bits from

still haven't figured out what to do for the herald/mask etc, probably use the claws from the plastic kit and just have "deamonette with bigger claws".. i'm not very imaginative

I'm going to have one walking herald, The Masque, and 3 mounted heralds

@CrusherJoe 1250 ;)

Dont give that guy any ideas, so many demonettes are hard to shoot of the table already...

Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Oct 18 2018 14:10
why shoot them when you can gloriously charge them with bayonets?
Dirk Bachert
@Thairne
Oct 18 2018 14:30
cause claws are better than bayo - *BLAM

@CrusherJoe its a problem you made for yourself by getting a 3D printer
the custom parts rabbit hole is a deeeeep one
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Oct 18 2018 16:54
An even deeper rabbit hole - get an SLA printer.
The stuff looks so good coming out of those.

there's just the ~$4k startup cost on those
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Oct 18 2018 17:19
There’s a budget SLA-like one out there - it uses filtered LEDs instead of actual lasers
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Oct 18 2018 17:19
you could maybe get down to ~2k if you did some serious quality cuts

I linked it to Beddoe - I’ll try to find it again and link here
It’s just tiny

yeah, the LCD cures have some problems they still haven't completely solved
most notably with the resulting resin having too much flex
IIRC shapeways uses formlabs printers
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Oct 18 2018 17:20
so if you wanted that kind of result you're looking at ~4k for the printer and curing oven
(Curing oven is a must for precision)
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Oct 18 2018 18:46
Hey, I didn't say it was cheap.
But they are getting there.
Another year or two I think we'll have quality for a good price on SLA
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Oct 18 2018 19:54
and ABS/PLA are just getting cheaper and cheaper for decent results

Actually you can get extremely detailed prints out of a Anycubic Photon or Wanhao Duplicator 7
Guess what device Joe is buying next? :)

and you thought plastic crack was an expensive hobby!
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Oct 18 2018 20:16
It still is.
It's just a different variant of plastic crack :p
Like ... pre-plastic crack.
Dirk Bachert
@Thairne
Oct 18 2018 20:19
the words you use... what do they mean? :P Anycubic Photon sounds like a weapon out of Master of Orion...
And that Wanhao thing sounds like a fancy slaneeshi sex toy..

Might as well be, since it allows you to customize your models to Excess
