Depends on what you want to do with them.
Skitarri are shit chafe.
If you're looking for triple snipers, Rangers. If you're looking for support for charging dragoons, vanguard to lower enemy T.
My preferred 3 troop choice is 2 rangers with 3 snipers each, and destroyers with a dominus nearby.

CP is what I wanted, it’s with GK- the fun of mediocre armies
My actual AdMech army I have other things in mind (many more sniper rifles!)

I just use rangers and enginseers as a cheap as all get out CP battery
200 points for some (used to be) forward scouts
now with the stygies nerf I'm looking back at IG again :(

i can't use some of the models i wanted to at SoCal next week, so pushing together a few more models; i do have the super cheap bat of admech ;)
the second batallion has a couple sniper rifles, the tech priest dominus, and 1 squad of vanguard
converting some skitarii to the tech priest engineseers...i really hate the normal two models

most of the rhino hulls can be whirlwind/razor/rhino
one can be a deimos relic pred
considering another landraider
but I say it's a watch fortress in the sense that most functional KTs are anywhere from 5-10 with the average being 6
if I broke it out to coherent squad loadouts it makes 5 companies of 4 teams each

impressive body count. altough in my (limited ) marine experience you need two of those expensive birds to actually reach the front
cant bs keep different detachements of the same name appart? eg 2x battailion?

and yeah, the editor just keeps them separate
the problem with stormeagles is that they're landraider price
~300pts
or more
granted they can carry 3 entire kill teams
but running two with contents just takes too many points

279 for stormwolves and yes its heavy on the budget. but they have lot more guns than the tanks. not to speak of the movement
wouldnt be half as bad if the nastiest wolf char wouldnt have a terminator armor

I currently have 95 Deathwatch models, and I hope to get the "wake the dead" box to add more dudes to both my Deathwatch and my Eldar - ill get a photo of the Deathwatch at the end of the year - currently project "gaming ready" target date :smile:

yeah, I still think it is really weird why primaris can't go in the normal transports... it literally makes no sense... they could say Primaris = 2 x normal marines or something

probably because they'd almost never sell repulsors then
rhinos maybe I can see, I have no idea why they can't fit in stormeagles/landraiders when terminators can

last time I heard about snipers the opinion was pretty much everywhere that, except for ratlings and their inherent low point costs, all kind of snipers sucked donkey balls
and that they're just not cost effective

I favor snipers heavily. To the point that the other 7 in the unit are a tax for the massive range.
Keep 6 of them near a dominos or Cawl and target small characters that’s will hinder what you’re focusing. Kill that cryptek before assaulting the blob for example

which is where a chunk of the IG power lies
actually even vs harlies, since yeah invuln, but low wounds and no fallback, so it's usually "invuln or nearly die"
same thing for craftworlds
where they're less useful is vs DPs and things with higher wounds and a decent-ish invuln, like CSM/SM terminator characters
even vs daemons they're good for shooting locus heralds
or exalted flamers
