Index says nobs can each take an ammo runt. Codex says you can have 1 ammo runt for every 5 nobs.
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Nov 05 2018 01:52 UTC
is the ammo runt thing in wargear block?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 01:53 UTC
User wants me to restore the index option. But I'm not sure if this one works.
It's in the wargear block in the codex.
In the index it in the unit composition section.
CrusherJoe @CrusherJoe just keeps his big ol' mouth shut
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Nov 05 2018 04:02 UTC
Well that’s a pain. Is it still given a profile like a model?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 04:09 UTC
Yeah, it's still a model. I'll give you an example of another similar change.
In the index up to 2 tankbustas could take Tankhammers. In the Codex for every 5 tankbustas in a unit, 1 can take a Tankhammer.
It's still an option, but it's no longer an option to take 2 tankhammers in a 5 man squad.
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Nov 05 2018 04:28 UTC
basically if its in the wargear block it's allowable, unit composition is a big fat nope
in the case of tankhammers, allow 2 but tag the unit (index) if chosen with an append
assuming that's in a wargear block
@tag8833 the RAW to know is that the DC specifically calls out the wargear block only, and that by FAQ rulings weapons lists with the exact same name are considered to still have any options from the index that were removed
if its just a unit rule, or part of unit composition, no dice and the option is gone
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 04:38 UTC
It's one thing to support units that were removed (like the big mek with KFF that actually had a model). But it's kinda silly that they allow wargear options like that.
I'll go ahead and make the change.
I kinda wish we had made an early choice to have a no force org selector for "Show Index Options" So that users like me who prefer to generally avoid index stuff could hide it easier.
tekton
@tekton
Nov 05 2018 05:39 UTC
You could invert it and have it hide index stuff
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Nov 05 2018 06:13 UTC
@tag8833 its because of old models with wargear that is no longer supported: Power axe commissars, double AC dreads, Autarchs (MOST OF THEM), etc
@/all interesting thought @tag8833 brings up. it might require some work, but would the other data authors be up for adding a "hide index options" switch to the NFO entry in GST?
I'd be OK with adding it to CWE/DE/Clowns/Custodes
and DW
Simon Porter
@FarseerVeraenthis
Nov 05 2018 08:27 UTC
Flag to hide would be OK, flag to show would be "no bueno" for me because, as suggested, Autarch would be a pain in the bum to add to a list - and that's just one easy example :+1:
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Nov 05 2018 10:34 UTC
yeah, it would have to be an option to hide. having legal options hidden by default would go against guidelines
re: DC, the ONLY time the DC applies is when a model has wargear that is completely absent from the datasheet (or if the model has no datasheet in the codex). changes to unit composition, or restrictions on wargear, are not covered by it

I had a copy paste error on the points of the megatrukk scrapjet, and that has been reported 6-7 times. There is another copy paste error on it's abilities, and someone wants me to add wargear constraints to relics. All of the other reported bugs are fixed.

Nov 05 2018 13:08 UTC
I personally love the bugreps that result from us putting entry in too fast and the java editor dropping fields.
Like if you tab enter numbers too quickly fields just go blank.
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Nov 05 2018 13:09 UTC
yes, i remember that one. if you still had tab held down when you started typing, it wouldnt save what you typed in
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Nov 05 2018 13:09 UTC
Wargear constraints should definately be in for relics.
Take a gander at Necrons if you need a limited example. IK too but that's a convoluted beast i'd suggest nobody look at too closely.
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 13:09 UTC
Yeah, I rand into that quite a number of times. I caught most of them myself, but the tracktor cannon cost which has been reported twice was one of those errors.
Jon Kissinger
@alphalas
Nov 05 2018 13:10 UTC
This’ll sound weird, but I actually miss it automatically selecting the name of the new entry so you could just start typing immediately – as annoying as that was, it was super convenient for creating new entries quick
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Nov 05 2018 13:10 UTC

i also dislike how it auto-selects a constraint when you add a new one
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Nov 05 2018 13:11 UTC
It does?
Oh you mean when you add a new constraint
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Nov 05 2018 13:11 UTC
yeah
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Nov 05 2018 13:11 UTC

Though a context submenu would be the tits.
Will Pattison
@GenWilhelm
Nov 05 2018 13:12 UTC
like when you need to add min1/max1 on something, i'm used to just hitting both the min and max in parent constraints, then setting them both to 1
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Nov 05 2018 13:12 UTC
Right click > Add Constraint > Choose which one in the right click menu.
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 15:26 UTC
So I'd rather make wargear relics that replace wargear a wargear choice. For instance, a Warboss can pick between a Big Choppa, a Power Klaw, Headwhoppa's Killchoppa, and Da Killa Klaw.
If I make the Relics share entries I can add 1 per roster constraints.
But that isn't our way, right?
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Nov 05 2018 15:28 UTC
Some people did start doing them that way, but it can be complicated when you have multiple wargear that can be replaced by the same relic.
I think DA is still implemented that way...
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 15:29 UTC
Let's say I have 2 relic power Klaws. So I could do a pick one selection entry group: Power Klaw, Relic 1, Relic 2.
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Nov 05 2018 15:30 UTC
However, it was generally decided that we would do it by having a general list and restricting them based on wargear selection.
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 15:30 UTC
OK. Fair enough.
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Nov 05 2018 15:31 UTC
I think I said before, you should move your Relics into the main SSE list and link them back into the Relic SSEG, then you can make them show/hide without resorting to "invalid" constrants.
Joe Beddoe
@CrusherJoe

:bow:
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Nov 05 2018 15:53 UTC
@tag8833 I understand the want to actually replace.
We're sticking with Relic SSEG for now - in the new BS - we should be able to hide profiles based on conditionals.
IE: Hide Power Claw profile if Relic is in parent
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 15:53 UTC
No problem. I'll get it done.
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Nov 05 2018 15:54 UTC
That'll keep it clean and homogeneous across the cats if we can.
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 15:54 UTC
Yep. All in favor of standard procedures.
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 16:00 UTC
Is there any way to make the selection name update over here besides having an extra SSE?

Nov 05 2018 16:01 UTC
It doesn't work.
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Nov 05 2018 16:01 UTC
aw :(
Then no
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 16:03 UTC
About 1/2 of my shootas are index only, so I guess I might as well have a 2nd SSE for them. Same with Rokkit Launchas.
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Nov 05 2018 16:06 UTC
what's the difference?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 16:09 UTC
It's mainly a usability thing for me. I prefer to generally play without any index options. So I like to know what options I'm evaluating, and sometimes I don't actually look at them in the Roster selection window after I've picked them.
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Nov 05 2018 16:13 UTC
So the Codex Warboss can't take a Shoota?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 16:13 UTC
Nope
Has to pay for one of the more expensive guns
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Nov 05 2018 16:13 UTC
But your Shooty Arm SSEG is shared?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 16:14 UTC
Nope. Most characters have unique selection lists
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Nov 05 2018 16:14 UTC
Share your Shoota Profile entry, then make an SSE in your list called "Shoota [INDEX]" and link to the the profile?
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 16:15 UTC
Yep, that is what I'm in the process of doing. Searching out the instances of the index shoota and index rokkit launcha to change the links from one SSE to another.
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Nov 05 2018 16:16 UTC
hopefully one day the renaming will actually work.
2.02 will solve all our problems!

@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 16:16 UTC
It kinda works. I'm just being a perfectionist.
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 16:34 UTC
OK. All the bugs are Squished. Got to get to work, If more bugs come up today I'll try to get to them late tonight.
Dirk Bachert
@Thairne
Nov 05 2018 17:06 UTC

I think DA is still implemented that way...

You are correct and to this day I like it. It is clean and basically causes zero issues so far - but there are no overlapping relics which makes it pretty easy. Simple 1:1 trades which is why I came up with that system in the first place. And redoing it for fucks sake and fuck over every list out there.. yeah, I'd rather not :P If I'd make a new cat i'd stick to the agreed method ofc.

Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Nov 05 2018 17:12 UTC
Eventually you’ll be the old man out :p
I’d be happy to change it in admech:p
Iain Launchbury
@Mad-Spy
Nov 05 2018 18:13 UTC
@Thairne, I did all mine that way because I also like it better, but then changed it all. Inserting them into the various picklists is the major pain, but the fact that 2.02 allows inserts into linked SSEGs will make a massive difference.
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Nov 05 2018 18:52 UTC
@tag8833 feel free to commit to master/push a release whenever you have a good handful of bug fixes done - might stave off duplicate issues if you're getting a lot of those.
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 18:53 UTC
I've never pushed a release. I'm not entirely sure how to do that. But I have been committing to master as I get items resolved.
Earl Bishop

Nov 05 2018 18:55 UTC
Are #3829 and #3828 dupes?
also #3829 Java bugs strike again! :p
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 18:57 UTC
No, actually both of those are originals, and yes #3829 is the javabug.
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Nov 05 2018 18:58 UTC
Cool - if you're gonna bang those out quick, let me know and I'll toss a release out
Good work on the cat tho - seems to be rather minor issues to fix

Nov 05 2018 18:59 UTC

WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
Nov 05 2018 19:05 UTC
@Thairne I noticed some hinky DA relic behavior last night when doing some lists, mostly with relics not appearing when relics of the rock was selected, but not sure if it affected anyone other than the techmarine
Troy Graber
@tag8833
Nov 05 2018 19:07 UTC
OK. I committed a fix to those 2 issues.

#3831 ?
Dirk Bachert
@Thairne
Nov 05 2018 19:30 UTC

So... waiting till 2.02 and then redoing it sounds like an option. All that magic mcguffin stuff you talk about has to have some use :D

@WindstormSCR I'll take a quick look, it should all be in SSEs and SSEGs tho...

seems to work, maybe some hickuppedy stuff in certain condition? the constraints are the same as in every other entry...
@Kohato actually... please do. For the sole purpose that looking at it in a familiar cat is way easier to understand then looking at things I have never seen before like SM where I dont understand what is supposed to be happening
I've been so long out of the loop that I have no clue about current design decisions and possibilities... My genius that made Fuck Cadia possible has gone rusty :D
(like old men tend to be)

#3831 is a duplicate.
Earl Bishop
@DrTobogganMD
Nov 05 2018 19:51 UTC
@Thairne Sure thing - I'll take care of it for Admech - And I agree. It's why I dropped SM when 8 came out - I don't play SM. Far easier to look at the workings of a cat that you play.
@tag8833 Perfect - wanted to check before I released. I'll toss one out now
Also - Any comic nerds in here?
WindstormSCR
@WindstormSCR
