in German we call such things "gefährliches Halbwissen" aka dangerous half-knowledge.
When you assume you know stuff but you actually DONT and keep acting on your wrong assumptions you can cause quite a bit of trouble
Hm...
In German that sentence would be different. More like
"Vorsicht!! Gefährliches Halbwissen!" if it's a warning label just like "Attention! High Voltage!"
or you could say
"Vorsicht vor gefährlichem Halbwissen" which would be "Beware of dangerous half knowledge!"
or possibly closest to your wording in intent
"Lass gefährliches Halbwissen nicht die Oberhand gewinnen!" - "Dont let dangerous half knowledge get the upper hand!"
decades they had some of the best engineering...
