    @aheinze I had two separate instances of cockpit stop at the same time, about 1 hour ago. Is there any reason for it? Auto-update maybe?
    Artur
    @aheinze
    no, maybe you should ask your hoster?
    Michelangelo Partipilo
    @mpartipilo
    My hoster is my vps on digital ocean. It's weird that both instances died at the same time, both running on docker
    Artur
    @aheinze
    and docker runs on the vps ... so maybe digital ocean had some issues?
    Michelangelo Partipilo
    @mpartipilo
    Only the cockpit containers stopped :)
    Artur
    @aheinze
    sorry, don't know. do you have some log files to investigate?
    Michelangelo Partipilo
    @mpartipilo
    I'll keep an eye on it. The log only shows that the kernel died: [Thu Apr 12 15:59:42.508955 2018] [core:warn] [pid 1] AH00045: child process 15 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM
    With about 10 similar lines. Never seen anything like it.
    I'll look more into it if it happens again

    haha yess :)
    Michelangelo Partipilo
    @mpartipilo
    @aheinze Will you make the nestability of collection items optional?
    Artur
    @aheinze
    @mpartipilo yes, with a max nesting level setting. so if you don't want nesting and only sorting (like the current implementation), you would just define 0
    Jesper We
    @JesperWe
    I'd love to test the new nestable collections. A lot of your latest commits look like they will be very useful. I wonder, if I pull the latest commits, try it out and find some showstopper issues and revert to an earlier version, will I be sorry? In other word, @aheinze does the new version change any data on existing objects in a way that's not compatible with older versions?
    Artur
    @aheinze
    @JesperWe the only thing, that should've cheanged is the way sortable collection items are stored using _o instead of _order as internal order field
    Jesper We
    @JesperWe
    Ok, sounds not dangerous. I have pulled the changes and they work fine. Sometimes it's very hard to put the first entry inside another, the + icon flashes but disappears before you release the mouse. Feels like the drop target is either too small or not fixed. The other thing that immediately comes to mind is to persist the folding state between reloads. Maybe on a cookie/localStorage. The feature loses a bit of value when you organize the folders, open the one you want to work with, change an entry and when you go back to the list all the containers are open again.
    Artur
    @aheinze
    @JesperWe Good point. I'll try to find a way to persist the folding
    Jesper We
    @JesperWe
    @aheinze is there a way to ask the API to return a collection sorted in the same order as it is in the CMS view? The new nested collections are very nice, but after the pages where organized in folders all our menus got disarranged, since the API now returns items in a different order. The UI would need to re-sort hierarchically according to _o / _pid / _o. It would be nice to get them in the same order as they are on the CMS screen.
    Michelangelo Partipilo
    @mpartipilo
    I would expect that as well
    Artur
    @aheinze
    yes, this is still missing but will get implemented soon
    please move future communication to https://discourse.getcockpit.com/
    Michelangelo Partipilo
    @mpartipilo
    but this chat is so nice
    Artur
    @aheinze
    It doesn't make sense to split the places where you can find information ;-)
    Michelangelo Partipilo
    @mpartipilo
    It will eventually converge into a single place. Let the fragmentation happen and whatever works will work

    @JesperWe
    I think we owe it to Arthur to make his life as easy as possible! If he wants to move the community to discourse we should honor his wish. I can understand it, longer running threads get hard to follow here.
    Michelangelo Partipilo
    @mpartipilo
    I agree with that

    Why are you sending all those keys in the URL? It's a POST request that takes a JSON object. You should be adding those values to the BODY of the request.
