Ulrik Günther
@skalarproduktraum
so in case something breaks, sorry
i’m superridiculously excited for the combination of bdv and scenery! :dancers: :sparkles:
(oh and on a related note, could we move scenery-related discussion to the sciview channel? it’s currently scattered between here and there)
Philipp Hanslovsky
@hanslovsky
@skalarproduktraum Yes, I will submit issues. Don't worry if anything breaks, so far, I am not using too much of the library, anyway, so chances are low, and in case it does, it will be easy to fix.
Ulrik Günther
@skalarproduktraum
:+1:
what version are you at? 0.1.1-SNAPSHOT or what are you using?
Philipp Hanslovsky
@hanslovsky
let me check.
0.2.0-SNAPSHOT
ha, I guess everything is fine already :D
Ulrik Günther
@skalarproduktraum
great
so the changes from the PR should not totally screw you
Philipp Hanslovsky
@hanslovsky
yay \o/
Ulrik Günther
@skalarproduktraum
should :D
Philipp Hanslovsky
@hanslovsky
:D
Ulrik Günther
@skalarproduktraum
okay, merged
Philipp Hanslovsky
@hanslovsky
:plus1:
Ulrik Günther
@skalarproduktraum
new snaps should be up soon
and let’s move to scenerygraphics/SciView :+1:
Philipp Hanslovsky
@hanslovsky
Ok, works for me.
Tobias Pietzsch
@tpietzsch
nice work guys!
Philipp Hanslovsky
@hanslovsky
Thanks @tpietzsch !
Tobias Pietzsch
@tpietzsch
@hanslovsky how much work do you think is it to get this running on my computer? (OS X problems, is there reasonably sized test data available, etc...)
Philipp Hanslovsky
@hanslovsky
@tpietzsch I have never tried it on OSX but hopefully, so I do not know about any OSX specific issues. If you would like to try, you can run ExampleApplicationCremi:
https://github.com/saalfeldlab/bigcat/blob/javafx-generic-listeners/src/main/java/bdv/bigcat/viewer/ExampleApplicationCremi.java#L47
You will need to download padded sample A from cremi and put it in that location, or modify the code.
You will also need this branch of my bdv core fork:
https://github.com/hanslovsky/bigdataviewer-core/tree/TransformAwareBufferedImageOverlayRenderer-with-background

Philipp Hanslovsky
@hanslovsky
Let me know when you have it running and I will help you with the controls (there is no documentation whatsoever, as of now)
Tobias Pietzsch
@tpietzsch
will do
I'll try it next week probably
Philipp Hanslovsky
@hanslovsky
Ok, cool.
Ulrik Günther
@skalarproduktraum
@tpietzsch i’d also be interested on getting it running on osx (and could also test on windows if @hanslovsky would like that)… please keep the channel posted about issues :)
Philipp Hanslovsky
@hanslovsky
Sure, the more platforms the better. :D
I might be able to try it on my gf's laptop (Windows).
Ulrik Günther
@skalarproduktraum
:+1:
i can’t wait to hook a hmd up to it
Robert Haase
@haesleinhuepf
Hey guys. I'm tracing a bug deep in ClearControl / ClearVolume / ClearGL and hope you have a hint for me where to look at. ClearControl uses ClearVolume 1.4.1 which uses ClearGL 2.1.0 . I have ClearCLWindow showing nothing instead of a beautiful embryo image. If I change the dependency to ClearGL 2.0.4 it works! Question: Was has changed between ClearGL 2.0.4 and ClearGL 2.1.0 which could affect drawing of textures in ClearGLWindows? Any idea? Thanks in advance! :-)
Ulrik Günther
@skalarproduktraum
@haesleinhuepf seeing any errors?
Robert Haase
@haesleinhuepf
@skalarproduktraum nope. Just black windows
Ulrik Günther
@skalarproduktraum
@haesleinhuepf if you have some time today, i could drop by your office and we can go the issue onto the ground :+1:
there’s also the issue that cleargl at the moment has both a gradle and maven build file, which is suboptimal and might cause confusion
furthermore, i’d actually like to deploy it to maven central — loic and i already did the prelims for that a while ago, maybe we can finish it

@haesleinhuepf
Hey guys, there is a Windows issue with ClearVolume uprising: http://forum.imagej.net/t/clear-volume-module-null/12200
I can reproduce it a bit. My detailed error message looks like this:
null

Loic Royer
@royerloic
seems that the amocl dll is missing, any hints online? I am travelling this week, I can check next week...
Ulrik Günther
@skalarproduktraum
@haesleinhuepf what gpu is the machine using? looks like clearcl is having trouble determining a working backend
Robert Haase
@haesleinhuepf
HD 620 inside a Intel 8650U
The other guy on the forum uses HD 630 inside 7700U
I already knew that my laptop causes some issues related to ClearCL
Nico Stuurman
@nicost
Finally started using clearcl for some simple image manipulation. Very exciting! What is not clear to me is memory cleanup. Do I need to call the "close" method on buffers that I no longer use, or is this handled automagically? B.t.w, @royerloic , if there is a better place for these kind of questions, let me know!
