@TimHandy I've finally done the quiz you mentioned above - 31/66% at least above average, though to be honest not sure how representative the questions are! But good fun, esp. JS - also example you posted, illuminating - don't know if I'd hit on explanation by myself but believe the ones given are spot on, function is hoisted and creates local variable, and only local is overwritten. I'd not made the connection that function declaration is in effect same as defining a variable, good to know
Finally caught up with all of this chat I think ;)

@TimHandy Cool quiz bro. :sunglasses: Got 62% and learn some new html 5 tags and css tricks. The JS questions were good as they made you have to think very carefully about what was going on. They love tricking you tho lol.
@katjad Yeah I did hear something about Crockford making degoratory comments, however he is the God Father of JS so should be featured imo

@katjad @rinse0ut Those js quiz questions were really trixy... I think the idea of them was to catch you out. Think I learned a few things there, but not going to worry about it too much. going to do an html/css challenge of some kind monday (I'm useless at positioning elements), and want to try some basic TDD after that (well, to begin with add some tests to existing code, so not really TDD so much) Gonna follow this

It’s funny because sometime you try to second guess the trix and get caught out eg sausages lol.

Yeah I want to start using TDD as a habit. I’ve not been using it on my budgeting app, but might rewrite it with tests.

<wbr> seems a good one, a 'word breaking opportunity' but I think blink and marquee are the best
