@brianvfernandes
thanks. it has more to do with which of our servers you are connected to, one of those boxes seems to have gone AWOL
Andrew McCafferty
@andrewmccafferty
Right, see what you mean, I can get it to work if I disable and re-enable the plugin, presumably because it's picking a different server. Couldn't you use a load balancer instead?
Brian Fernandes
@brianvfernandes
the impacted server should be back up now, we're looking into why it failed as well.
Brian Fernandes
@brianvfernandes
@andrewmccafferty re: load balancer - we do use one, but it's intentionally somewhat sticky. We are looking at our health checking infrastructure to see why it did not pick up on the failure (and of course, why the server failed in the first place). Appreciate you coming in and letting us know it wasn't working!

Exciting News! CodeTogether 3.0 was just released. Based on feedback, we have added much requested IDE to IDE support; join sessions from inside Eclipse, IntelliJ or VS Code, regardless of which IDE is hosting. And now there is simultaneous editing along with a ton of other improvements. Check for updates in your IDE to get the latest version.

If you haven't had the chance to try the new IDE to IDE, or simultaneous typing support, here's a video covering these features in 3.0: https://youtu.be/tuG321BIfs0
Do share with your colleagues and other developers whom you think would benefit :)

Hello, is it possible to share only one project of an Eclipse workspace? Or do I have to place a .codetogether.ignore file with a single * in it in every project except the one I want to share?
toddewilliams
@toddewilliams
Dont know about the ignore file. But if I wanted to just share one project out of a big workspace, I’d create a new workspace and import the project into it using the “don’t copy it; leave it where it is” option. This way the project can be worked on from either workspace and you just use the new workspace when collaborating.

Is there a plugin for Netbeans?
toddewilliams
@toddewilliams
Sorry, but there is not a plugin for Netbeans. CodeTogether is available for Eclipse, VS Code, IntelliJ and IDEs based on those.

@Lender-Desing with CodeTogether 3.0 - you can join from an IDE, just make sure you have the CT plugin installed in the IDE you'd like to join with as well.
you will also need to join the insiders program here: https://www.codetogether.com/insiders-invitation/

Hi, I just tried out Code Together with a Nuxt (Vue) codebase, works great, but there is not syntax highlighting for my .vue files. Anyone know why? I even manually re-picked Vue as a file type in Webstorm. I am using the newest version of Webstorm btw. Any help is appreciated

Hi all, is there any change that we can also share e.g. a browser tab with code together? It's quite limiting when working on a web based project and not being able to look together on the changes in the app in the browser.

if you're talking about output from running the program in the console, that isn't supported yet. the good news is that we'll be releasing an update in the next week or so with this fixed.
here's the bug: Genuitec/CodeTogether#65
is this the capability you were looking for?
