    probably it is a configuration issue of your framework module

    hello hello :) has anyone used codeception in gitlab ci? I'm getting an error "the input device is not a TTY" when I run codeception inside a docker container in gitlab CI. I added -n option but without success
    Gintautas Miselis
    @Naktibalda
    @khusseini what other parameters do you pass? Could this issue be related to your app or test code?
    Khairi Husseini
    @khusseini
    @Naktibalda I realized it was a problem with docker-compose. to run codeception using docker-compose in gitlab-ci the -T for example
    docker-compose exec -T myphpservice bash -c "bin/codeception run"

    Hi
    I have a question about unit test. I want to cover trigger_error in my code. In phpunit I can expect the PHPUnit\Framework\Error\Notice exception, but in codeception in every case of error it always throws PHPUnit\Framework\Exception instead of specific type.
    Why this is different between phpunit and codeception?

    Hi, im currently testing the doctrine integration for my unit tests with codeception. Are there any known limitations when the cleanup is not happening correctly? Im currenty persisting the stuff to the test database but they are not cleaned :(
    Jochen Manz
    @jochenmanz
    Oh, i think i found a interesting bug. The first unit test is not handled correctly: the transaction simply gets lost mid flight and so the cleanup is not happening. In fact a silent exception is raised in the doctrine2 module: "There is no active transaction". I can reproduce it with every test which runs as the first one. Currently the first test is empty:

    i will investigate further and i really hope i can find a solution to this problem. If somebody has a advice for me, i would be greatful :)

    I'm saving session snapshot and using loadSessionSnapshot in login method, but for the second cest it's failing, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    How can I figure out why my tests are taking so long to prepare?
    Tests themselves run in like 50 seconds, but overall run time is about 5 minutes
    Mikk Kiilaspää
    @Mikk36
    Ok, figured it out, cause was fixture loading and generating a password again each time

    I have a problem with mocking php Datetime object. Does AspectMock work correctly with global php objects?
    Tupikov Alexandr
    @tupikoff
    AspectMock don't want to mock DateTime:
    $datetime = test::double(DateTime::class, ['format' => '1979-06-18']);
    $date = (new DateTime())->format('Y-m-d');
    $datetime->verifyInvoked('format');
    $this->assertEquals('1979-06-18', $date);
    Expected DateTime::format to be invoked but it never occurred

    @tupikoff Which framework you use?
    i have the same problem in Yii2 advanced
    Tupikov Alexandr
    @tupikoff
    @nolka without frameworks.
    @nolka The solution is to wrap needed global class. For example make:
    <?php

    namespace myProject\Core;

    use DateTimeZone;

    class DateTime extends \DateTime
    {
        public function __construct($time = 'now', DateTimeZone $timezone = null)
        {
            return parent::__construct($time, $timezone);
        }
    }

    I do not mean to be disprespectful but could somebody explain to me why Codeception generates Tester Action traits instead of including them as regular traits? I am just curious :)

    Hey buds,

    Has anyone had an issue where Doctrine cascades are not persisting? Having an issue where cascadePersist is called properly in the browser, but not in a codeception test

    does anyone have experience with AspectMock? how good is it? and will it be maintained in the future so that I can rely on updates?

    hi, does anybody know something about this error: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined method Dotenv\Dotenv::create() in /home/diana/integration-automation/integration-automation/vendor/codeception/codeception/src/Codeception/Lib/ParamsLoader.php:118
    I just updated codeception to codeception/codeception 2.5.x-dev and , indeed, the create() method does not exist ... :-/

    Hi all, I am currently using codeception with the wp-browser module to test a WordPress plugin I develop. I am currently facing a test scenario that I am not able to implement. My plugin use an external service through a rest api provided by a php library. I would like to simulate an exception as the answer of the API call. Would you mind giving me some hints on how I could mock 1 method of that external library to ensure it throws an Exception ? I have seen some PECL extensions like https://github.com/krakjoe/uopz but I would prefer to have a much cleaner solution. Any hints ?

    I use drone.io as my CI platform. I've got it working with Codeception... Do you want some notes for https://codeception.com/docs/12-ContinuousIntegration ?
    [The readme on github talks about docs being in the repo, but the link from the readme just 404s.]
