    nice challenge as always. first time i was able to finish. and i think it was a bit steep "learning curve"... pretty "easy" 1-5 and then suddenly heavy optimization on level 6. level7 was ok again :D

    Markus Zancolò
    @mkuegi_twitter
    @SilverPeter if you want i can send you mine... not sure if they are of any help thou :D
    there are no unique solutions, so for the big files, it probably doesn't help since you don't want to analyze 3000 lines i guess :D

    since we are planning to use the contest for recruiting purposes we don't want to give out the solutions, however you can share solutions with other participants after the contest

    @mkuegi_twitter would be great man, we've been stuck on question 4 for 3 hours and just gave up, would love to know the idea behind it

    Nope. When you apply for Cloudflight you will need to either have participated at the online contest or take a private contest that might have this problem as well

    Is there a possibility to see my stats in a global ranking, not only in my location?

    Hey, admins. Thanks for the nice contest. I did not have time to finish a level but would like to check if I done it correctly. Would there be a way to do it, similar to the verification we had during the competition and to those you offer in sample tasks?

    level 5.1-4 worked fine
    so close to getting lvl 6

    Just one improvement that could be made for the submission checker: Please ignore additional spaces and newlines. My team got several penalty minutes due to that lmao
    Andrei Gavrila
    @kiuny
    We'll look into that. We shouldn't have had issues with it but we'll double check

    Quick question, how do the penalty minutes work in the ranking?

    Great to hear that you enjoyed the contest. Sadly, it's currently unclear if the contest will be publicly available in the future.

    does top 3 become a prize or something?

    Quick question, how do the penalty minutes work in the ranking?

    They get added to your actual time taken.

    So the time that is displayed already has the penalties calculated in?

    @kiuny What I mean was additional newlines at the end of a file, or additional spaces at the end of a line.

    Thank you for the great contest! And Congratulations to the winners :) My Team and me are wondering how you were able to finish up so fast. We have joined the event for our third time today and already worked out how to speed up parsing inputfiles, managing version control for levels, etc. What are your secrets for beeing so fast, is it because of the python language, huh? :D
    (we are writing java code)
    chza210281
    @chza210281
    Would highly appreciate a solution for level 4. We were close but our approach was way too complex. We are obviously missing something. Thanks
    Markus Zancolò
    @mkuegi_twitter
    @adamsondavid i am also coding in java. made it to level 6 in 58 minutes then got stuck there for 2 hours and finished lvl 7 after 3:45. I think the language can have small effects on the lower levels, but higher up its more important to come up with a suitable algorithm and know how to implement it in your language..
    of course i have a (really small) framework for the CCC that reads inputfiles 1-5, and provides everything for writing the output afterwards. its probably easy to rewrite it within 15 minutes but still helps in focusing.
    and how to be fast: do bad coding. no tests, no version controll, nothing. i also adapt/break code for lower levels when it helps on higher levels. Its not about building a good product, its about producing the outputs for the current level as fast as possible. so focus on that ;)

    just saw the global leaderboard: some folks finishing in an hour is really impressive. congratz!
