"The directory level, which corresponds to a group of source files that all relate to the same subsystem; the source file level, which corresponds to a collection of linked processes and functions; and the function level, which corresponds to a set of instructions that perform a very specific task. "
Directory level is the colony, file level is the domain and function level is the task :)
@all a note on prize payouts. We've closed the initial issue on Gitcoin (https://gitcoin.co/issue/JoinColony/colonyHackathon/4/) and will be paying out the rest of the prizes as tips to your GH username. (Make sure to get in touch with @gichiba to coordinate how you want the DAI split amongst team members if you haven't already).
However, right now the network fees are absurd as transaction volume is high. To send one 500 DAI tip costs just under $13.
We're going to wait it out a few days until this subsides and then will be sending payments to everyone. If you have any questions, let me know.
Hi all, I've sent all but two of the prizes:
2nd place prize to @ConnorChristie. Gitcoin has a 1000 DAI limit, and your prize is 5000 DAI. I’m working with Gitcoin for how to best overcome this aside from sending 5x 1000DAI tx. I'll have an update soon.
The Chain Reaction team. I believe we're still waiting for how you'd like your prize split up amongst the group. You can let @gichiba know and then we'll send your prize.
@everyone Hello former Colony hackathoners! We recently set up a forum with Discourse to better capture and organize discussions about projects, features, releases, bounties, hackathons, etc, as well as some new Gitter channels for our open source contributors to get direct access to developers when collaborating on issues and pull requests.
Here is the link to our new forum:
Here is the current list of Gitter channels:
Have you continued building out your hackathon project, started a new project that uses Colony, or have an idea for a project that you want to explore? Create a new thread and add it to #projects.
@everyone Hey former and ongoing Colony hackers! If you are interested in building with Colony at your next hackathon, I just realeased a beta version of colonyStarter’s
colony-starter-react package. Some refactoring and styling updates are needed but the project provides a working user interface using colonyJS with react/redux. It just takes a couple commands to install and a few more to start your development environment:
yarn global add @colony/colony-starter colony-starter colony-starter-react
(switch into the new project directory)
yarn start-ganache yarn deploy-contracts yarn start-trufflepig yarn start
Also, if anyone is interested in helping improve the starter pack, help would be much appreciated!
Hey, @ryanchristo This is great! I wish I knew you were working on something like this..I should be working off of this instead of starting from scratch. ;) I am glad you have created colony-starter in such a way as to allow other templates. etc. This will make getting started much easier without losing flexibility. Quick question: I got as far as trying "yarn deploy-contracts" and it gave me this error. Any suggestions? Rather than try to monkey-patch it I thought you'd like to know so it can be addressed. Thx.
Error: No such image: ethereum/solc:0.4.23
Error: Please pull 0.4.23 from docker before trying to compile with it.
Error: No such image: ethereum/solc:0.4.23error is happening because I forgot to include a command to pull down the docker image in the
initialize_project.shfile as it exists here in
package.jsonfile but though it would make it easier if everyone was using the same node version. If you would like to use a different node version, you can remove the requirement and see if it works with the version you would like to use.
