KM198912
@KM198912
looks interesting
KM198912
@KM198912
ok, now this thing should be very chatty on the console
Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
?
KM198912
@KM198912
told it to print all debugger outputs to the console
there we go
now i have more info
(PS/2 Controller) Device detection failed: byte 250
Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
error FA
KM198912
@KM198912
FA?
Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
hex
KM198912
@KM198912
yep i see it now, but what is the FA error, guess i have to try and find out
Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
what port is FA coming from?
KM198912
@KM198912
keyboard
and i found 0xfa
it is what i suspected
the reset
Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
so its the result to the reset command?
KM198912
@KM198912
yes, weird is 0xFA is "success"
quote:
Step 10: Reset Devices
All PS/2 devices should support the "reset" command (which is a command for the device, and not a command for the PS/2 Controller). To send the reset, just send the byte 0xFF to each (usable) device. The device/s will respond with 0xFA (success) or 0xFC (failure), or won't respond at all (no device present).
Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
yeah
the thing we were looing at before was the Self-Test command, not the reset command
KM198912
@KM198912
if the reset fails the self test cant be successful as far as i see it
KM198912
@KM198912
HA, i got it, even the touchpad works!
Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
cool
now clenup the code and make a pr
:-)
KM198912
@KM198912
dont think its the right way i did it, i think its better i just open a issue and explain where the problem lies
Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
please do include all details of how you made it working
KM198912
@KM198912
the reset command in the mousecontroller gets called to late to make it short
now lets see if that by accident fixed the fujitsu too
KM198912
@KM198912
hope that is explained good enough
Matthijs ter Woord
@mterwoord
i wont be looking into it, some of the others will
thanks for looking into though
KM198912
@KM198912
guess that is my first help i did for cosmos lol
KM198912
@KM198912
looks like i found a better fix, need to test it tho
KM198912
@KM198912
ok, seems i found the next PS/2 issue
Jim Jones
@RICKASHEYE
i should get a already existing kernel and build cosmos as an overhead or well works on the top of it
Jim Jones
@RICKASHEYE
i tried to use this and it didnt work https://pastebin.com/d38WTT0e
when i called SetupFont then drawText it didnt work
it just crashed and vs says it exited with code 0
Jim Jones
@RICKASHEYE
i have many glitches and problems with gitter
just everytime to join the chat the last chat is always half cut off so i reload the page and its fine
i join another chat from being in this chat for too long and it displays the other chat but then i scroll up and it displays the messages from this chat
dont have these problems on discord
BurgerlX
@burgerlX
Could anyone give me an easy to understand example of basic networking for Cosmos?
KM198912
@KM198912
@burgerlX have a look at auraos, it uses cosmos and has some basic networking, but i believe it uses a older version of cosmos
Jim Jones
@RICKASHEYE
heres thier custom cosmos https://github.com/aura-systems/Cosmos
